Sorry, poorly worded. Perpendicular to the river, but away from the river.

River is west of the cave mouth. River runs south. Tracks go east starting near the mouth of the cave. Crystal Waters is south-southeast.

And I'm back from vacation! It was pretty good. Beautiful landscape, lots of tall hills and autumn forests, and quite a few lovely little old towns where most buildings had not been modernized since the 1300s. Very pretty, I just wish the roads there weren't so steep- I felt like I was driving up a wall half the time !

But yeah, I'm back, looking forward to continue the story .

I am not taking anything personal here! This is a great story so far, and the interaction with Uthal and Ungalu and Galmath just feels natural. 3 separate clans, 3 separate ways of looking at life and the world, 3 different reasons for wanting to be on this journey. I am very sure that some event prior to us taking on the dragon will result in us finally all getting on the same page and, gods forbid, actually liking each other!

Separately, you are all absolutely crushing these character interactions. Really excited to see how these characters grow through the rest of the game.

Separately, Torack and EMIW are both MIA. Torack's been gone for awhile, and after doing a bit of stalking, EMIW looks like they're taking a hiatus from the site.

With all that in mind, I'm going to be looking for 1-2 replacements, who will be pulled from the recruitment thread. For applicants, I'll consult you all before making final selections.

Sad news about Torack and EMIW. Will you pull replacements from the pool of completed apps? Or will you simply just throw up a new recruitment thread?

In other news, this whole scene reminds me of the end of Fellowship of the Ring, when Frodo and Sam cross the river and leave the group, while Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn go the other direction in search of Merry and Pip. Neither path is right, but neither is wrong. Everyone has to go the direction that fate sets before them, you know?

And to be clear: my wishing to follow the tracks is not in any way my saying that we should split up, or anything foul. Galmath is pretty clear about wanting to eradicate the danger, and that's simply where he would go. If someone gives him a really good reason to go to Crystal Waters, he'll change his mind!

I edited and made a post on the initial recruitment thread. That way, original applicants can reapply with their original characters, and new applicants can also come in. It saves me from reaching out to a bunch of people just to find out they've left the site, have a full schedule with other games, or simply aren't interested anymore.
