Prologue: Crowd Control

"No need to include my name, I'm just the bodyguard," Tayrren says as he dismisses the first name with a wave of his hand and a shake of his head. "You'll want something more fitting that anything I could come up with though."

[Adamah]

The three ate their meal, which was indeed free in consideration of the business their show would bring in that night. Word of their arrival had spread through town, and by the time the sun was beginning to set dozens of people were crammed in the tiny tavern, drinking, eating, and generally having a good time. From the stares, whispers, and giggles directed towards the three, it was clear that word of more than their musical ability had spread as well.

Finally Kallie gave them a look and jerked her head towards a corner with a raised platform. Showtime!

 

Perform checks, Mikayla is their as well, you're welcome to decide how she got to Grava and how connected she is with the town. I'll endeavor to give her incentive to go along with the party.

[Vaerdis]

Alain quickly whispers to Iyani before heading on stage, "Name, we are Sea and Sky, take it or leave it." He smiles daftly as he stands and walks towards the stage.

-- Before the Performance --
Iyani smiled, That's perfect! Sea and Sky we are then! as a slight dreamy look crossed her face.

Iyani sought out a wizard to help work the visual effects during the performance. She thought it odd to be directed to the Smithy, but she's known worse. This is when she first met Mikayla. Mikayla agreed to handle the lighting using a spell she called "Prestidigitation". They spent some time working out the thematic with the song.


-- Performance Time --
Kallie stepped up on stage as the Prestidigitation, small lighting effect by dimming or coloring the lighting (staining the lamp glass etc) then creates a small fog, not enough to cause any thing besides thematic.lighting dimmed and a small fog began to cover the stage.
Tonight I introduce to you the band known as, Sea and Sky! as the stage dimmed and Kallie stepped off and Alain and Iyani walked on with Tayrren close by keeping and eye on things and Mikayla working her magic on the script she worked out with Iyani.

As the fog rolled back an image of the ocean waves and nights sky appeared behind them as it looked like they stepped from a painting, Iyani looked around as she spoke out loud, Thank you all for coming. Before we start, I wanted to take a moment to introduce to you our members. Iyani points to each one as a light seems to light each one up as they are introduced.

Alain, vocals and instrumental.

Lets not leave out our newest member, one of your very own...Mikayla! she will be handling the effects
and I am Iyani, vocals.

After Alain finished, the music began to slow and more effects tiny flickering lights like fireflies began to fall about the stage. Iyani, This is a song for my patron Shelyn, titled Ocean Soul! Cool Down song.

Oh that was soo much fun. I can't wait till we go to a bigger city... Mikayla, would you care to join us in our traveling and adventuring? and of course some performances as required. it would appear that Iyani likes their new found friend. For not only could her magic be beneficial, but she was also a local, so if they are ever investigated, one will trace back locally.

- - - Before the Performance - - - Mikayla was in the smithy mending some pots. The fire was banked high and she was sweaty with concentration. A strange woman came by telling her that she needed a wizard. Mikayla laughed a bit and agreed since there weren't any other magic users in town, not even the librarian. She worked with the lady as best she could to use her prestidigitation spell for some special effects.

- - - Performance time - - - The song was truly an inspiration for the young blacksmith and wizard. She was transported to new worlds and a beauty she hadn't ever seen before. She did her best to work the spell to its limits and hoped everyone enjoyed it although showing off her talents in this area wasn't something she generally did, except for maybe a quick mending spell.

- - - After the performance - - - MIkayla smiled and stuttered a bit as she spoke, "Uh th th that www would be okay ah guess. The forge'll go to mah brother anyhow so 'ts not lahke ah have many prospects. Daddy woulda married me off, but no one wanted tha witch girl. Ah keep tellin folk's it's just wizardy you can fahnd it in the library fer gods sake . . ." The young girl smiles a bit and fiddles with her peasant top realizing she's stared to babble some in front of this pretty bard. "Uhm. . . well that is . . ." Never one for social interactions she's now a bit lost for what to say.

The performance was a memorable one. The town often had various musicians come through, but none had done such a good job of weaving magic and music together. There was much cheering, acclaim, and

gold thrown their way. By the end of the set they count up all the copper and silver thrown and find that they've made ten gold. There was also assorted marriage proposals, autographs signed, and one rather large half orc woman who decided that the band would appreciate seeing her chest sans shirt.

After the performance finished, the rest of the night was a blur of drinking, carousing, and possibly some bad decisions. No one was really sure because all their memories were a bit hazy the next morning, though Alain did find some suspiciously large undergarments in his room upon waking.

Kallie, true to her word and extremely pleased with the amount of business she garnered, served them a great meal in the morning. As she was heaping bacon, eggs and pastries in front of them, she asked, "So how long are you three planning on sticking around? That was quite some show last night."

"Well, I guess considering we were just dropped from our last job we don't specifically have anywhere we need to be. But it would be nice to find a town that is a bit larger." Tayrren knew better than he spoke though. There was somewhere they needed to be but he would do his best to keep the rouse alive. "We do tend to travel around though rather than stay in one place too long. That being said, another day here can't hurt. At least it would help us gain some bearings before just wandering off."

[Adamah]

"Ok, that sounds good to me. This is a tiny town so as good as you guys are, I doubt you'd be able to keep a regular thing going here for long," Kallie replied.

"If you're looking for any supplies, there's a few stores around here that might help you all out. Other than that, feel free to ask me any questions if you have any."

[ManicMonky]

"Thank you, Miss Kallie," Tayrren replies, "We shall have a look around town today after breakfast. But for now I think we'll just finish our breakfast and figure out what the plan is for tonight."

After the innkeeper left, he leaned in to the table and kept his voice low, "So that went pretty well, I didn't learn much about the area but the people seemed to enjoy the performance. And much thanks to you, young miss Mikayla. It really took the act to the next level. I'm probably going to have a look around town at some point today, perhaps I can find some provisions to help us on our travels" He pauses for a moment then adds, "And maybe some medication for you Alain, that was ... quite some woman you were with last night." A small snicker escaped his lips, hoping he hadn't stepped too far out of line in his comment.

[Vaerdis]

Alain was rubbing his head, "Best and first performance of my free life and I feel like I have been bedded with a horse..." he points at Teyrren menacingly, "If such a performance happened at the capital I would be far beyond the m-...adventuring life for awhile. Maybe I could afford a breastplate of mithral like Iyani is after..."

[Ysolde]

"Thank you Tayrren, I was happy to help. I can show you where the vendors are and maybe help you get a great price. She's unsure of the banter going about and just smiles shyly rubbing at her calused hands until the talk moves to Mithral.

"Oh Mithral! If ah could get mah hands on some ah'd really make somethin' nice. Someday ah might even be able to add some arcane bits inta it. Need ta find some better books than is here in tha library though. I guess y'all are goin to tha city right?"

[Vaerdis]

"A few towns, maybe a city." Alain says with the best smile he could muster at the time, "And the help is very much appreciated..." he was going to say her name there but trailed off due to a headache and lack of memorizing it before the performance.

[kaylara]

Thanks Miss Kallie. Iyani laughs at Alain as she tosses him the rather large undergarment from last-night. Your memento. Not sure that would even fit you. she shakes her head slightly.

Turning to Mikayla, I'm so glad you decided to come out of your smithy to join us. You did wonderful, wasn't that fun? Didn't you just love spreading love and happiness? Well, it's not like everyone does it all the time... I'm sure you will like the larger cities we go to next. They might have bigger libraries, smithy and Mithral. I'd love to get a hold of some to make a suit out of, it's such a beautiful metal. Oh Shelyn would be so happy... as her gaze looks over the rivers water.

Turning to the group as a whole, Well, what you say we gather food/supplies and head out to Cranston while the sun is bright still? Stop there for a day or two before heading to Godshome then?

"I think we should stay here for one more night and set out tomorrow morning. It will give us some time to talk to a few locals and to prepare for the trip." Glancing again at Alain, Tayrren adds, "And I think Alain could use a little time to recover."

"My first stop is going to see if I can find us a horse and wagon. No point in walking the entire time if we don't have to. It would also be easier to carry our supplies."

Iyani smiled, You make a very good point. Perhaps our good friend Mikaya might know something as well, seeing that she is from here. as she nudges Mikaya, So, might you know of anything going on around here? Whats the latest news? Should we stay away from certain areas etc?
