Patchouli "Petra" Lockheart
1st Level ✿ Human?
So Many Choices, So Little Time
Petra is meant to be a 'healer' of some kind, but I'm open as to what her actual class is. My thoughts:
Cleric: Wanting to try Peace Domain (Eldath as her deity), but Life could work too.
Druid: I was thinking Circle of Stars, or perhaps Shepherd.
Artificer: Its a bit on the nose, but Alchemist would fit, I think.
Healer?Or Folk HeroOutlander

Pronouns: Feminine (She/her) ✿ Age: 27
Description
Though appearing to be little more than a meek girl with the look of a simple commoner in a long, slightly-oversized brown robe, beneath it is a surprisingly well-built young woman whose body is used to hoofing it in the wilderness, and what she lacks in strength, she makes up in hardiness and agility.
She has a soft, 'cute' face with large amber eyes and a rust-colored hair that stops just short of touching her shoulders, the back held up by a headscarf.
Personality
A gentle, soft-spoken young woman whose very presence radiates kindness, Patchouli--or 'Petra', as most people call her--is a sweet cinnamon roll who travels from town to town, plying her skill as a healer and an herbalist. She is generally outgoing, in her own way at least, and is always the first to reach out a hand to someone in need.
Of course, she isn't without he flaws. She is horribly naďve and incredibly gullible, and sometimes lets her anxieties get the better of her.
While not a personality trait, per se, Petra is more often than not characterized by her 'curse' of bad luck, especially when it comes to people, as it seems like not matter how hard she tries, she invariably pushes others away. As such, she leads a lonely, solitary life, with the hope of a better tomorrow on each horizon.
Backstory
Petra was born into a simple, rustic way of life in a rural back country. Her father was a woodsman, and her mother was a retired chef. She had one older brother, a baby sister, and a dog. They were a loving family, at least...until they weren't anymore.
No wanting to burden her parents with the weight of raising such a luckless child that only seemed to bring them hardship, Petra ran away from home in her early teens, using her survival know-how and cooking skills to keep her fed, and doing odd herbalist jobs to fund her travels.
One day, she's sure, she'll find a place to call home, and people to call friends.
Trait: I would rather make a new friend than a new enemy.

Trait: I feel far more comfortable around animals than people.

Ideal: Charity. I always try to help those in need, no matter what the personal cost. (Good)

Bond: I protect those who cannot protect themselves.

Flaw: I have a 'tell' that reveals when I'm lying.

Character Description: Like many hobgoblin swordsmen, Bo wears his hair long and keeps his gear well-cared for. Unlike most hobgoblins, he smiles often and says "please" and "thank you" at the dinner table. Sir Bogrek is often in the company of his retainers: His armor bearer Marloosh, his adolescent squire Fengberk, and his goblin cook Chicken Beak.

Personality Traits: Friendly. Assumes the best of people. Yearns to disginguish himself in some valiant feat or arms or perish trying. Loves breakfast for dinner.
Ideal: It is my duty to protect and care for the people beneath me.
Bond: My squire, Fengberk. I will do whatever I can to set a good example for the lil guy.
Flaw: I have never met a problem that I didn't want to stick my nose directly into.

Background (Knight): Bogrek is the third son of Chieftan Grexes Shatterbone, the leader of a powerful clan of Hobgoblins. One day, the Chief brought his sons a chest of goods looted from the human lands. Among the loot was a tale of chivalry, knightly virtues, and honor. A young Bo found hismelf transfixed by these stories of honorable combat, and as he grew, the lessons of chivalric warfare stuck with him.

As Bo reached adulthood, the clan elders considered what to do about this burgeoning problem. The lad could certainly fight, and even seemed to wield a certain amount of shamanic power. But all this business of "honorable combat" and "knightly duty" didn't exactly mesh well with the clan's ruthless way of of conquest and dominion. The elders considered arranging a convenient accident, but deciced on the next best thing. They convinced Bo that to achieve his chivalric ideals, he needed to go questing as a Knight Errant, preferably someplace far from home.

And so Bogrek Shatterbone set out into the wider world to find his destiny and live out the virtuous legends that he holds so dear.

Just to be clear, my character's base concept is effectively 'complete'. Her class is mutable, but she'll be some kind of healer; I figured I would choose the best fit to support everyone once the party is decided.

If its absolutely necessary that I pick now, though, then I'm leaning Cleric of Peace.

This is an old character I never quite got the chance to play, but I am more than willing to modify parts of his background to fit the game setting better! I just thought he'd fit best, since this is all about helping those in need.

Character Description: Kairhim stands six feet and one inch tall with a somewhat heavy frame of around 225 lbs. He has green eyes and light brown hair, with gold-ish dragon-scale looking skin on his face and other areas on his outer facing body parts. He's been said to have a terminally handsome look about him, but once he starts speaking and interacting, he can be quite charming and friendly. He looks older than his 28 years of age, and wears nice, but simple travelers clothes with a shouldered pack, dagger in his belt and a quarterstaff.

Background: Hailing originally from Baldur's Gate, he now likes to call the road his home. He has a signet ring with a unicorn visage upon it and tends to sound more like a Bard than the "Wizardly type" that he presents when adventuring. Only those who he trusts learn of his past, and it's truly an odd one.
He was born the 4th son of the 4th son of a 4th son. It was said he would be a promised gift to his bloodline, but upon seeing him born a barrel-chested boy with patches of gold-ish dragon scales all over his body, his Courtesan parents thought their hopes were dashed.
He grew as any other boy, save his odd skin scales, and grew to love the story of what his birth was supposed to be a culmination of. His innate magic begin to manifest in his mid teens and he mostly stayed near home until he felt he had learned to harness his inborn power enough to be a true adventurer like the tenets of the very order he joined a few years back.

Most that meet Fen, read his as aloof and distant. A smuggler more focused on the coin than any moral factors. Few care to look deeper. When the baby began to cry at a checkpoint, he gave the guards all his gold to let them pass.

Ideal:Obsession I’ve lived this way for so long that I can’t imagine another way.
Flaw: I know the ends always justify the means and am quick to make sacrifices to attain my goals.

Appearance: An older pale man, with ashen skin almost as colorless as his hair. His grim countenance a permanent fixture on an otherwise unremarkable face. It is said that occasionally his grimace can turn into a twisted and humorless smile, but those that claim to witness it say it was more horrible than any bloodcurdling scream.
Personality: Josiah is a man of focus, dedicated to a set of ideals and unbreakable morals as he sets out to bring order and justice to a world gone mad. Even amongst his brethren in the church Josiah is considered a zealot, his views of Law and Order black and white with no room for compromise. In pursuit of his ideal for Order many have questioned his compassion, and if he is an evil man. But Father Banefinn cares not, for too long the people in his life have confused Order for balance, but Josiah cares little for balance, he cares little if good or evil rules the day, only that laws are followed and Order is maintained.
Backstory: Deposited upon the doorstep of a cloister of Tyr at a young age, a foundling child given the name of Josiah was raised in Tyr’s one-armed embrace. Years passed and the boy became a man, his dedication to the teachings of Tyr only strengthening as the years lent seasoning to his already considerable natural talents. His pursuit of Law and Order lead Josiah to join Tyr’s Justiciars, an elite force of law-keepers empowered by their god to bring criminals to justice and order to chaos. Having spent half his life tracking down criminals and solving crimes in Tyr’s name, Josiah has noticed the years start to creep up on him. While his mind is still sharp and his senses keen, already he has started to lose a step, falling behind physically to younger more eager Justiciars.

Couple of announcements, everyone! The first is, because we've gotten so many applications already, I'm going to close the thread early. The new deadline is tomorrow, February 9th, at 23 59 EST, so if you've still got any finishing touches you'd like to out on your app, now is the time to do it, and if you've been debating submitting one, you've got just over 36 hours to get it done.

The second announcement is that, because I've already gotten enough apps to run the game twice over, that's what I'm going to do. I'll be accept two groups of players, the first group will start Monday February 10th after notices go out, and the second will start two weeks after that, on Monday February 24th. The two groups will both be part of the Order of the Helping Hand and exist separately but in the same universe, so decisions one group makes may affect the other and vice versa. Let me know if you have any questions on how that will work!

That also has the added bonus of being able to fold the two groups together later if there are casualties or players drop out. Other than that though I would be all for a bit of friendly rivalry.
