Hi Ollie, I think the consensus is that if there are one or two applicants who look like they will fit in to the group, and can meet the standards and frequency of posts, they would be more than welcome to join. We are not in a rush however or looking for subpar replacements just for the sake of replacements, so take your time becoming familiar with the game and a character that will fit in the world!

Hey everyone,
Well, my wife says we got Internet back on Thursday, but I wouldn't know because I've been terribly sick the last half of this week. Feeling a bit better, but now I'm facing a whole backlog of work that could conceivably keep me busy through next week. I have a minimester class that's ending October 4th, so I foresee things getting better, but I honestly don't know how much time I'll have this coming week.

I understand if this hiatus is too much and would slow the game down. I do apologize, I've just had a lot of things hit me at once and it's hard popping back right after an illness. You are welcome to NPC my characters as you see fit. I will try to post if I can.

Hello everyone. I’m coming out of a harrowing week here. Turns out my recovery was a false hope, or that I happened to catch some other illness around the same time, so that I’ve been running myself into the ground trying to get caught up on all my work while being more ill than I’ve been in quite awhile. I now finally have some space to breathe in terms of my school work (though I’ve got to put the final touches on a conference paper I’m presenting next week).

That said, I have a dilemna in the sense that my personal life is not going so well. I don’t think I’ve told anyone on here, but my wife and I have been having marital problems for about a year. We’ve been in couple’s therapy, and right now some of the big issues are coming to a head. Some of you may have noticed the drop in my writing quality over the past few months compared to what it once was, and this is a reflection of my preoccupation with these issues. While I do have some time to post now, I honestly don’t know how long this window will be.

I have a lot of issues to work through on top of the (admittedly less) schoolwork I still have. It seems as though it may be most fair to everyone that I bow out for an extended hiatus. I understand if you would like to drop my character from the game… hopefully they can have a valiant death in such case. DnDOG has been a huge part of my life, and I do hope to return here someday, perhaps in a few months. So, if you want to keep my character around, I would be pleased and will gladly help devise some reason for his absence and work over the next few days to help orchestrate hiatus.

I am really sorry about this, especially after just taking a hiatus with the promise of coming back, but I just realized that it would be better for the storylines of my games to go ahead and close my characters up than for me to try and continue along with shoddier and shoddier writing until having to suddenly stop with no explanation.

I'd had high hopes for this game, the first one I've been in with a group who worked well together and were keeping a good pace going, but believe me I understand RL takes priority. I am happy either to continue (perhaps with Ryn slipping into wound-fever due to the undead's contaminated blow?) or take hiatus, depending on what VPA and Altruis think.

I had also been thinking of creating my own game in the next few weeks - if I do I will certainly let you guys know and invite you to join if interested. Perhaps keeping it as a loosely linked series of solo / duo games might be easier to have continuity than larger groups?
