Well, as Dekor tends to do a lot of jobs in the undercity he'd have heard the rumors of the ruthless halforc's vengeance, but wouldn't immediately recognize it as Mazgurg.

The 'expected time' for the Jaguar to leave the Den (heavily, HEAVILY guarded at that point, mind you) is based on Tallia's statement that he'd be there for a 'few hours' and may or not be accurate, being a guess. Hence 'expected.'

Sorry for my absence the past couple of days, all. Damned ISP won't come out and fix the connection! I'm posting from a McDonald's with free WiFi right now, but that can't happen every day. Hopefully I'll get the connection fixed today, but I can't make promises.

I love the strategy discussion, guys. Some homebrew stats on the "smoke bombs", should you choose to employ them:
Once ignited (I'll allow timed fuse or instant ignition, depending on what you go with) the smoke will spread 1d2 squares in each direction from the source per round, up to 1d10 squares per bomb. Anything in a smoked tile takes a cumulative -1 to AC, Attack Rolls, and Saves while in the smoke (So, -2 after two rounds and -3 after three, etc.). If a subject is in smoke more than two rounds, they will begin to take 1d6 damage from smoke inhalation unless they reach fresh air and remain in fresh air for one full round. Sound good? I just came up with it sooo... balance may be an issue but it makes sense in my head. Last edited by killswitch423; Dec 12th, 2013 at 09:39 PM. |

Sorry guys, I've been traveling the past two days and I'm visiting family through Monday. I should be able to post at least once a day.

Glad to hear that you are starting to feel better, killswitch. For my part we are having a crazy day here in my neck of the woods. Already 26* cm of snow accumulation, and it looks like it might keep going all day. We didn't get this much snow all of last year! And I'm telling you, it was 15 C not a week ago! Mother nature is one fickle...well you know.
As for the smoke bombs, I hadn't actually gotten as far as the mechanics of them in my head, so you are a full two steps ahead of me. I just went with...smoke is a good catalyst for getting people to move. But considering you've done all this work, I have one question: How long would the lingering effects be? 1 round after leaving the affected area? *I know this is none too impressive for you snowbound types. |

Hm... unless motivated by wind or something, in standard conditions let's say the smoke lingers in a square for 2d10 rounds. So, a maximum of twenty rounds or 100 seconds/one minute, forty seconds.

I guess I'm setting Rego up for a fall with that last post, but the best stories nearly always involve change. If Rego's outlook is changed through experience, then at least I hope to have written something entertaining.
By the way, I'm having a terrific time just reading everyone's posts. Keep up the good work guys!

Awww...Come on! Just say it. "Reason and principle are what separates people from animals." To which Mazgurg would reply. "You're wrong, nothing separates people from animals." Or alternately. Looking around at the corpses still strewn around the tavern. "Would animals kill so many just to get to their quarry? We kill in this way, precisely because people are not like animals. They are far less."
Oh well, maybe later. Last edited by davide15; Dec 13th, 2013 at 02:44 AM. |

In other rpgcrossing news, I completed the solo game (TOTM) last night. Went out with my friends to celebrate afterwards lol. Also, just noticed I'm getting ready to round triple-digit posts; what do I win for that?
