Chapter 1: For Love or Money
You don't have to wait long before Karl arrives at your table. Only slightly taller than the previous halfing, he is however much stouter, with a clear potbelly and greasy black hair. He looks towards you and smiles with a excited grin as he says, "Oh, visitors! It's so very nice to have visitors. You'll be wanting to have dinner, then, yes? Of course, why else would you be sitting down? So, drinks then? Ah, well, you would have asked Anja for those already, wouldn't you've? Right, so dinner, drinks, what else? Will you be staying the night, then? We have a special right now, 2 gold a night will get you a warm bed and two meals, and you can get a third meal for 3 silver. So, what can I do for you?"

Ollona entered the Merry Halfling with a bit of unease. She understood the human propensity for gathering together for no better reason than to eat, but that didn't mean that she had to like it. She managed to make her way into the building while garnering a small amount of stares. She didn't know if it was due to her race, her hair and eyes, or because of the lizard riding on her backpack looking this way and that.
The invitation to sit was taken up quickly, as well as the decision to eat. She wasn't sure about the need for a room. She was never one for a bed, even when living in Bretonnia. She was currently working to find something that had manage to escape Athel Loren. Currently her travels had brought her here, although she doubted she would find what she was looking for in here. |

Holly stepped through the door of The Merry Halfing licking her lips, in anticipation, of the food and drink to come. She took a seat at one the tables and waited for the halfing, Karl, to come serve her.
In the mean time she surveyed the patrons of the inn, and raised an eyebrow at the sight of an elf, of all things, here in this small town inn. The male halfing approached her table, and she turned to look at the halfling, as he started to speak. "I'll take you up on that special you are running, just two meals though. And lets see, 2? No, 3 mugs of ale for now if you would." Last edited by Quadra Wield; Nov 6th, 2011 at 06:25 AM. |

Marcus steps into to inn, weathered from traveling and burdened by heavy armor and a large pack. Scanning the room from the doorway, he is seems content with what he sees of the inn until his eyes fall on the rather outlandish looking wood elf. Marcus scowls in confusion and concern, but is interrupted by the greetings of the halfling.
"Of course" he says, with a polite half smile and a nod. Consigned to his fate, he glances around the room again, then steps over to the table with the gunslinger. "Mind if I join you, sister?"

Ollona sits watching everyone around her, but it's the lizard who is paying the most attention to the crowd. Small chirps and grunts come form it, and Ollona can be seen to shake her head. Finally she seems to resign herself to what she is about to do, as she gets up, and walks over to the other previously unoccupied table.
With a slight accent, she walks up to the two and asks, "If it wouldn't be to much of an inconvenience, would you allow me to privilege of joining the two of you?" The lizard on her back is looking between the two of them, tilting it's head from one way to another, as if waiting with Ollona for a response. The lizard has a small leather tie around it's neck hanging down connecting to Ollona's wrist. With a body harness helping to keep it on the backpack Ollona carries, the creature could almost be considered a traveling companion, rather than a pet. |

"Of course not" Marcus says with a rather formal politeness to the wood elf. He then calls out, "A drink, a room, and dinner, when you have a moment" to the waitress, pulling two gold out of his purse and and setting down his pack. He doesn't immediately try to make any conversation, busying himself with his equipment.

Holly hands the appropriate 2 gold for the bed and food, and then the 1 silver and 2 copper for the drink to the halfling. She puts her pack down on the floor, with an audible sign of relief. She then turns to the priest of Sigmar with a wry smile on her face.
"Of course not priest, it is a pleasure to sit with someone of an esteemed order like yourself." She winks at the priest and then Holly glares suspiciously at the newly arrived elf, and replies, "An elf, did you decide to leave your sparkling spires to take pity on us lowly humans? Oh well, it will be interesting to hear your criticisms of our backwards human ways, you may sit, if you wish." Last edited by Quadra Wield; Nov 7th, 2011 at 01:15 AM. |

Marcus smiles as politely as he can manage. "Had a bit much to drink already, have you?'

Ollona waits for the food and drink to be delivered to her before paying for it. Once seated with the others, she chuckles a little at the woman's words about sparkling spires, "If you think that Bretonnia has sparkling spires, then I have some knews for you. They don't.
"I've lived mostly there for the last 15 years of my life. As for you 'lowly humans'? Last time I checked the maps, you had control of about half of the land that isn't being run over by orcs, beastmen, deamons, or barbarians. "Granted, you don't have Athel Loren, but I won't hold that against you." this last was said with a wink to the woman, thinking that she would be more inclined to see the joke, over the priest. |

Holly, with a confused look replies,
"Bretonnia? Why would an elf live in such a backwater place like that, all those elves that even bothered to talk to me always told me they grew up in some far off place called Ulthuan? I think?... They also called our cities and cultures barbarous from what I remember." She takes a large audible gulp of her ale in front of her. "And this is surprising an elf that doesn't admit racial supremacy, and now that I think about it sitting at a table with humans?" Holly's face changes into a smile and she says, "You must be a "special" elf eh? Also what is an Athel Loren? Some type of elf drink?" Holly then proceeds to gulp down her full mug of ale, and starts sipping on the next. Last edited by Quadra Wield; Nov 6th, 2011 at 10:57 PM. |

Marcus gets visibly angry when Ollona makes her "lowly humans" remark, and seems to want to get a few choice words in, but isn't willing to interrupt either of the women. He contents himself with nursing his drink in sullen silence.

Groz stumbled through the door, it is clear he has already been drinking. He spots a table that isn't quite full yet. Lacking an invitation, Groz plops himself down in a chair beside what seems to be two humans and an elf.
"Hail friends, do you know of anything large I can kill?" hiccuping the last word and giving the male human a friendly slap on the back. He gives each of them a glance trying to gain some kind of understanding about the three. Groz then turns to Karl, "Get me the best mug of Dwarven ale ya got and then keep them coming. I'll also take ya up on your deal." Groz quickly hands Karl the money and turns back to his new friends waiting for an answer. Last edited by Glenn Coco; Nov 7th, 2011 at 01:13 AM. |

Marcus is startled by Groz, and looks more confused than anything. "I, uh, brother dwarf, hello". He makes sure that the slayer has a place to sit down. "Well, no, but if you hear of anything ... deserving of killing, chaos spawn and the like, let me know."
"So, you're one of those slayers?" Marcus adds somewhat uncomfortably, finishing off his drink and gesturing for another.

Ollona continues her conversation with the woman at the table, "You are correct in that most elves are stand offish and arrogant. I just had the benefit of having most of my formative years in human lands. My parents were ambassadors to Bretonnia. So I've spent a lot of time around humans."
Her train of thought was drastically derailed due to the interruption of the dwarf joining their table. The lizard on her shoulder looks at the dwarf and sniffs the air, than talks outloud, "Chirp squeek chirp chirp growl" Ollona's face takes on a shocked expression as she looks a the lizard, "Chompy, how rude!" "Oh, a humanized elf how interesting."
Holly smiles as she says that and seems to have warmed up to the elf's presence, though her composure is immediately ruined by a dwarf "joining" their table. Surprised at first, but Holly starts giggling to herself at the dwarf's antics. "Ay, dwarf there is nothing to slay here, but your welcome to drink here." She ignores the elf talking to her lizard, as this elf was quite a different then most elves she has met already, and does not want to sound overly ignorant again. Holly takes another sip of her ale, and then says to no one in the group in particular, "Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Holly Hold, a pleasure to meet you three."
