Nyx: You scour about, and don't see a proper door or anything, though there is a sort of recess near the shoreline that leads further in. Like a small cave before the bigger one. This is probably a way into the back of the cave without having to swim in, which would be nice.
The inside is damp, dank, and dark. The brown-grey volcanic stone sits idly, watching your every move. It does not judge, but wishes that you wouldn't stare. It is very self-conscious about its weight, you know. The recess curves inward to the left, and around a bend out of sight, angling slightly upward. No lights are inside, and the overhang is such that you can't see very far inside without night-vision, or setting one of the ferrets on fire as a torch.

Nyx peered into the cave, her eyes always having been naturally able to peer through the dark. However, this was always an ability that she knew to be unique. It very much confused her when she was little that other people weren't able to see through the darkness in monochrome detail, so now in the present she felt it pertinent to ask, "How well can you see in the dark?" to the crowd.

"Not that well to be honest" Varash said as he moved closer to the cave to peer into it's dark passage.

"We Fertia need not our sight, for our noses are more sensitive than the most keen of eyes!" Sunose began proudly, "although I will admit, this place could use better lighting. So dreary. Anyone have something I could light up, like an oily rag maybe? Wrapped around a stick?" He probably could've scavenged up the supplies back outside, and he probably should've done that before coming in. Whoops; that would be something to remember for next time, he supposed.

"Alright then. Better not to bumble around in the dark." Nyx drew her cutlass, and pointed to the roof. White light began swirling around the blade in a whirlwing-like fashion, then settled on the blade.

You take a peek inside the cave. There doesn't appear to be anything too special inside: rocks, a stray stalagmite, and so forth. It slopes slightly downward, but you can see it ramping back up in the far back. You'll need to get closer to really get a good view of where this place is going, though.

Thaddeus gave a slight smile to Nyx. "Since you've got the light care to lead us into this maw of darkness?"

Nyx swallowed silently. "Well, if you insist."
And so she stepped into the cave.

Dice Perception:
You head further into the cave. It's rather dank, but not all that smelly. Tropical caves are nice that way. You see a few stray bits of coral, and the dessicated corpse of an eel that managed to swim in here at an especially high tide. Fool! In any case, you don't think there's anyone else around, at least in this part of the cave. Ahead the cave juts upward to the north, though you can pick out a few areas where it would be easy to walk up to the next level. Various erosions from running water have made a few obvious gullets from level to level, and since it's (mostly) dry now, it shouldn't be too bad clambering up. Not optimal fighting ground, but ah well. You didn't expect deserted islands to keep their ramps up to code.

"I'm coming!" calls Robin, jogging to catch up. "Sorry guys. Bathroom break. You know how it is. Mornings. I'm the best at caves! This is gonna be cool." He strides confidently ahead, begging to bump into something nasty.

Sunose hurriedly trotted along, stirred from his thoughts by Nyx's call to action. "Yes, yes, coming!" he cried, edging along the wall and being careful of his footing. When stepping into the unknown, his mother had always told him that a bit of caution didn't hurt - not that he listened to most of her so-called advice. There were only so many times he could tolerate having his dreams of being a sailor crushed!

Thaddeus follows silently, Sasha perched on his shoulder to keep an eye and ear out. She couldn't let her idiot go and get killed now.

You head further in. This part of the cave appears to be a series of switchbacks heading about 10 feet up. It's rather windy, but the ledges are easy enough to pick out that climbing won't be too difficult. On the top ledge, you see two wooden doors, reinforcing your thoughts that this is some sort of secret pirate cave. Gosh! You always wanted to find one of these. The cave, however, is eerily quiet. Perhaps they're all lying in wait on the other side of those doors to murder you? That seems pirate-like.
