Squealy Nord's Pen
First topic of conversation is: What do you do for a living? I'm an entomology student, with 6 months left before I graduate! I get to be a 6 year old running around in fields with a bug net every day. SCREW GROWING UP! |

Hello, all!
I'm priviledged enough to be on the same continent as our friend DM here, and also lucky enough to have recently "abandoned" 3.5e DnD (There's just too much stuff!) in favour of Pathfinder. Unfortunately, I'm not as far ahead in my studies as Avelestar, and am only a post-Year 12 student. I live in the countryside of Western Australia, which makes my options kind of limited unless I move, but my options are fairly open since I'm entering into university studying "Nurseology." Edit: Also, am I to assume that this will be the thread where we'll be revealing our equipment lists? Double Edit: Also, I use This point buy calculator. Just saying. :P Last edited by Muggins; Dec 9th, 2011 at 04:28 AM. |

Nurseology is a rather party filled study path I hear. We only had a single pubcrawl in the environmental sciences, and I was sick as a dog that night so couldn't go! Also, Australia is definitely a privilege, my only complaint is that our internet speeds are about 5 years behind on technology.
Yes you can post what equipment you want here or PM it to me. I'll allow most things, but more advanced/refined weaponry is unlikely and you aren't going to be armed to the teeth and have tons of equipment. Pretty much weapon + ranged or backup, some cheap light armour and things like rope/1 ration/torch + flint & tinder. There's a chance to earn some items that will help your journey at the start of the game, but in true goblin fashion you have to do some pretty dangerous/stupid stuff to get them! |

Oh yeah, and the spiders. Maybe we'll get there sometime, though. You and be both! --- As for my gear, I need to ask a question: Are you familiar and/or fine with the Scizore from Ultimate Combat? It seems like a bit of a strange weapon, especially as a martial one-handed weapon with 1d8 damage (Small). And what's your take on traits? I intended to take the Scizore as an Heirloom weapon, but I don't remember the confirmation on traits. ^^' Now, onto the subject of items.. That's the Scizore, Dogslicer, Trail Rations, Icky The Toad, Two True Strike Extracts, Light Armour, Basic Alchemical Tools (Not an Alchemist's Lab), Flint and Tinder and a Torch. ![]() ..Risky and dangerous, you say? Why, how risky are we talking here? :P Last edited by Muggins; Dec 9th, 2011 at 11:00 AM. |

![]() As for your questions: We're not using traits, but I will let you use a Scizor. But instead it's called a Snake Cutta. Why? Because you can put your arm near the snake and cut him up good, but he can't bite you back! Risky meaning you might lose an ear, or even *gasp* your pride. No one will die, however you might have some negative effects for the big day, but the items are well worth the risk I promise...well except the Chief’s Personal Very Useful Robe That Is Useful. |

I daresay, that useful robe sounds useful! *cough* Anyway, I'll get my equipment picked out later today once I'm back home at my laptop (using my smartphone at the moment and the signal sucks).
And in regards to your original question, I'm a Radiological Controls Technician (the guy who makes sure that if you work in a nuclear reactor, you're not gonna leave it glowing in the dark) for the US Naval Shipyard at Pearl Harbor, HI. |

I'm another one for the "student" category, working on a Master's in Linguistics in Washington DC. It's currently finals with lots of papers to write, so needless to say, I am less thrilled about it than usual.

I'm a copy editor. Don't believe the hype about how useless Arts degrees are.

GDO - That's far more money worth than a 1st level ranger is usually allowed you cheeky bugger. You can have the Falchion (use the stats of a small falchion, but it's actually a rusty medium size longsword you found one day), but downgrade the bow to just a shortbow. Goblins don't have the know-how to make composite gear, or to keep a scavenged one in good knick.
Friend - That's fine. |

Thanks for accepting me into your game Avelestar and hello everyone. In regards to myself, I'm a "student" as well. I'm currently in my last semester and I am studying for a degree in Radiologic Technology.
I'll try to get an item's list together soon, Avelestar...currently at work so I'm afraid i have none of my books at hand.

Aw I was really hoping for a meat cleaver, fluff-wise. Much better than a silly longsword, and far more similar for the cutting profile of a falchion, yes?

Kinda surprised about our OoC Party Makeup, I daresay!
Two questions: Risking my life for extra tidbits? How do I sign up? ![]() And; What kind of Light Armour would you suggest for the Dog Fur Coat? |

GDO - Meat cleaver is fine too, much better idea!
Muggins - Leather, definitely leather. Or hide if your class can wear medium armour. This goes for everyone. As for the extra tidbits...we're having a feast remember? Every goblin makes dares during the feast! Impress the clan/chief and you earn items or even the loan of one of the chief's (magic!) items for a day. L~Spine - I own most the Pathfinder PDFs, but this site is my best friend. Much faster way to get all the information you need, but helps if you have a general knowledge of what you're looking for and doing first. Last edited by Avelestar; Dec 9th, 2011 at 06:46 PM. |

My character's up and rip-roaring to go. Also, though I don't know if these needs to be resolved right now, but would it be possible to use the Skirmisher Ranger archetype? What with goblins being so distrustful of spellcasters, it seems that takin the non-spellcasting variant would be wise. Not that it will come into play until 5th level.
