Not really this was a 8 years ago. I was there helping my uncle cut wood for the season and his buddy and his wife were both American tree planters. I kind of said buddy probably using it as liberal as you can get.

but growing up camping and hiking that would have been a great career path, but I chose the navy instead. but I hope your season is a mild one seems like a mild year this year we had snow at 2500' yesterday around the Yosemite area so the cool weather is upon us this year. as always tho by July it will be 100 deg.

New player here, just posting my interest for the Westmarches campaign. I'll admit that I'd prefer it be done with Pathfinder, as it's the only rules I have any experience with. However, I have time to hit the books if needed.

Ah, no worries a1hamms. Things change a lot from year to year, too.

This year, I'm in Whitecourt area; Slave Lake, 200 KM north of me (150 miles); has been evacuated and partially destroyed. If winds change direction my work may be delayed...a little too mild, to say the least.

@Gunslinger: I frequently debate with myself (and sometimes other members of the forum) the merits versus negative parts of pathfinder. Ultimately, I'd be willing to port in the positive things on a case by case basis.

Really disappointed to hear that your West Marches game will be 3.5, as I would love to play but I only play 4e.

But I am working on a West Marches-style sandbox game of my own that's going to be in the Nentir Vale area (it's the 4e default campaign setting).

Just wanted to let you know that I'd be happy to share ideas, random encounter tables, or whatever with you when you get back.

Saw the link in your sig - you captured my attention with your multiple-colored note, and when I read the bit about the West Marches, my curiosity was further piqued.

I'm going to play the same tune I've been playing for most of the games I've applied for in the past several weeks and ask if you'd be willing to take a look at the Mana system I'm working on, but apart from that I'm posting general interest for when you come back.

Back. Will be 2-3 days moving and sorting out life, then 5-7 days finishing the first 10 westmarch areas, then 3-5 days sending them for peer review, probably putting up applications in the same time frame.

I am highly intrigued by both the chess game and the build-a-city game, especially the latter... if my life was more stable, I'd apply for that. As it is, I think I'll be lurking, and if things settle down in the near future I might try to jump in (or replace someone if they drop).

So, I've got a wireless router in the mail, supposedly coming in between the 15th and 23rd. The day it goes up (unless I get truly impatient) is the day the advertisement for the first game (the Westmarches) goes up; that advertisement will be up for one week. Depending on how I feel, the chess game is next, running through September/October.

i've been looking for an outlet for some RPing for some time now, mostly to exercise a pent up imagination since i haven't had regular gaming for a few years now. If it is possible, i really really want to sign up for the build a city campaign... i'm simply an aspiring philosopher/college student/trouble maker.... working on those 4 posts i need now to get the "full membership" .. will proceed to lurk around this forum and post where appropriate.

Ahhh, seems like we're finally getting down to the wire here. I would love to get into a game that gets back down to the basics. I'm new to the forums here and still tryin to get into a good game. This one sounds like my kind of deal though I'm not the biggest optimizer; I really prefer to just swing through the adventure of it all. Looking forward to your registration thread.
