My first character was a drunken dwarf warrior. It was my first time playing along with my friend, who played the same character type. We ended up falling into some caves and ran into a baby dragon. After offering him some drinks we didnt make it out. But it was a great first introduction to this amazing game.

My first character was a Ranger with bow path (D&D 3.5). In my first game, he holds his own against goblin raids by making the inn he stayed upon as fortress until the goblin boss comes. The goblin boss is a Bugbear and confusingly, me and my two companions can't seems to kill him. We burn couple of houses just to kill him and at last successfully bury the bugbear in one of the burning houses. It is unfortunate that one of my companion fell in the way.
Then both of us found a cave full of riches inside a pitfall to guard it. At that time, my character has completely fed up with my friend's character's luck. So my character dropped his friend ("accidentally" of course ) couple times until his death and takes all of the loots. And then he lives happily after as innkeeper because my DM has enough of party backstabbing .

Sir Michael (Can't remember the rest because the name got to about three lines worth) was a Cavalier from the original Unearthed Arcana.
His early career was best known for killing off his steed, whether it came from the breath of a dragon, or jumping from a cliff, no matter what the situation the evil DM killed that darn horse thus making a NOBLE walk!! His final campaign was left incomplete as he fought a black knight. Michael fired a Balista scoring a natural 20, but it didn't hit the black knight. It was the first time Michael made another Noble walk. He defeated witches, demons (from the Fiend Folio (brrr scarey stuff)), dragons, and Anti-Paladins. Eventually, we had to transfer to different units and the legend of Sir Michael faded into history. It wasn't long after my transfer that Unearthed Arcana became thought of as too powerful, but with a great DM holding dastardly plots with pure evil books like that Fiend Folio. It was balanced enough. 2nd Edition took over and chopped away at the legend of 1st edition.

Never played D&D myself yet. Wanted to play so started researching and learning it when the new edition came out. Have been a DM for some of my friends for the past few sessions. One of them is going to DM the next session so that will be my first actual taste at playing I am however very excited. My characters name is Ailas Harding a Half-Elf Sorcerer with the Charlatan background. I am pretty proud of his background however sad it may be.
Ailas watched his mother get killed before his eyes as he was taken from his village by bandits. The bandits sold him to Acolytes of some unnamed religion. They had been buying children and attempting to infuse their blood with that of a red dragon. While the blood was being transferred something went wrong and a burst of energy killed everyone in the room except for Ailas. The dragon had been freed and flew away. Ailas grew up on the streets and learnt to con people out of their money. At 18 he got a girl pregnent. After the girl was born they were married. One day Ailas conned the wrong person and upon returning home found his wife and child dead. After mourning the death of his wife and child Ailas turned to a life of adventuring to make himself stronger so that none of his friends would ever die again not if he could do anything about it. I'm super keen to play!! |

My first character was a Basic D&D thief. He had a hand axe and a large sack. He was killed by wolves at a dungeon entrance.

My first character was a Shienarian (Human from Robert Jordan's WOT) archer and bowmaker. Pade Therain had awesome physical stats but his sense of duty kept messing up with the quests the DM prepared for the Party. He wanted to go home and fight Trollocs, not dicker around helping villagers with local bear problems.
This was part of the reason why the game died.

Mine was in Pathfinder. Eston Vandyne, human cleric of... Well, it would have been Zohls the detective angel, but she wasn't in any of the books at the time, so just a Cleric of The Very Concept of Law and Deductive Reasoning. His definite character moment was arguing that the party should just wait around for a day while he flooded an underground lair with Create Water, rather than actually go into said lair to fight orcs. Also he was the adopted son of a gnome.

My first character was a Wizard in D&D basic. I honestly cannot remember what happened to him. His name was Gandalf since I had just finished reading the Hobbit for the first time. Hey I was 9 at the time.

If you've not heard the stories about Vin Diesel's character Melkor, now is the time to hear it.
Because he's apparently getting a movie made about his character. Different name, obviously, but still pretty neat.

My first character... Not sure really. You see back in the dnd realms before dnd advanced or 2nd edition. The dark tower was guarded by a most terrible giant spider. The DM being totally unforgiving of new players offered little help past the creation point. So with no idea how to handle such a beast the group of 3 players tossed charater after character at it. Only to be silk wrapped and eaten. Finally a fighter thief of godly str and dex named Conan ( really dating my self now) showed up. His group which included a mage, charmed an Orc and set it upon the beast. Finally inside we set loose a room of ghouls that ended up turning the whole tower and destroying our party.

My first character was an elf ranger, bow path. An Evil character in a group full of good aligned people and an outrageous name, the DM would brainstorm ways with me to subtly advance an evil agenda without derailing the groups progress or being "that guy".

My first character was a Warforged Barbarian named Sunder that I played in the Living Forgotten Realms adventures that Wizards was doing back when fourth edition was still popular. I am sad to say that Sunder didn't have much personality. They just liked chopping things up with their greatsword named 'Impunity'. Though I did once get to jump off a building a crush a bandit, so there's that.
