Hello!

I've had a writing itch come over me for the past few weeks, an itch that I thought I had let go of in high school but here it is again! I was an avid 5e player back in high school to college but more or less fell off the hype once life got the better of me and new hobbies took hold.

Stumbled back onto 5e, learned of some homebrew Pokemon Tabletop systems after playing Scarlet and Violet and now I'm here!

Nice to meet you all! And hope to write with some of you all at some points!

Edit: More like I've been reading through various Pokemon Tabletop RPGs and been trying to combine what ideas I liked together lol

So, what kind of games are you looking for? What kind of characters do you want to play? We have a wide variety of games here ranging from fantasy to sci-fi.

Looking into making my own games eventually but I would definitely need at least a good little while to shake off the rust of writing.

Fantasy writing is more my genre. Magic, wizards, curses and hexes galore~

Back in high school, I would make what I thought were goofy characters but eventually cause everyone else usually were the goofy character, I leaned to more of the moral compass most of the time ahaha.

I'm so glad you mentioned curses and hexes. As a GURPS player, I'm constantly thinking about hexagonal "hex" grids!

I'll peruse through the solo game threads, dice threads and writing threads as well.
I wanna see what everyone likes in terms of games before Headlong Rush myself into a game.

I mostly made bards and clerics who liked to dabble in inventing stuff or rapping goofy rhymes back then lol

I think you'll find that the best liked characters are the ones you like playing the most!
So if it is bards or clerics, then go for it. But if you are inventing stuff...sounds like you're an artificer player to me?

Can't believe no one asked yet, but how did you come up with your username? or, am I overthinking this and it is all about hexes on a (D&D) map?

Artificer's weren't a thing when I started... I think 2014? 2016? They were still in Playtest for 5e if I remember correctly. But I was definitely very enthused to play one when they officially released it!

Sadly I was already falling out of my DND hype around the time it was released and it was difficult to find games.

Honestly, I kind of just thought of the Hex Girls from Scooby Doo one day and I've just been making varying usernames with the word Hex since then.

So just call me, Hex~

Apologies for a late reply, I've been slightly obsessing over finishing a Pokemon 5e Redux Move List/PHB onto Google Sheets for the last few days. I've mostly finished all of the moves so far but now I'm fine-tuning, updating some moves, changing more moves, grammar and all that stuff.

I like the username. So, what are your plans for this site? Pokemon, D&D, something else entirely? If you are looking for a place to write, this is it. You write as much or as little as your want. Tell us a bit more about yourself. When you played D&D what character class did you prefer? What genre do you prefer (high fantasy, low magic/low fantasy, historical fiction, horror, sci fi, etc.)? Star Trek or Star Wars?

To start, you may want to check out a solo game. This will give you a chance to ease into the game.

As far as finding games goes, try here. This is where there are games seeking players. It can be a bit daunting but don't give up. It may take a few applications before you get accepted...but it's worth it once you're in. This is a great place to scratch your RPG itch and interact with some great DMs and players. There is some incredible role playing going on here. I thought I was a pretty good story teller, but I have been put to shame by the quality of many of the players...and I have learned a lot.

This is a place where the people are welcoming, where the games are interesting, and where generally they only expect you to post a few times a week. I've been playing D&D for a very long time and I thought I've seen it all, but this site has some amazing games going on. I've been playing (storytelling as much as rolling) for a few years now in a game that has been going on continuously for four decades, started tabletop and moved online two decades ago. It's set in an alternate Europe where the worlds of Tolkien and Howard existed in ages past. So there is a hint of LOTR and a hint of Conan in it and since it's set in an alt Europe it somehow feels familiar.

This is just one example and there are other great campaigns on RPGX. You should take some time to "stroll around" the site and see if anything catches your eye.
