But given his backstory the Nemesis (Sir Balin or a NPC who was a high-ranking member of the Church of Mitra who my character feels personal enmity for) or Vengeance (Church of Mitra) general Story feats seem like they'd work well and provide a lot of roleplaying opportunities.

Nemesis would probably be better since it can be specifically tailored for this campaign. For example my character could have had a rival student who now sees it as his personal mission to bring my character to justice.

I was mistaken. The feat I had in mind was Magical Aptitude: +2 bonus on Spellcraft and Use Magic Device checks.


The only problem granting the story feats like Nemesis or Vengeance, is that they sort of would apply to everyone? The story prompt was for people to make me believe they hate Sir Balin. So everyone could list him as a Nemesis.

This Nemesis is also relatively new. You were *just* arrested and *just* sentenced to death, and then shipped off to Branderscar. The stay isn't long. You've only been at Branderscar a week to a month or so before the game starts.

The general feat I offer to players for free is meant more as a background thing.


For those of you confused about all this general feat talk. In the private discussions, I had brought up to players who no longer required additional reviews the fact that I offer [1] free general feat at level one. I usually offer a small list of suggestions based on the character, but I am also open to suggestions before the feat is locked in. I haven't brought this up with everyone yet, because not everyone is at this stage.

I had some fun and played with an Ai Art generator. Do any of these by chance jump at you?

I generally avoid Ai art for any character that I play unless to use as a basis for a commission. I liked the sketch one as well & do think it works pretty well for any tokens or anything like that if needed. I will say though finding Undine art is HARD surprisingly not much of it that's not from undertale & I was very wary about using anything from that simply due to how obviously inhuman they look when we needed something more lowkey.

Ath, I think we can both agree on the sketch picture as being pretty cool. I really enjoy using the AI generator, I don't mind the imperfections. I just try to find one with the least.

Yeah, I do like the sketch. Sketch work always makes me think of older editions which I enjoy. So, we'll def use it for tokens or the like! I like a lot of the other characters so far as well, some creativity in some of them.
