Any chance you could make the adventure threads visible? Or be kind enough to let me in to follow along? I confess interest both on a general level and on a "looking for ideas to steal" level. |

So that explains why I am seeing things now. Here I thought I was green with envy.

I am willing to add readers to threads (on the typical condition; no spoilers for other parties, and if you join with a character, you do not get the knowledge you got from reading people's threads). Also, if you want to void any chance at participating in future games, I'm willing to send you all my notes.
Edit: Added Sulldawga

What are the chances you'll ever play with a rules system different than 3.5e/Pathfinder?

...Werewolf, IRL, on rare occasion. Some D20 modern. But DM here in it? 0% in next 3-4 years, possibly 5% in next 10 years?

Well, I have to confess I'm still keeping the idea of playing in your game as a replacement in my back pocket. Use the SRD and play a vanilla fighter or something. Just to get in the mix.
So I'll hold off on requesting to see your notes, even though they intrigue me greatly. I'm happy to share everything I've built with you, with the same caveats. I'd invite you to follow along with my game but my players keep dropping like flies. We're on hiatus again. *sigh* Last edited by Sulldawga; Aug 29th, 2011 at 11:47 PM. |

That is because you are trying to run a 4e game Sulldawga. Play the tried and true 3.5e instead.

Truth is, I want to run a 1e game. Rules lite, more emphasis on roleplaying and freestyle PC action. But my loyal players are all 4e veterans so... such is life!

Neither is a system I'm familiar with. I have the main 4e books, but haven't taken the time to learn it when most games I play on here are 3.5e or Pathfinder. But I'm sure I'll pick them up someday to dust them off and might even read a page or two.

I had a 3.5e guy in my 4e game. He did ok, there aren't that many major differences between the two, and the rest of us were able to correct him when he tried something that wasn't kosher.

I tried one 4e game on site, but I had to get out before any combat started due to real life issues that took me away from the site for a while.

Just dropping by to say I'm willing to help 4E converts who want to join in the sandbox madness And I'm glad I'm in CE's game so I can pilfer what I want for my own.

Some of you may know, I'm a treeplanter, which means leaving in may for a job; I don't post over the summers. I'm also finishing my 5th year of a political science/philosophy double major; and am uncertain about what I'll do with the future; though it looks like a few years of travelling; some cheap living in Asia, some hostelling and woofing, some treeplanting in Australia and Scotland, other odd work. I might teach in Korea for a year, I may do a Fire Watch Tower one summer.
I might, of course, grow weary of the wanderers life, but who knows how long that will take. A year, three, five (I give 60-80% odds on 2 or 3 years)? Eventually I'll settle back down and do a two years Masters (50-60% odds) (Likely in Political Science, though we'll see how media studies programs look when I get back). Past that, it's too hard to say who I'll be or what my life will look like. But regardless, this adds up to me spending some time away from DNDOG. Possibly years. As such, I'm stepping down from the moderator staff. To the moderator staff; I have always loved volunteering with you guys, and even when we've disagreed about things, I've always had the utmost and most sincere respect. Shout outs to; Hennet (Admin Axeman); You did pervy so well I never thought you'd be a moderator, much less a positive contribution to the site . Teasing aside, you rock Sedracus; lots of good conversations on MSN. See you in Europe sometimes, perhaps? Hvg3akaek: You always ran precise, well organized, and cool games. You're my inspiration...even though you switched to 4e. JJWolven: We disagreed on basic analytical points at basically every opportunity, and it still seems like we are near irreconcileabe opposites when it comes to analysis of both D&D and social structures. You forced me to think harder, and I truly appreciate that. Zhef: Like JJWolven, except we agreed slightly more. Former moderators: Aosaw: Here's to Milkshake's, eh? Symthrell: You got me in over my head and then left, jerk Nah, kidding; you created something that has influenced the way thousands of people have learned DND, and it was a pleasure to work with you on that. Magrok: Winner! Also, playing Starcraft in a D&D game? Hilarious. Jayrob: You were clever. Nightstalkers: You went in the night. We did not notice your leaving, but felt your absence profoundly. Everyone else; I probably think good things about you, but am forgetting it in the time being. DNDOG has been a truly awesome and happy past-time for over the last...I just found my welcome to the moderator staff PM from August 2007. So 4 years, 7 months. I've really enjoyed it, and coming back to it each summer after tree-planting (though that sometimes made games hard.) Things have been loads of fun, and I'll sorely miss this place. I'll still be here infrequently; I actually am looking for people to visit. I doubt I'll spend much time in the states, but you never know, and any overseas DNDOG members I'll happily couch surf for a day or two and explore whatever town or city you happen to live in with the eyes of a person who's never been there before. Anyways, thanks, and game on. I'll still be around a bit these next few weeks as I pack up. -CE2JRH
