Which brings another interesting question, can a Noble bring their retinue - eg guards, servants, hanger-ons?

Accident? The amount of time noble mothers spend pouring over financial and genealogical records hardly qualifies their children's breeding as accidental. It more like making a carefully researched investment today.

Technically, humans are humanoid, but there are a few. The city is 80% human, so 12 out of 15 applicants being human characters is actually a pretty accurate representation.
