I just need to buy a torch, it's not like I could carry any more than that
![]() Keloryn's not necessarily the type to lead the group, but having heard of potential books in distress, he'd be pretty eager to get going.

I'm on board with buying stuff in the private threads.

I'm good, and I think I have what I need in my ranger's kit.

OK, GreatCthulhu, give me a survival roll. You're a ranger, and you have a map... don't roll a 1 or you'll never hear the end of it. I'll try to have a post up tonight and instructions for combat. Don't read much into that last sentence, you'll all be fine.

Whole party follows him into the wilderness never to be seen or head from again? :P

lol, let's hope not. While we're waiting, I'll go ahead and share what I've been building for combat maps. I thought I might have been a bit ambitious, but I like how it's coming together. Here's the website and your log-ins:
http://quintangible.com/RPGCrossing Log-in's probably not necessary, but it keeps people from accidentally moving someone else. So, any rolls would still go in your dice thread here. The map gives you the ability to position yourself and see where the enemies are and apply damage to them so that everyone knows where the battle stands at a glance. I'm probably going to give you the ac and hp up front just to make things move more smoothly. I know you can game the stats and let it influence where you attack and move, but things are cumbersome enough playing by post. I figure it balances out to let you immediately know if you hit or killed a creature, or missed horribly, so that you can write your posts more effectively. Oh, I gave you a toy dragon to beat up on. Also, you can do some cool stuff like heal each other by applying negative damage. Or just kill each other... you know, if you get mind-controlled or lycanthropy. It happens. Anyway, go ahead and play and let me know what you think. Definitely let me know if you can't use it. I tested mainly in Chrome, but I know browsers can be weird with this kind of stuff. If nothing else, you can tell me where you're moving and I can take care of entering the position and damage for you. Last edited by quintangible; May 4th, 2017 at 02:25 AM. |

Nice! Works fine for me. I like having a system like this, makes the game run so much more smoothly. It's easy for me not to meta-game.
How about Initiative? Do you want us to wait until everyone ahead of us posts, or just post in 'team batches'(not sure what to call it).

Yay, cool. I think batches should work best. Group of characters, group of enemies, rest of the characters, etc...

Survival roll is up. Oh, and super-cool tool, Quin. Really nice work. To the point, without any extra frilly crap. Applause.

I'm really glad that it seems it will work for everyone. The spiders rolled pretty bad, so you get a jump on most of them. But, then most of them get to act together. Should be interesting.
