Were you going the Healer’s Hands route too? I figured that with Faith Healing would make a pretty decent fake cleric. Also being able to use fear spells on undead as a homemade Turn Undead.

No. That's a cool strategy for non-cleric healing, but there's no room for anything like that on this build (not the feat, and not even the Heal skill). I'm stapling the Celestial Totem effect line (and a bunch of other stuff) to the skald hybrid rage/song thing, especially in combination with the otherwise-useless path of glory spell line.

I'm looking at my options for improving the build in a heavy undead setting. I guess I can pick up ghostbane dirge as a spell known, although I don't really want to. Level 2 spell slots are my huckleberry, and relying on a save-negates spell never feels good. Because they have saves. That negate. However, I think I can move some stuff around and actually grant a bunch of anti-incorporeal effects to my allies; I'll have to look at what the opportunity cost is from doing that.

I wouldn't say no to a cleric friend no matter what. Clerics are good! And my Celestial Totem stuff interacts pretty well with them, too.

Doc' Archie can handle Ability Damage and Negative Level healing with his Psychic Sensitivity/Occult Mysticism, which further expands the amount of shenanigans he can already do with his skills.

I'm also looking into mundane Alchemy to suplement his skills, healing, and damage potential.

If your name is NOT called, I do have some good news for you... I am building a SECOND party, around Leo's Character, and you are welcome to submit for that group. That party will likely be a bit odder, darker perhaps, less "easily social", but they will jaunt off soon to face a different ghost story. MrJoe, if that meets your gaming needs, I will consider your PC to be accepted, or you can redesign one if you wish and apply with that new one.

Keeping the party in fighting form whether it's restoring health, ability scores or levels, and protection. Consecration! Obliterating phantasms with holy power! Ale?

Why you want to play:
It's been a while since I played PF or a cleric, and a game focused around undead, ghosts, and spirits sounds fun. I also like that this game is 6th level instead of 1st level. I'm also looking for a second game to occupy my time.

Are you okay with adventuring with Leo's PC... in a bit of a darker tone game? For example, you are a dwarf, what if he sticks with duergar? Can you handle the social friction?

When I "researched" it, I found it's actually quite hard to deal with ability drain and level drain at this level. Restoration is the big hitter and it's available only at level 7 (for Clerics) from what I can tell.

The Occult Skill Unlocks are certainly nice, but they have a relatively short duration - or need a very high skill check and 8h for removal (though perhaps you reached it, with enough investment!).

It's possible I missed some options, given the breadth of Pathfinder, of course.

I might apply with a multiclassed Mesmerist, with a "brighter" bent than Leo's PC, but he could be the "straight man" to all the odd creatures in the party.

Thank you, Admin Dirk, for the opportunity! I actually really like playing in games with somewhat nonstandard parties, because it can lead to creative solutions to situations that might otherwise have silver bullet answers. I'm really looking forward to this mix of characters, I think.

I can be flexible on race and or backstory. I was looking at alternate class features and planning to swap out for more undead/aberration focus.

I picked dwarf just because it benefits cleric the most. I could do a subrace dwarf or human or something else.

By Darker, are you saying that party might be on the side of the ghosts (or perhaps only on the same side by nature of alignment)? I mean there's good-aligned options vs undead and evil-aligned options.

Congratulations to those who are set to embark on Dirk's awesome Ghost Story! I knew my little Wyrwood would be a hard sell, but I just felt inspired to run with it. There's no need to create a whole second group for my crazy self, hehe.

too late, I already have the prologue written, and a team forming around you.

FYI, your team will NOT have to necessarily get along and know each other, but for survival, you better learn to work together quick.

As for "darker", I tend to mean a bit more gritty. I suspect that the BBEG on this island is probably more evil than any of you, so you can either fight him to destroy him, or if you are evil too, it may be threatened, and find the easiest way to deal with you is destroying you.
