Gutwad's Grunts

Character Creation:Level 1 Goblin, 20 point-buy, no gold. Instead write a list of what you want and I will okay your list or make suggestions. Keep it low-tech, remember that you live in a swamp, and keep it goblin-themed!

–2 Strength, +4 Dexterity, –2 Charisma: Goblins are fast, but weak and unpleasant to be around.
Small: Goblins are Small creatures and gain a +1 size bonus to their AC, a +1 size bonus on attack rolls, a –1 penalty to their CMB and CMD, and a +4 size bonus on Stealth checks.
Fast: Goblins are fast for their size, and have a base speed of 30 feet.
Darkvision: Goblins can see in the dark up to 60 feet.
Skilled: +4 racial bonus on Ride and Stealth checks.
Languages: Goblins begin play speaking Goblin. Goblins with high Intelligence scores can choose any of these bonus languages: Common, Draconic, Dwarven, Gnoll, Gnome, Halfling, Orc.

For those of you not so used to Pathfinder remember that you pick a Favoured Class (any base class) at character creation, and each time you take a level in this class you recieve +1 HP or +1 Skill rank. And on the topic of Skill Ranks, remember only 1 rank per level per skill, give yourself a +3 bonus if it is one of your class skills. Cross-class skills are so much easier in Pathfinder!

Goblin Speak:Standard DnDOG policy of bold speech, italic thoughts and colours for different (in this case non-goblin) languages. OOC text must be done in a fieldset box at the bottom of your post, or done so in the OOC thread if it is something unrelated to the game.

Making your speech goblified is encouraged but not necessary. From your songs I know you understand what I mean! Roleplay between players is also encouraged, and bickering is fine (you ARE goblins afterall) as long as it remains in character and isn't a personal attack.

When you post a roll for something please roll your dice in the proper thread and hyperlink to your roll somewhere within your post. Combat posts do not have to be done in order (or it would take us days to do a single turn), I will sort it all out and make a summary post once everyone has posted. Feel free to include different options your character would do if the enemy he wanted to attack died beforehand in the OOC, otherwise I'll do whatever fits your character best.

Combat Post Example:Avelestar raised his shield at the last moment, a dull sound ringing out as his arm shook like jelly. Letting out a snarl the warrior lashed out with his blade in retaliation, it easily slipped past his opponents shield but the brunt of the damage was blocked by a chain shirt. Steady, just wear him down a little at a time. Your defense and stamina far outweigh his, no reason to play risky.

Dares:Rusty Earbiter: Make 3 DC15 Escape Artist checks, failure results in 1d4-2 points of damage (if =0 or less no damage taken). After three failures everyone gets bored and leaves, you fail the Dare.

Hide or Get Clubbed: Roll a Stealth check.

Dancing with Squealy Nord: You must hold on for 3 rounds, make 3 DC 15 ride checks. If you fail a check make a DC 10 reflex save or take 1d3 damage.

Eat a Bag of Bullslugs Real Quick: You must eat 6 slugs within 1 minute (10 attempts), DC 15 fort save to eat a slug, or DC 10 if you chose to eat the whole thing and not spit out the poison gland. Eating the poison gland may make you sick after the challenge/next day.

Get Birdy Nest: Make 2 DC 15 Acrobatics checks and then 1 DC 10 Climb check to get the ravens nest. If you fail a check take a DC 12 reflex save or take 1d3 damage and have to restart the challenge. You are allowed 2 attempts at the challenge (that is two sets of dice rolls, you must restart from the first roll if you fail).

Local Knowledge:Lotslegs Eats Goblin Babies Many: She is a giant spider that lives in the marsh nearby, there is a patch of trees near the closest crossing for the creek that are covered in large webs. This beast likes sneaking into town in the dead of night and eating baby goblins, but you don't really care. There are too many babies in the cage and they cry and yell all day, and it stops her from eating you! But looking at the map you know that you must cross the creek and the only way to do so within a one day walk is at the spiders territory...

Vorka: Looking at the map you realise that it leads you very close to the home of Vorka, an old female goblin that was exiled from the tribe long ago. She is a cannibal and lives somewhere in the marsh closer to the shore, and sometimes comes close to town and kidnaps unwary goblins. Usually this happens about once a month or so.

She is as old as your parents (probably 8 years old, very old for a goblin) and local legend says she is a witch, casting hexes on her prey so they can't escape. She is also a friend of horse and dog, the traitor!

Fireworks:Desnan Candle: When lit this footlong wooden tube launches a flaming pyrotechnic 'candle' every round for 4 rounds. Each projectile deals 1 point of nonlethal damage and 1 point of fire damage if it hits; on a critical hit the target is also blinded for 1 round. The candles shed light for one round before going out. Attacking with a Desnan Candle is a ranged touch attack (AC=10+dex+size) and always has a -4 nonproficiency penalty.

Paper Candle: This finger sized explosive detonates noisily one round after lighting. Anyone in the same square as a paper candle when it explodes must make a DC 15 fortitude save or be dazzled for 1d4 rounds. Throwing at a square is a ranged attack, AC 5. But if a large+ sized creature is in the square you must roll against the creature's AC instead.

Skyrocket: When lit this footlong wooden tube begins to shake and emit a handful of sparks, shedding light as a torch. One round later it takes flight, moving in a straight line with a fly speed of 90ft for 1d6 rounds before loudly exploding in a burst of light and sound, dealing 2d6 fire damage in a 10-foot burst (reflex DC 15 half damage). If a Skyrocket impacts a solid surface or creature before reaching it's maximum range, it detonates prematurely at the point of impact. Anyone who takes damage from the explosion is either Blind, Deaf or both for 1 round.
