@Krossingkhory, have an Inspiration for catching something to your detriment.

@Demonslayer, I'll let you attempt a Misty Step to get to Galmath. DC 18 using your spellcasting modifier to judge the space correctly. On a failure, you end up closer but still can't reach them until next round. On a significant failure (13 or below), you burn the spell slot with no effect.

Why, thank you! I'll take that and use it when I need it most.

And I'm not worried about the extra damage. Thanks to cold resistance, I was able to at least halve the cold damage. Still hurts, but I'm putting my own brand of hurt on the troll. The bummer part is that I couldn't take advantage of one of my rage benefits to avoid that second attack. But, que sera, and all!

I'm a bit torn about the most recent update. As I get back into DMing, I'm trying to provide that ever-so-challenging balance of "giving players enough information/clarity on multiple paths forward" and "letting players discover what options are available to them." I'm feeling not in a "make me feel better" wayself-conscious that I swung too far in the "letting you discover what options are available to you" direction in this most recent post, to the point where you might not be sure what to do from here.

Expressing my concerns so you, the players, can tell me if I'm off base or if you need something more from me.

Yeah, I'm not sure what to do here. We weren't really given multiple paths once we hit the Icevein, so to just be given the exit and have it blocked in a way that we can't get around has me stumped. It's a cave-in, and I doubt we have the combined strength to move enough rock to get out.

It’s not that I don’t have any ideas or options, it’s more that I am currently struggling with keeping up with my games. I am on family vacation and have a pretty full program every day this week and very little time to write. Next week will definitely be better, though. Just wanted to let everyone know.

Enjoy your vacation ! And on that note, next week I'll be gone on a very last minute type of deal, we literally made the reservations yesterdayholiday as well, so I won't be able to post then. I may be able to get a few OoC posts in, but otherwise I'll see you when I get back !

As for getting past the exit... Would Misty Step be an option, or would the range of the spell not suffice? If Uthal could get out, then perhaps he could start clearing debris from the top of the cave-in, make it easier for the others to pass through?

One must see the location one wants to teleport to, so misty step is probably not possible, but - since a little bit of light comes through the debris - gaseous form might be able to get Uthal to the other side. I will have Ungalu suggest it IC. I plan on posting later today.

Gaseous Form would work. I'd also say misty step would work... You would just have to get real close to the hole and peep through to the other side. Technically, even if all you could see was sky, you could misty step yourself into that open sky and just take a short tumble at the other end of the spell.
