As the door opens and the party catches a glimpse of whats inside, Holly's aforementioned sarcastic demeanor immediately changes. The thought of what that could be on the spit and the smell of the decomposed corpses shambling towards them almost caused the contents of her stomach to spill out of her mouth. The screaming and the moaning wasn't helping either. The thoughts of the meat cleavers cutting through her skin and bone, and then being pit on a spit over a fire for who knows what to hear her screams, caused her to break out in a cold sweat.
Saying nothing, Holly shakily brings up her gun to fire on one of the dead men. She tries to remember how to shoot straight and repeatedly remarks to herself,"It's just two guys Holly, calm down. We've got five people, I mean we won't die, right?". All while trying to control emptying her own stomach over the closest party member.

Grimnash listens to the others as they try to peice together who the mage was and what they know, once they come to a point where they can't remember anything else Grimnash pipes up, "We Dwarves usually take little heed as to the actions of other races, but rumors his mage you speak of has reasched my folk. I have read in the runes of the past, back in my home hold, that this mage was the dean of a school of shadow magic, the name of which eludes me. He did indeed die in a ritual, covered up by the church of sigmar... No offence meant my good knight." he adds with a nod of his head. "He had in his past been a allie of the church but rumor has it that he may have gotten a bit too close to chaos, this is ofcourse just a rumor as I say. That is all I know on the matter."
Moving around the room grimnash thinks to himself, this place is going to be interesting, he moves over to the doorway as its opened and almost instantly has to subdue the urge to hurl, the sight infront of him is so sickening. |

Seeing the monstrosities stumble towards them, Marcus is unnerved but not impeded in any obvious way. Realizing the seriousness of their situation, he does his best to get out of the way of the others while he raises his holy symbol and shouts, "Sigmar, preserve us in this dark hour!"

With her stomach coming up to disrupt her aim, Ollona lets her bow go slack, holding both bow and arrow with one hand. With Lunigan through the door, and the others seeming to wait, Ollona looks through the door way at the undead, focusing on the one that Lunigan is attacking, and focuses all of her hatred and anger at the thing.

Grimnash is too horrified by the undead in the room, and doubles over as he fights to keep the contents of his stomach. Ollona is equally disquieted, but manages to channel her inner rage at the nearest zombie. However, being the mindless undead, it easily ignores her disrupting magic.
The zombies shamble forward and swing at Lunigen with their meat cleavers. The narrow kitchen makes getting out of the way difficult, however, and though his armor deflects one, the other digs into his side, leaving a nasty gash. To your surprise, the zombie decides to leave the knife there, it's arms falling to it's side as it prepares to throw itself at you again. Lunigen retaliates against the creature's attack, nearly cleaving the undead's arm off. Despite it's horrid wound, however, it continues to press forward. Marcus, seeing the unholy creatures, decides that Sigmar's aid could be the difference between victory and death here, decides to call upon his blessing upon his allies, and suddenly you all feel invigorated. Holly attempts to fire, but with both her hands and her stomach refusing to remain idle, the shot goes wide, embedding itself into the nearby wall.

Choosing to call on his God yet again for his aid rather than make a more direct but potentially useless physical attack, Marcus holds out his holy symbol and calls out, "By Sigmar, back to the grave with you!".

With the shock of seeing the creature have no reaction to her focus, Ollona is at a loss of what to do now. It is Marcus who bring her to her senses. His blessing seems to have helped to calm her stomach, and as he begins what looks like a healing ability, it is then that she realizes that she has other options against these foul beings.
Ollona enters the doorway and stands next to lunigan against the creatures. She decides to offer herself as a shield against the second creature. As she touches the creature, she feels energy coursing from her into the creature itself. Last edited by Insacrum; Jun 22nd, 2012 at 10:04 AM. |

As if the sting of the zombie's blade wasn't enough, Lunigen smells something rancid from the embedded cleaver. Fortunately, he feels nothing worrisome from this (more than a knife stuck in his ribs). Marcus' attack catches him unaware (though under the circumstances he really should know better), & his tainted blood reacts violently to the soothing energy wave with bruises & blisters.
Lunigen yanks the cleaver from his side & quickly staunches the bleeding with healing touch, his flesh stubbornly protesting the soothing wave with a red & raw feeling. As the cleaver clatters to the floor, the knight warns: "Be wary; there's something fetid on their blades." Lunigen hacks at his wounded foe, his sword splitting the rotten skull in twain & leaving the no longer un-dead a still heap on the floor. To the other: "Come; let me send you to join your comrade in peace." Last edited by dbaque; Jun 22nd, 2012 at 01:26 PM. |

Holly's eyes go wide as her shot misses. She couldn't remember the last time she had missed a gunshot at this short of a range, and without any wind conditions to boot! Sigmar, however, lends his aid and her stomach settles, though her body continues to shake with fear. Holly again attempts to reload her gun and aim a shot with her shaky arms, this time at the zombie still left standing.

Grimnash finally regained control of his body functions and shook his head to clear his thoughts and help shake off the sickness. Seeing a gap to move through he grips his axe in hand and charged the nearest of the enemies, but in his haste his swing went well side leaving him open for attack.

Having regained his composure, Grimnash charges forward, but the tight quarters and lack of room cause him to fumble helplessly. Meanwhile, Ollona calls upon her magical gift, and attempt to channel healing energy into the undead. The magic burns through the rotting flesh, purifying it in divine light. Despite the obvious injury, the zombie presses forward, the first one landing a solid blow against the side of Lunigen's head with his stiff arm, while the second attempts to place his knife in Lunigen's soft flesh but Lunigen's armor just barely turns away the wicked blade. Marcus calls upon Sigmar's aid, which has a disappointingly minor effect. However, to your surprise, it also seems to affect Lunigen, who grits his teeth as his skin appears to erupt with blisters and cracked skin. Through clenched teeth, Lunigen channels the favor of the lady and mends the most serious of his injuries, then attempts to remove the cruel weapon from his side. The weapon surprisingly seems to resist, and it is only with great effort is he able to pry the weapon from his bleeding side. As he drops it, it seems to come to life, vibrating with a life of it's own. Though it doesn't seem to move very far, it becomes quite obvious that if the blade had not been removed, things could have gone poorly. Shaking the thoughts from his head, he turns his blade towards the nearest zombie, and with a skillful swing slices cleanly through the head. Like a marionette with it's strings cut, the zombie collapses, it's arms and legs twisted at unnatural angles. The remaining zombie pauses for only a moment to register that his partner has fallen, but that moment is all Holly needs to fire a shot, which goes through the creature's shoulder, the blow nearly threatening to separate it's arm from the rest of it's body. The creature musters on, however, almost as if the wound was never there.

Lunigen soothes the incoming concussion with another quick healing touch, his hand starting to feel quite tender. However, the lingering ringing in his ears skews his swing at the remaining zombie, leaving him merely scraping at the undead's surprisingly resilient flesh. "Be still, tormented one; we shall bring you your peace, as well," he remarks, his shield warily ready for the hexed cleaver.

Seeing the inadvertent results of his last action and feeling that the time is right for a more direct approach, Marcus grasps his warhammer in both hands and swings it furiously at the last standing zombie. "SIGMAR!"

Having tried and failed twice now to stab at the Brettonian, the undead creature turns it's gaze to the newest arrival, the dwarf, but he proves to be just as canny a foe as his taller companion. The zombies attack goes wide, and before it even finishes pulling it's weapon back, Marcus has reached him, and, with a mighty swing, smashed the zombie's head like an overripe melon. The now headless body attempts one last stab at Marcus, but whatever fell magic had animated it ran out mid swing, and the cleaver clatters to the floor, the body joining it soon after.
With the dead returned to their proper state, the kitchen becomes eerily quiet, the only sound being the sound of your own ragged breath and the rattling of the still turning spittle.
