Korrvakk, the Silent Guardian
Species: Wookiee
Class: Guardian
Archetype: Shien
Background: Jedi
Gender: Male
Homeworld : Kashyyyk
Age: 185
Alignment: Lawful Good
Lightsaber: A greatsaber with a crossguard, crackling with blue energy
Philosophy: The Strength to Protect, the patience to endure
Appearance:
This Wookiee warrior is a towering fusion of samurai discipline and knightly valor. His thick, battle-worn fur cloaks the mantle of a war-scarred champion. His glowing eyes burn with the silent intensity of a seasoned swordsman, and his fanged snarl hints at both restraint and the fury of a warrior unleashed.
His armor is a masterful blend of Wookiee craftsmanship, samurai precision, and knightly fortitude. A scale-textured cuirass reinforced with engraved plate protects his chest, while lacquered pauldrons and segmented bracers guard his arms. His legs, wrapped in cloth bindings and plated greaves, carry the weight of both duty and purpose. A long, tattered cloak, like the banner of a fallen order, flows behind him.
His belt holds relics of a lost past—totems of his people, tools of war, and symbols of an oath sworn in blood and honor.
In his grasp, a massive greatsaber crackles with blue energy when erupted. Its hilt forged of near weightlessness songsteel and Woven Wroshyr wood fibers reinforce the grip. Adorned with intricate engravings and an unrefined, raw kyber crystal, this blade is wielded with both the precision of a samurai and the might of a knight.
But it is more than a weapon—it is a symbol, a vestige of an oath long upheld, and the last remaining testament to a warrior’s forgotten legacy.
Translation:
Korrvakk communicates through an E-Com translator, a device he originally used in peacekeeping missions to enhance negotiations and diplomatic efforts. His natural speech is slow, guttural, and gnarled, carrying the deep, resonant timbre of a Wookiee. Each word rough and rumbling like distant storms, making his presence felt even before the translator converts his voice into more refined speech.
Personality
Korrvakk stands as a towering figure, steadfast in loyalty, honor, and tradition—virtues woven into his very being. Fiercely protective of his friends, family, and tribe, his devotion runs deep, guided by a strong moral code rooted in fairness, discipline, and the well-being of his people. Like the warriors of old, he embraces duty with unwavering resolve, facing challenges with courage and an unshakable sense of purpose. His bond with nature instills patience and understanding, and though he often appears reserved, his emotions are steady and controlled, yet undeniable when stirred. Among his kin, unwavering devotion, life debts, and ancestral traditions form the foundation of their identity. To Korrvakk, as in all things, balance is not just important—it is everything.
Backstory:
Born of the Temple, Raised in Balance
Deep within the ancient Temple of the Rising Moon on Kashyyyk, Korrvakk was born to two of its most respected caretakers, Elder Varrakka and Keeper Thurrokk. The temple, hidden within the high branches of the wroshyr trees, was a sanctuary for Wookiee mystics who attuned themselves to the Living Force. Unlike Jedi temples across the galaxy, this sacred place was not one of training for warriors but of deep reflection, harmony, and preservation of Force knowledge.
From an early age, Korrvakk was taught that true strength is not in battle but in restraint. His people revered him not for his size or power, but for his wisdom—his ability to listen, to feel the Force in the trees, and to see beyond anger and violence. Yet, the Jedi Order sensed the potential within him, and with his parents' blessing, he left Kashyyyk to train as a Guardian in the sacred halls of the Jedi.
A Shield, Not a Sword
At the Jedi Temple, Korrvakk quickly stood out. Towering over his fellow Padawans, his immense size and natural strength made him a formidable warrior, yet he never sought battle. Instead, he embraced the path of a Peaceful Guardian, using his power to protect rather than to conquer.
Where others honed their lightsaber techniques for combat, Korrvakk mastered defensive forms—Shien, Soresu, and even elements of Niman. He built a unique greatsaber, larger than most Jedi weapons, designed to intercept attacks rather than strike down foes. His connection to the Force allowed him to absorb conflict, redirecting aggression into calm resolution. Even among the Jedi, he was seen as a rare presence—a warrior who did not seek war.
The Battle He Could Not Walk Away From
For centuries, the Old Republic flourished, and Korrvakk served as a protector of peace. He acted as a guardian of temples, a mediator in conflicts, and a defender of those who could not fight for themselves. His legend spread, not as a warrior who vanquished foes, but as one who could end battles before they began.
But peace is fragile.
When Sith forces launched an attack on Kashyyyk, seeking to corrupt the Temple of the Rising Moon, Korrvakk was faced with an impossible choice. The temple, his home, his family’s legacy, stood defenseless. The Wookiee people, who had lived in harmony with the Force, were suddenly caught in a war they had no part in. For the first time in centuries, Korrvakk took up his blade—not to seek vengeance, but to stand as a wall between darkness and his home.
The battle was long and brutal, but Korrvakk did not falter. He fought with the strength of Kashyyyk itself, his greatsaber carving through Sith forces while his mind remained calm as the ancient trees. He did not seek to kill—only to defend, only to push back the tide. And in the end, the temple stood, its knowledge preserved.
The Last Guardian
Though the Sith were repelled, the cost was great. The temple was abandoned, its monks scattered, its caretakers lost to the fires of war. With his home in ruin and his purpose shaken, Korrvakk chose exile, retreating deep into the Shadowlands. There, he continued his parents' legacy—not as a Jedi Knight of the Republic, but as a guardian of what remained.
Legends speak of a lone Wookiee warrior, his glowing blade appearing in the darkest of nights, defending Kashyyyk’s sacred places from those who seek to exploit them. He is no conqueror, no hero of war. He is Korrvakk, the Silent Guardian. The last protector of a forgotten peace.
And as long as he stands, the spirit of the Jedi will never fade.
Opportunity knocks
Even in exile, Korrvakk could not remain completely hidden. The Shadowlands of Kashyyyk were dangerous—not just because of the monstrous creatures lurking within, but because of the criminals who sought refuge in its depths. Slavers, poachers, and war profiteers saw the Wookiee homeworld as a land of opportunity, ripe for exploitation.
Among these intruders were agents of lord Xanathar, a rising power within the Bareesh Kajidic. Unlike most of his kind, Xanathar was not a slaver—he was a collector. He sought ancient artifacts, forgotten temples, and the remnants of civilizations lost to time. When whispers of a ruined Wookiee temple deep in the Shadowlands reached his ears, he sent mercenaries to claim its secrets.
But they found something else instead—a guardian who refused to let history be stolen.
A Bargain in the Dark
Xanathars. forces expected primitive Wookiee resistance, not a Jedi still strong in the Force. Korrvakk cut through the first wave of mercenaries like a storm through the trees, his greatsaber flashing in the darkness. But Xanathar was no fool. Instead of sending more troops to their deaths, he requested an audience.
For the first time in years, Korrvakk left the Shadowlands and stood before a Hutt, not as an enemy, but as an equal. Xanathar, always the strategist, offered a deal—he would leave Kashyyyk’s sacred sites untouched in exchange for knowledge. He did not want to plunder the ruins, only to understand them. The Jedi were fading from the galaxy, and their wisdom—especially that of an ancient Wookiee sect—was valuable beyond measure.
Korrvakk did not trust the Hutt, but he saw a path forward. If he refused, more would come. If he accepted, he could control what knowledge was shared, ensuring that Kashyyyk’s secrets were preserved rather than exploited. And so, an unlikely alliance was born.
An Unlikely Guardian for an Unlikely Friend
Over the years, Korrvakk became an unseen hand in Xanathars dealings, guiding the Hutt away from outright destruction and toward a more balanced pursuit of knowledge. In return, Xanathar ensured that no slaver cartel under his influence touched Kashyyyk.
But Korrvakk’s involvement went deeper than he expected. When Xanathars enemies—a rival Hutt syndicate backed by Sith artifacts traders—tried to assassinate him, it was Korrvakk who intercepted the strike team. Not for the Hutt’s sake, but because Sith corruption could not be allowed to spread.
Now, in the depths of the underworld, rumors swirl of a silent Wookiee protector who sometimes walks among the Hutt courts. A warrior who does not kill for money, does not bow to crime, but moves with purpose that none can understand.
For Korrvakk, the Jedi Order may be in ruins, but his duty remains. He is still a guardian—not just of Kashyyyk, but of knowledge itself.
Even if it means standing beside a Hutt to protect the future.
Ally: Jynka Solari - Jedi Consular
Background: Jynka Solari is a skilled Jedi Consular and mediator who has worked alongside Korrvakk during numerous peacekeeping missions throughout the galaxy. Calm, focused, and empathetic, Jynka shares Korrvakk's desire to resolve conflicts with minimal violence, using knowledge, reason, and diplomacy. Though they often take different approaches to their missions—where Korrvakk leans toward restraint and defense, Jynka prefers to disarm with wisdom—they share a deep respect for each other’s dedication. Over the years, Jynka has become Korrvakk’s close friend and confidante, often acting as a voice of reason when Korrvakk feels torn between his Jedi ideals and the harsh realities he faces.
Ally: Wikka the Fearless
Background: A cunning and spirited Ewok from the forest moon of Endor, Wikka is far more than her small size suggests. Trained as a scout and survivalist, she was taken from Endor by slavers but escaped, eventually crossing paths with Korrvakk. Impressed by her resourcefulness and indomitable will, he took her under his protection. Despite their vast difference in size, Wikka sees herself as Korrvakk’s equal, often reminding him that "small warriors can cast big shadows." Armed with a modified bowcaster and an endless supply of tricks, she serves as his scout, messenger, and occasional mischief-maker—often getting them into trouble as much as she gets them out of it.
Rival: Veldrakk the Forsworn
Species: Wookiee (Exile and Betrayer)
Once a proud warrior of Korrvakk’s Wookiee tribe, Veldrakk turned his back on their traditions, believing honor and loyalty to be weaknesses that shackled the strong. Cast out for his betrayal, he became a feared mercenary and warlord, forging his own path through blood and conflict. His once-proud fur is now marred by deep scars and burns, each a testament to the battles he has endured. His piercing gaze is sharp and calculating, always searching for the next opportunity to strike.
Veldrakk is a master of close-quarters combat, wielding twin cortosis-forged vibroswords with ruthless efficiency. Unlike Korrvakk, who embodies endurance and resilience, Veldrakk fights with relentless aggression, using speed, deception, and sheer brute force to overwhelm his enemies. He wears custom battle armor that balances mobility with protection, and he is never above using ambush tactics or psychological warfare to break his foes before the fight even begins.
Once like brothers, Korrvakk and Veldrakk now stand as bitter rivals, their conflict rooted not just in personal betrayal but in opposing ideologies. Where Korrvakk holds fast to the values of his people, Veldrakk seeks to prove that only those willing to abandon tradition and seize power on their own terms can truly survive. To Korrvakk, his former brother represents everything he stands against—a warrior without honor, driven only by ambition. Their battles are not just a test of strength, but of belief, with the very legacy of their people hanging in the balance
