Fingers crossed I finish this post before any of you get here...
First off, welcome to Fall of the Frostreaper. I have had this setting bouncing around in the back of my head since a cross-country road trip in 2020 and I finally decided to make the jump. As a reminder, this is a one-shot where you'll hit level 10 by the end. I'll level you up at story points throughout the game, so don't sweat chasing experience. I am fully committed to finishing this game, and hopefully doing it in a timely manner. My aim is two posts a week, one somewhere in the Tuesday-Thursday timeframe, and another over the weekend. I'll give you guys a heads up in this thread the night before each post, but I won't hold off on posting to wait for somebody's response. I'll let you guys know if I expect to deviate from that schedule, normally because of travel or other craziness IRL. I expect you to do the same to me and to all your fellow players. Now that we have our group established, feel free to make any changes to your class that you see fit. Roll for HP after first level, rerolling ones. Yes, starting equipment is genuinely whatever your class would start with for first level, but don't worry. Answer the magic item question in the character thread, and I'm sure fun, shiny things will make their way into your hands soon. Other than that, I'm just psyched for this game and for this group in particular. I'm very happy with the way it came together and you all should be proud of yourselves for creating such great characters. See you in the game, - Nas

I almost had you, you know…
Thank you for the invitation, Nas, it’s much appreciated! I am very excited to be joining a game that stands a chance to actually reach a satisfying conclusion, no matter if the Ungalu is not much of a heroheroes (?) prevail clearly, I want the dragon to die a horrible death, but still…or the evil dragon! I am very glad to see Demonslayer and EMIW among the players selected and am equally looking forward to getting to know krossingkhory and Torack. Complements to all of you for creating such interesting characters. Very well done indeed! Anyway, that’s it for now. I have decided as if!to keep my posts short and to the point. I’ll be working on Ungalu’s character sheet and rolling the dice so that I will be ready for when the game begins. See you all on (or beneath) the icy Windspire Range. Don’t forget to bring along a scarf and a pair of gloves!

Thank you for the invite! I cannot wait to get into character and start getting to know all of the players and their characters.
I have added my original application to the specified thread, placing most of it in a spoiler. I am still on vacation until Sunday, at which point I will roll the dice and finalize a character sheet. I will also think about magic items and add those to another spoiler in my character thread at that time. Last edited by krossingkhory; Aug 16th, 2024 at 12:27 PM. |

Thank you for the invite, Nas!
I am ecstatic to join this campaign! And I'm just as committed to seeing this through to the end. I want Tabral to get some form of closure for his loss haha! It will also be a lot of fun getting to know the other characters! You've all made them incredibly intersting! |

Hi everyone! Happy to be here, I'm looking forward to the game and getting to know all of you and your characters . It is midnight for me right now, so I won't write too lengthy a post just yet. But I did want to drop by and say hello!
And it is good to see you again too, Elanir! Here's to playing though I do hope this one features fewer character deaths... Or at least more glorious ones!another great campaign ! Last edited by DemonSlayer; Aug 17th, 2024 at 07:02 PM. |

Hey gang, I will be gone on a short vacation next week (26th - 30th). On those days I won't be able to do much more than post OoC- I'll only be able to access the forum via my phone, which is a pretty terrible way to write lengthy IC posts. Hopefully I'll have time to write on Friday, otherwise I'll be back on Saturday the 31st!

Alright, everybody's here! Welcome one, welcome all. Let me know as you finish your sheets, but no need to hold off on posting until they're done. We won't be fighting anything quite yet.
Thanks for letting us know @DemonSlayer. Headed anywhere fun?

I'm going to America!
Well, a little town called America, which is like a one hour drive from my home. Still, it should be pretty fun! There's a castle with a massive botanical garden just a short distance from there, a resort with hopefully not too many screaming children, and a few small towns along a river (one of which has a place where they sell amazing icecream). Hopefully it'll be a relaxing week ! Last edited by DemonSlayer; Aug 19th, 2024 at 10:50 AM. |

Castles are cool. Botanical gardens are cool. Resorts are chill.
Sounds like a good time. @Everyone, give me a shout in your private thread when your character sheet is done so I can give it a review, and please remember to let me know what kind of magic items you're interested in. Unrelated, shoutout to @KrossingKhory for starting their own game, advertised here. I feel extra special because you quoted me in your advert.

I think this is exactly the right time for a Divination!
Would one of the esteemed chieftains provide Ungalu with the materials needed to cast the spell? It would have to be something they cherish, perhaps a precious item or an animal companion (with a value of 25 gp or more), which would then be destroyed/killed. That’s the price of seeing the future, I guess… If not, Ungalu will ask the assorted crowd. Do you think this is a viable strategy?

Hey, why have a Divination Wizard if not for the Divination?
Let's retcon your casting materials a bit - we'll say that you have X amount of disposable spell materials to cast your spells which you've collected over many many years as a seer. You've left most to your apprentice, but you've taken an amount that makes sense for the adventure. Now, you have X-1, where we'll decide X in your private thread. This actually leads me to a larger topic. Because you'll be at 8th, 9th, and 10th level, everyone (except krossingkhory) may need some more powerful, costly spell materials. In your private threads, let me know what spells you have in your respective lists that require costly material and we'll see about getting you some.

Quote:
@Nasrith; A quick suggestion, since you mentioned there being a lot of names. One thing I saw a different GM do is put tt tags around the name of a character, and put a little picture of them in the mouseover section. You could even leave a little description or title in it, like this; Kalane Frostwalker Veomulane, Frostwalker chieftain Kalane glanced towards the door, where Kaugu Iceheart Thenalathala had left the meeting nearly an hour before, and sighed. I realize it is a bit of extra work, but if you're worried about us getting lost in all the names, then adding a picture might make identifying each of them easier . Just a suggestion! |
