So storywise I intend to have Simon have a side project of making a better race car, and possibly later entering it into races. Both legal and not-so-much. Love the idea of including others in the story, mixing everything in.

I've always been interested in playing Shadowrun, but I have zero experience and the only book I own is 5E core rules.

How difficult would this be for me to participate in without any materials or experience?

Also, are we jumping into a game midstream or is this a fresh game?

Currently the system this game is using is 4th Edition! I have the books as well for 5e and some 6e stuff, but since I am only familiar with 4e at the moment. I have modified it a bit to kind of fit the pbp style. If you have never played I highly recommend you apply if the game details works for you!

I would definitely make an effort to at least pick up the core rule book for 4e if accepted and the PDF isn't that expensive on Drivethrough RPG going for $15 USD. That being said!! You don't need it as I will work with you to get you familiar with the rules and do my best to explain how things work and what ive modified for my game. As mentioned Before I am very hands on and like to make sure players know what to roll and when to roll them and how to find it on their character sheet.

As far as experience you don't need any to join my game I will try and make playing a fun time both for in game storytelling and during combat scenes.

You will be joining a in progress game, currently we are in a great place to bring some one into the story and have plans to make it seemless rather than just "poof" your character appears right next to them from the void.
Currently the game has a ending in mind already as the game has been going on for two years as of this november. The system it self was built with ten missions in mind but duh to the nature of pbp and how long it takes I think have an ending goal is a good thing to insure we all see the light at the end of the tunnel persay to really strive our best to tell this amazing story together.

If accepted you would be joining in at the tail end of mission 2. There is Mission 3 and a Mission 4 still to go. The time table is probably a year per mission so far it seems by our posting rate. So you will get plenty of time to role play and enjoy the system.

Well, playing a "face" is usual my favorite type of role (along with skill monkey), but I know absolutely nothing about creating a character. I'd need to read through the materials to get my mind around the world and the character (and that's without delving into the, what I understand are, quite complex mechanics) before I could piece anything together.

So bottom line, I'm very interested, but I would need a good deal of time to create an actual application.

Feel free to Dm me if you have any question what so ever! I have included some links in the "Helpful Links" Section of the advertisement. You don't have to KNOW everything to make an application I would just understand the basics.

Its a cyberpunk setting based on the our own world and what would have happened if magic came back into our real world. Various countries breaking up into smaller countries. Think of "Ghost in the Shell" Meets Dungeons and Dragons.

Another good example is that one live action movie with Will Smith Called "Bright" if you watch the trailer on youtube that will also kinda give a good example of the basics. Accept its again cyberpunk.
