This thread will summarize any contracts you pick up and rumors you hear. Currently, you only have the charter.

Charter: Be it so known that the bearer of this charter has been charged by the Assembled Merchant Guilds, acting upon the greater good and authority vested within them by our Council, has granted the right of exploration and travel within the wilderness region known as the Endless Wastes. Exploration should be limited to an area no further than sixty miles east and west and sixty miles north and south of Oleg’s Trading Post. The carrier of this charter should also strive against banditry and other unlawful behavior to be encountered. The punishment for unrepentant banditry remains, as always, execution by sword or rope. So witnessed on this 12th day of Alturiak 1370 DR, under watchful eye of the Lord Mayor of Phsant and authority granted by the Assembled Merchant Guilds of Thesk.

You have found the remnants of a slaughtered caravan that was clearly attacked by raiders. These raiders came from the south and are lead by a horselord, named Marel Khanan. He has 'claimed' the land south of the Golden Way for his own. He has a reputation for taking what he wants and cruelty.
The raiders that attacked the caravan were armed with bows and slashing/piercing weapons. One was clearly armed with a blunt weapon.

Oleg would like you to recover Svetlana's wedding ring.
A hermit named Bokken is looking for some type of berries and apparently sells potions.
A hunter named Vekkel Benzen would like someone to kill a beast named Tuskgutter. You have met Vekkel. He has given you the location of Tuskgutter's hunting ground.
Vekkel mentioned a cursed temple hidden somewhere in the forest.
Vekkel mentioned that the crossing on the bandit's map belongs to Davik Nettle.
Svetlana would like you to find a farm in the area that has moon radishes.
