She pauses for a few moments in thought and wonder as she realizes that this may in fact be the day she leaves town. New books to read and sites to see excites her so very much and yet at the same time it's somewhat scary. Still she's known she'd have to leave someday. Iyani nudges her and she says, "Oh ahm well let's see. . ." She thinks a bit more concentrating on her l Dice Knowledge Local::

Mikayla knew that not much had been going on lately in Grava. It was a small town of barely 100 residents, composed of a couple of families and loners who liked the quiet atmosphere while still being connected to the outside world via the river and road. It was a rather safe village, crime was nearly nonexistent, and generally of the dispute in property ownership variety.
Though they had heard stirrings of the troubles to the north, the residents of Grava wanted nothing to do with them. A few weeks ago some troublemakers had tried to stir up revolution and were promptly kicked out and asked never to return. They had left with a few parting threats about someone named Icy John and his new god coming to teach them a lesson, but nobody took them seriously and nothing had happened since then. |

"Let's have a look at your oxen and cart then," Tayrren said to Mikayla. "After that I will look for a few supplies I forgot to grab. By the way, is there a firearms merchant near by? I could stand to pick up a few supplies there as well."

Mikayla knew that the general store, Caravan Cache, generally had a firearm or two to sell. Tayrren figured that as a general supply store, they probably have the saltpeter necessary for the creation of black powder and the lead for bullets.

Iyani pondered her thoughts a bit, Icy John, that name just sounds cold. as she does a little shiver dance. Ok, well... she let out a big yawn even though it was still early. Oh, Mikie, might you know anything about this? as she reached into her pocket and pulled out a stone, bearing some

Iyani grinned, Oh, nothing will ever rid you from that. then she giggled. Although I wonder how I ended up with Mikayla's smock. Is that smell the smell of a forge?
As they reach the water, Iyani takes no time and walks in as she disrobes in the water. She rinses her hair and looks out across the water and began to sing. Last edited by kaylara; Apr 2nd, 2014 at 11:51 PM. |

Mikayla shrugs, "Ah'll take a gander at that rock thingy fer yah. Also, mebbe later you can tell me more about Sheyln. Ah know some of the history, but not so much about the religion itself since our library doesn't have much onreligious worship of gods that ain't our local ones." She takes the item in hand as she speaks and examines it ponering its potential

Even as she's pondering the item she adds, "Oh ah think that there's mah smock. Mebbe ah rested in yer room a bit, can't rightly recall though as ah had alot ta drink." She's a bit embaressed by that point as she's not usually one for strong drinks. When Iyani gets around to bathing MIkayla gapes some as wshe watches and listens. Enraptured by beauty and song. With the women running down to the river, Tayrren was left with little to do other than browse the local shops. His first stop would be to a clothier to find something a bit more suiting to him, as well as better fitting. If he was going to portray a body guard he might as well look the part. He tried a few different outfits, but finally settled on a sturdy set of black boots, black leather breeches with an accompanying belt, a deep red shirt with a black vest with a diamond pattern. To round off his look he picked up a pair of black leather gloves, a dark grey cloak and a wide brimmed hat. Feeling satisfied with his Explorer's Outfit, 10gpurchase, he left the merchant and headed to the general good store.
He hadn't thought to bring rope before but now it seemed that it would be silly to travel without it. He picked up 50 feet of a fine silken rope as well as some string, a poncho and an everburning torch. Tayrren was beginning to feel a bit over burdened with the weight of everything he had picked up. It wasn't going to be easy traveling or fighting with all of this gear. He decided to head over to the stables to see if he might be able to purchase a good, strong donkey with a pack saddle. As Mikayla watched Iyani bathe she turned the stone over her hand and tried to think of what the carvings might mean. Like the others, she sensed the residue of necromantic type energy, but she simply couldn't match the runes. Nothing in her magical training had covered signs like these, and likewise her knowledge of history didn't contain anything resembling these marks. If anything, it was that lack of understanding that told her the most. If she knew nothing about this rock, then it was either a bit of junk scribbled on by kids (and the hints of magic would seem to belie that), or something so incredibly ancient that knowledge of it had been lost.
"Quite a sight huh, hee hee hee," Mikayla was broken from her reverie by old man Pherson, who was leering at Iyani in an almost comical way. In fact, now that she looked around, it seemed like quite a large percentage of Grava's male population had made their way down to the waters edge to watch the now locally famous singer bathe. Iyani didn't notice the crowd at first as she was engrossed in her song and bathe. A look of shock crossed her face as a mob of people began to gather. Then suddenly, like out of a Jaws film, she disappears under the water.
Under the water she dives to the bottom and dresses herself, then swims upstream a ways, thinking if they go looking for her they would look down stream, the direction a body would float. Eventually Dice stealth:
Once back at the inn, she doesn't even make eye contact with the others. Well that was not what I expected. Don't they bathe in the river? Geesh. Last edited by kaylara; Apr 3rd, 2014 at 10:42 PM. |

Mikayla nods to the old coot and then realizes she's been being just as bad as the old perv so returns to the inn where she finds the others. Once Iyani returns dressed and bathed she hands her the stone saying, "Nevah seen tha like of this. It's definately got some necromancy in it, but that's about all ah can tell. It's probably pretty ancient and lost to the history books ah've read.
She pauses a moment then adds, "Why in tarnation did ya bathe in that there stream nekkid anyhow? Is it a cultural thing? |

Tayrren purchased his gear, then walked the short distance to the stables, which were at the edge of town. The stables stood next to a copse of fruit bearing trees, and were in good repair.
Tayrren strolled in the front door to see a portly man grooming a horse. "Can I help ya?" the old man called out. |
