Here's my character sheet. I think it's done. I may have missed something.

Stanley's sheet is done and placed as a link in my pull-down.
O'DM: I took two 'faith' traits without realising it -- if that's a problem, I'll change one to something else. I ran into a snag with the ones I *thought* I was going to take because the little bonuses they give would mostly have become irrelevant at bard level 2 (when 'versatile performance' will start to kick in and make some skill ranks and bonuses irrelevant). As far as meeting up with the party, I still think it could work to have Stanley thrown into the group by authorities keen on having a former river pirate (according to his stories at least) out of town -- perhaps he could even be a condition attached to the giving of the charter. 'He might be helpful, and we don't want him.' If that doesn't fit, then I'll just go along with whatever you all come up with. |

My thoughts on getting to know each other:
For the last year or so, Lamont has been spending stints of a few months at a time in the Port Ice, New Stetven, and finally Restov City Watch. This is to do his part in protecting the order of his nation, gain experience in the guardianship of civilization and also to work on spreading stability to the tense political atmosphere of Brevoy. So far, the latter of his goals has been fruitless until the whole granting of charters to explore and pacify unlawful activity in part of the River Kingdoms, which he jumped at to join. Birched: Since he has a bit of respect with the Restov City Watch, how would you take it if Lamont was designated Stan's parole officer for an early release? It might work out better than just throwing him at the group and saying "he's your problem now". Klomag: For Grannlaw, I was thinking perhaps he and Lamont met while Lamont was working for the Restov City Watch when the paladin brought Grannlaw some metalwork that needed doing? Since their deities are pretty similar in ways (Law/Commerce/Civilization vs Honor/Metalcraft/Strategy), the two could of struck up an easy friendship debating the finer points of their faith, politics, etc. moggthegob: Seeing as we are both playing noblemen of Brevoy, I'm sure Lamont and Alistair have met before at social functions/gatherings. And as they sound similar to one another in ways, maybe a friendly rivalry formed between them over the years? When they see each other again in Restov, I suppose they could join forces just so the one doesn't go off and conquer all of the River Kingdoms and leave the other in the dust. Anywho, just some ideas for some of the characters. On the topic of the new Pathfinder Character Sheets: Birched, I couldn't get the skills to show up for me either though it might be a script error on the one comp that I've only viewed it on so far. Regardless, I just entered them by hand for the time. Last edited by Ravenor; Mar 23rd, 2010 at 01:45 PM. |

Regarding Pathfinder and skills: at first I thought -- yay, fewer skills, now I'll have more skill points to toss around! But it turns out that skill points actually feel even more scarce than they did before! |

It was a bit before then, so I'll go back and test it later.

So red suiters...when can we expect a game folder for this here game? Oh and my guy is done unless I find a tweak or two...but done for all intents and purposes.

Yeah, I could definitely see Lamont and Grannlaw getting to know each other that way. I was actually thinking of transferring him retroactively to the Restov guard, rather than the Unnamed Town guard. Plus, my character's LG, and he has the Law domain, so that would be a strong conversation point.
Also, I don't think I get another language. I'm a human with +1 Int, so that's Common and Dwarven, right? Unless you thought my character was a dwarf :] (He'd be proud.) Last edited by Klomag; Mar 23rd, 2010 at 07:30 PM. |

I'm not sure how anyone would know Sartov before now. He was sent out by his tribe's elders to try to find a new land for their people where they wouldn't be hunted down by the crusaders in Mendev. So he is a fairly new arrival to Brevoy. He's signed on here hoping that any new kingdom we found will welcome his people.

Whew, been busy and didn't get a chance to partake in the discussion.
Between moggthegob and Ravenor's suggestions, I think we've got a fair setup - the 'main' party consists of the two 'rival nobles', the dwarf-who-is-not-a-dwarf, and the 'criminal' bard, with Karth (and possibly Sartov) signed on as the group hires for woodsy types. Which brings me to Chrystrom; I think what mogg said would work - maybe Karth and Sartov met not-so-long-ago (quite possibly on the trail into Brevoy/New Stetven/something), and while they might be acquaintances at best Sartov's desire to find a new land would give Karth a more solid reason to specifically be seeking out the 'Kingmakers'. And of course it gives Sartov a leg up on reaching his goal. In the overall group dynamic, Karth would probably come off as a little pushy in trying to assure that people like him - offering unsolicited help/advice/etc., doing favors and whatnot. Like mentioning to Sartov a great new job opportunity, as I said above. Anyway I'm going to get started on my sheet now. My long-term mechanical goals are to become a 'switch-hitter', splitting my focus between ranged and two-handed melee (usually by releasing an opening salvo of arrows until the enemies get close, then switching to a greatsword). Those of you who frequent the Paizo forums might recognize it as Treatmonk's idea. It's sort of like Aragorn's fighting style, I suppose. EDIT: Character-sheet in progress (can't finish up tonight): Karth Maheto Also, I've noticed one error; Swim is giving me a -8. I'm 95% sure Pathfinder completely removed the rule that you multiply the ACP by two for Swim (though encumbrance penalties still apply). I assume this was done in the name of streamlining things (much like Ride was given ACP despite that being incredibly silly). The relevant SRD entries to make my point: PF Swim 3.5 Swim

Owen I like your ideas with Sartov and Karth. They meet on the trail going into town...Karth heard Sartov's story and mentioned the possible idea of joining one of the groups heading to the stolen lands. It works...so we hooked up with the rest of the group as their 'guides.'
With what pathfinder did to the druid you have to make a choice at character creation really...to go all woodsy mystic or go Wild shaping front line fighter. Sartov is going the wild shaping front liner fighter route...so he'll be diving right into the fighting and spending a lot less time casting spells than a 3.5e Druid might have been doing. †
