Harsk & Trynne

“Nay,” Harsk answers his companion. Can’t open it, unless ya want me bashin’ our way in.”

Looking at Sensinn, Harsk pauses for a moment. Then says. “May that the ways of nature guide you, my friend. N’ if ya need a hand pushin’ in da door…you got it!”

SensinnSensinn stomped towards the door and placed his open palms on the wood. He stood like that for a moment, closing his eyes in concentration as he extended his senses into the next room. A small chill ran down his spine after he felt something on the other end of the doorway.

Sensinn moved his hands from the door and stepped back.

"There is something that stinks of death through this portal. It would do us good to be prepared. If there is anything that any of you would like to do before moving on, now is the time."

Sensinn reached inside his armor to retrieve the amulet that hung around his neck. A disk emblazoned with the image of his celestial mistress. He kissed it and offered up a short prayer to the goddess before letting fall back into his armor.

He picked up his greatsword, still in it's scabbard, and jammed the scabbard into the small space between the locked double doors.

"Sir Harsk, if you would be so kind..."

Sensinn grunted out over the noise of his strain in attempting to force the door open with the sword's scabbard.

Harsk, seeing the lizardfolk prepare to force the door open, uses a bit of magic to show him the weakest point. The giant paladin puts all of his weight behind the scabbard. As he struggles, the druid pushes against Sensinn's armored legs with all his might. The door creaks. A little bit of movement, then an explosive force expels the scabbard from the door and both companions sprawl to the floor.

Not yet... You are not as useless as the others. You have not flown in terror or attacked in ignorance. Yet you still have not fully proven yourselves to me.

The voice pounds into your heads, then dissipates. The evil presence retreats into the room, or maybe further, but you know better than to try breaching the door again.

OOCThat hurts. The DC I rolled for the opposed strength test was 21. 17+2+1 wasn't quite enough. You get the sense that the entity may respond to questions now with a high enough Diplomacy check (17). Or you can further explore the castle and see what you might have missed. You can try other stuff, just wanted to try to give more direction to help with the game flow. Oh, and the sconces are just sconces. Sorry, LittleBlueNA

Keloryn Roloval

Keloryn, becoming frustrated with this entity's bipolar behavior, strode up to the door and pounded on it with his fist. "That's quite enough! I don't know what you think you're up to, but I've had enough!
Dice Diplomacy:
1d20-4 (1)-4 Total = -3
Who are you, and what do you want? Are you Eleanor? Are you her child? Were you a friend who betrayed her secret? The damned spirit of Lord Pemberton? You commend us for our lack of ignorance, yet stroke your ego with these pointless games? Are you simply too daft to understand common?"
The wizard's voice grew in volume as he ranted. "Are you more comfortable with the crude tongue of the orcs?Чувствате ли се по-комфортно със суровия език на орките? Perhaps the mad cadence of the goblins?ალბათ გიჟები გიჟები? Do you tremble at the thought of the celestials?Tremblez-vous à la pensée des célestes? Is this mischievous nature rooted in the fey?Vostede é sen dúbida traizoeiro o suficiente como para ser feo. My energies would be better focused on finding this dragon that dealing with you anyway.Οι ενέργειές μου θα ήταν καλύτερα εστιασμένες στην εξεύρεση αυτού του δράκου που ασχολείται με σας."

With a sigh and a few choice elvish curses, Keloryn turned from the door. "The Pembertons are quite content in their current home, and at this rate I'd be more than happy to recover whatever books are left in this place and leave you to languish here in isolation for the rest of eternity." With that, he turned his attention back to the hallway, Take 20 on perception = 22, just searching everywhere while the others act.looking for anything else of interest, leaving the decision on what to do next to the others.
