Khalla lacks enthusiasm for sharp things, but she twists around to get a good look at the interesting people. After a moment, a deep thought opens in here brain like beautiful flower. "It's warm here, but loud."
Once she's through the armoury door, she puts a hand on her belly and looks at the ceiling for a moment, then a change seems to come over her. Her eyes narrow, a fanged smile spreads across her face and she takes a low stance, ideal for fast, silent slithering. "Do we need that gnome guy back there?"

Heulwen pads along quietly, keeping most of her biting comments to herself. They might consider putting her back in the cage again, otherwise. The tunnels are... rather exactly what she would expect from a batch of incompetent miners. Because really, who expects anything more when your production values encompass the entirety of a half-broken shovel and a ball of twine?

The furnace is much more interesting-- if only because there is something going on for Heulwen to observe here. She knows nothing about smithing, but even she can see that some of the workers here appear far more competent than others-- and she vaguely wonders as to just why that gnome has managed to avoid the Wednesday menu. There must be some reason. She begins inventing reasons to amuse herself.

Heulwen is not too interested in the 'sharp-pokey-pokey' part of the tour, but if it is this or cages, she will happily continue along to.... 'admire', the current state of affairs in the cave.

Then the snake girl gives voice to a question. Tsk. Has she no sense of how to play the game?

"Every tool has a use," Heulwen answers, her voice lilting with an effected sing-song.

Claw darts around the room, picking up objects and putting them down, if he even looks at what they are it's hard to tell. In his head is a large valley, full of the most colorful flowers and each with their own distinct smell of iron or copper and when he sees the gnome he picks up a large steel-ish flower and throws it at the creature, "Bwahaha!" and turns to run away. He just didn't see the tree behind him which turns out to be one of the forging tables and has to wait a few moments before his eyes will reset.

Mayrie looks around at the many different kinds of weapons available, trying to find ones appropriate to her size. She wanted a greataxe with which to cleave her enemies... but such a weapon might be difficult to find. A suitably large morningstar or mace might also be considered, as a sort of greatclub. For a ranged weapon, throwing axes; she had little experience with the bow.

"Yes, I think we need the gnome. Don't worry, there's more that we don't need." He leads you on into the armuryArmoury. It's a much more dimly lit place, full of racks of weapons and armor and such. Some of them even look useable!

The kobold whips out a small piece of parchment, and starts to read. "Armoury Provisions - Special Ops Team 1 is hereby authorized the use of, per member of the team: 2 weapons, one suit of armor, and 20 pieces of ammunition. Said equipment must come from the Armoury, and can not include body parts or personal belongings of others within the Conclave." You presume that this last statement was added after someone got a clever idea on how to get around the rules.

There's a chest in the back, marked with red runes around the lid. A sign on it happily tells you Bossman's Requested Goods. Do Not Touch, under penalty of Ow.

The armoury currently stocks(sized for Small and Medium creatures):
Simple: Gauntlet, Dagger, Sickle, Light Mace, Stake(metal), Club, Heavy Mace, Shortspear, Longspear, Quarterstaff, Light Crossbow, Sling.
Martial: Light Hammer, Light Pick, Handaxe, Shortsword, Battleaxe, Heavy Pick, Longsword, Scimitar, Trident, Warhammer, Greatclub, Pickaxe, Scythe, Shortbow, Longbow.
Exotic: Sai, Siangham, Khopesh, Scorpion Whip*.
Ammo: Arrows, Bolts, Darts, Throwing Knives*, Sling Bullets, Bolas, Nets.
Armor: Padded, Leather, Studded Leather, Hide, Scalemail, Chainmail.

Requests: Examples of other weapons/armor would go a long way towards teaching the interns running the forge how to make them. Alchemical components would help them learn how to make fancy ammunition. New materials would help them make weapons out of those new materials.

*Throwing knives work the same as daggers, except as follows: They can't be used in melee, but only weigh .75 lbs each. Costwise, they take 2gp for every 5 knives(not that you care about cost much).
*The whip's damage is changed to make it actually viable. It now deals 1d4/1d6 damage.

Mayrie looks around at the weaponry. Most of it is oversized for her, a weapon that a larger creature could easily wield in one hand was a struggle in two.

She took a battleaxe, a greataxe to her, a heavy mace, and some of the throwing knives which were ridiculously large on her small frame.

Then, upon seeing the armors too large for her she squeaked roughly,

"Got armor my size? Cut hides! make skins small enough for Mayrie!" demanding such things as had been her way with the barbarian tribe; she was ready to beat up whomever needed beating to get appropriately sized armor, as she knew it's importance.

Most, if not all, of Heulwen's attention is focused upon the big, shiny chest, marked with enough warning signs to temper even her curiosity. Not yet. She simply lacks the means to be able to get into that... device, so there is no point in thinking about what could possibly be inside it...

The other things are not shiny enough to engage her interest for long, but they are precisely what she expected to have to make due with. Just lovely.

She is still getting the hang of walking on four feet, so she is quite concerned about how she could possibly *fight* while doing so. Preferably, she will not have to. Is that not what the others are there for?

However, her own survival is something she is keenly taking to heart, so why should she not see to it with interest? While walking around, she looks to find something to fight with. Although a little on the heavy side for her purposes, the shortspears seem more than reasonable. She takes three, along with a crude leather cradle to keep them secured in. She also takes a dagger. Just in case.

When it comes to her 'armor', that is when things become a bit more complicated. She likes her wings, even if they are not the best means for her to fly around giddily and merrily in the sky. But weighing herself down with big, heavy slabs of metal seems... an unfortunate method. But she is also quite disturbed about her own peculiar figure in this regard. Most of the armor here seems... inappropriate for her. Similarly, yet different from Mayrie's own problem. However, Heulwen observes the tiny barbarian with amusement, following her own different approach.

First, she asks the Kobold speaking to them. "Ah, much of this seems made for people with different.... curves, than I have. Who can make that," she points to a suit of Studded Leather. "To fit me?"

Khalla looks blankly at the weapons and armour. They don't really interest her much. "Oh, I know how to use one of these. And I'll take a stick. For poking with." She gathers a light crossbow, approximately 20 bolts (counting's not her job) and a longspear. She's keeping low, mostly hidden by the tables and weapons. Either she hasn't grasped the idea that they're supposed to be there, or she still has her eye on a gnome dinner.

Jasper keeps to himself as they traverse the pathway and into the armoury. Once in the armoury his size changes from small to large and back to small mulitple times as he holds each weapon. Jasper looks around at the weapons searching and as he picks up a longsword and sets it aside he says to one of the kobolds What no war rings (ooc:Chakrams) They're round and sharp about this size as he holds his hands 10-12 inches apart.

Jasper continues to sort through the weapons as his size grows and in a deeper voice Where is the hammer with the spear head on top and the long handle. as he sets aside a longbow and a quiver with a score of arrows.

Jasper sorts through the smaller weapons as his sizes shrinks Now I thought for sure you would have a dog slicer here.

Heulwen/Mayrie: "I don't know... usually he'd be hung over this time of day. I'll look into it.

Jasper: The kobold helpfully points to a hammer, and a pole with a sharp point at the end. He is confused as to why you need both on the same stick.

Claw merrily continues running around the armory, but is only forced to stop when he attempt to pick up the greatest and largest of weapons available, the greatclub, and collapses under the weight of the object. A few short gasps and a squeal later, he is able to escape his crushing prison and decides to don a bucket while walking out the door.

Heulwen: The kobold makes to tell you that you're not authorized for 3 spears, but then remembers that he is fun-sized, and you might be hungry. Besides, he's not the one in charge of enforcing that, so it's not any of his concern anymore.

Notes of note: The one-eyed gnome is now rather angry at Claw, due to having things thrown at her head.
The bucket is glad to be free from the Armoury, though it offers negligible AC. It does not yet have a name.

Places of Travel:
Location Travel Brochure
Tunnels Supposedly you get let out through these, to go on your mission.
The War Room You were here earlier. It's empty now, as far as you can tell. Maybe later you can come back and make a nice pillow fort there.
The Forge You've raided the place for all it's worth.
The Bibliomance Shelves upon shelves of books and scrolls(as well as occasional illegal drugs. The librarians get a bit bored down here, you see). You doubt they have anything for you at the moment, but just maybe...
Arcane Labs This is where they keep you most of the time, by putting you in a box. You think that the dragon person wanted you to go do other things, and that they weren't going to put you in the box again just yet.

Jasper shakes his head at the creature Meld the two together. Jasper, unsatisified with the weapon choices available, grabs the two that he set aside, weapons that appeared to be decent condition, before wandering over to the armor section. Jasper, still in small form, tries on various armor types before settling on the chainmail as he growls Not a good selection here either.

Jasper wonders about the capabilities of the creatures in charge They have the power to change my form but dont have the planning to supply good equipment as he climbs into his armor. After Jaspers gets the chainmail on correctly he places the longsword and scabbard onto his belt and throws the Longbow and quiver of arrows over his shoulders.

I am ready for our mission. he states as he waits by the exit for his comrades to finish.

"These? Oh, do not be so silly," she teases the Kobold. "They are not all for me. Some of them are for my invisible friends here. Gentlemen," she turns to empty spaces on either side of her. "Please take your weapons and show this silly Kobold that I'm not the only one using them."

While it seems entirely likely the Sphinx has lost her mind, two of the spears do indeed suddenly move on their own, moving quickly and roughly through the air. It takes a few moments, but eventually the spears float in the air in the rough approximation of how they would be held at the ready. Heuwlwen herself does little, though the truly clever (most likely not the kobold in front of her) can catch the hints of magic at play.

Eventually, with a polite smile, she turns to her '"friends" again. "Now, gentlemen, best you put those back before you get the unfortunate need to stab something, hmm?" With a clearly defined pause to imitate hesitation, masking her own ability, she eventually reaches out to snatch the spears out of the air, returning them to her own person. "Please pardon them. They don't like giving up sharp, pointy bits. Especially when there are lots of things to stab nearby." She smiles sweetly. "See why I need to carry everything for them?"

"Now, if you could be so kind as to find whomever it it is that is... hung over, and responsible for making something here fit me, that would be wonderful. I think I will take my "friends" here and see what there is to see in your... library, such as it is."

She quickly discovers that purring is beginning to take over for any other sounds of amusement or delight; she looks to the others assembled. "I am going to the library," she says pointedly, as if anyone might not have heard her say it seconds ago. "Anyone else capable of reading is more than welcome to join me."

OOC Mage Hand At-Will, capable of 6 pounds, which is conveniently also the weight of two shortspears. ^^

Because teasing kobolds is fun!
