Tracken I think... I hope... can take care of herself. Anyway, do you think that Flyrpina would have attacked those we left behind? I do worry about the dogs. And those poor horses left behind to starve until something comes along to eat them. Eindric muses guiltily, hoping beyond hope that he might have some news of their whereabouts.
I will have to forgo other duties and fetch them, he thinks with a deep sad feeling in his gut. Too easy to just replace them and forget it.... not right. And with no blade now... that could work both ways... maybe that's better. Crap. Perhaps Teny could handle affairs here. But Charlie? Possibly Bertrude.... HAAAhahahahaa. Brty and Charlie having a chat. Oh that'd be rich. Maybe I should go just to see that? But if I could go then Berty wouldn't...I'm going to be busy as hell.
There are bandits that need fought back.
We must go to Trendton.
It would be wise to go back to Baston.
But Tashagang may be more important a venture... perhaps we are not ready for that yet??
I've got to find my missing people... the dogs...
So many affairs to decide in Draminton.
The Charlie factor.
Ocean city seems a long way off. Only after Tashagang is established I think.
Can't just leave them....
And what was Flyrpina saying about---

Olian. What was that about the artifact and you yourself becoming its guardian or that of another? What IS this artifact that we've all had our lives laid out like so many lunchmeats over? Just why is it so important... or them - you said? How many of these things are there? Are all of them possessed by dragons who keep others from them? And this is decreed by gods. Olian do please clue us in. We've risked and sacrificed enough now I think, to know what it is we toil for? Appollo speaks in riddles sometimes. But you seem to know more about what's going on. Please enlighten us.
Ein looks on the man with newfound curiosity wondering just how coincidental his appearance was and wondering just what makes these artifacts so important.

Guyate fidgets restlessly, asking finally, Eindric, can we... I mean, are we finished? He's obviously eager to be out of the temple. Guyate was never a very religious man. Nineye seems less interested in leaving Eindric's side, he still looks at Tyren with suspicion. Decagai stands still, scratching himself unabashedly and staring forward blankly. There is drool on his chin and his shirt appears to be buttoned wrong. Also the once canny and hygenic soldier now sports a two day growth of beard on his face. Threguy had not allowed him to shave, not trusting the former captain's skills in such a simple task.
After taking Dragonslicer, the monk quickly wraps it up in a large piee of fabric, slinging it over his shoulder. Tyren bows again to Eindric, moving around the room, his hands clasped behind his back. He looks at the ornamentations and studies the stained glass. I am glad we have come to an agreement. I was beginning to fear that this encounter would mean nothing more than further bloodshed. I am still uncertain if there is any possibility of saving my soul. However, I have not slept in days. I am exhausted, if I am to lose my soul or my life tomorrow, I will do so with a clear mind and a rested body. I would be greatly pleased if you could arrange for me lodgings in this serene temple. The lst he says to Sandrel, adding, I believe I understand what you mean about Charlie hiding himself from Apollo. There is a woman he will be looking for, if he arrives in Tashagang today, as he is scheduled to do. Should he be in that city, he will go to her. He contiunes to examine the room's decour, looking now at the clear, trickling water of the fount. Eindric, I appreciate your offer and your support. Should your and Sandrel's aid allow me to achieve my goal, I will honor you both by aquiescing to your wishes. Should we succeed on the morrow, I will not seek Charlie's death. I am afraid, however that you will niether be able to help me save my sister. Charlie uses her to control me. He is a crafty man as you say, and should he be killed, only a few days need pass before she too is doomed.

*Eindric, it is relatively common knowledge, that Charlie should be at or near Tashagang by now.*
*The party has free actions in Draminton, and at Eindric's discretion, in Flying E's compound.*

Eindric, dear friend, I have spoken with Threguy. He is well. He seeks more of the truth. He feels his own truths have not yet satisfied. He will return when they are. He asks you not to worry. As always, though I know she heard my words, Tracken does not tell me her plans. She is quite the secretive woman, is she not? As for the horses, do not fret, they shall return shortly. Glory shall see to that. He will show them the path you made, and be back to me by the morn.their wagons may slow them down, so perhaps you could eet them half way tomorrow or send someone to. glory will ensure they know the safest way, but with all that they carry, it will be harder for them than he.

Sandrel cannot help to smile slightly when he hear's Eindrics words on Apollo.

When he turns to Tyren, he smiles, nodding pleasantly. Opening the arger door, it leads to the courtyard, and he unlocks the barred door, leading deeper into the temple.

"Tyren, you are of course welcome for both rest and for food. We turn none who accept peace and the light away. Tomorrow you shall tell me of this woman, and of the place we go, but now you may rest."

Sandrel finds a herald of some sort to set up a room for Tyren. He makes sure it is comfortabe and there is food.

When people begin to leave, he asks three to stay: Eindric, Tenny, and Decagai.

"There are many hours left in the day, and wile you all have much upon your mind, would you stay for an hour or two? Eindric, you had asked me if there was more that I could do for this brrave man. At the time, I told you not now. I think, now, and here is the place. With Apollo's aid, I believe I can aid him now. I will call upon two of those who will wander to aid me in this, but I would certainly enjoy your music to give me joy and confidence as I try. Do I have your blessing and will you aid me?"

If they agree, Sandrel calls upon Clarion and one other to aid in the surgery, to aid mostly in the divine magic, and he begins to perform the healing wonders that Apollo has taught him on the former captain. Before doing so, he asks Apollo to share his insight, and give him understanding to aid the man.

Heal check after Receiving Apollos divine insight, not including any bardic music oferred.

(All the while, between each step, calling Apollo to aid in the clsoing of wounds, and listening (if available) to the inspiring musics of the bards, feeling the ever-lasting light of the great temple.)

[OOC:] Still wanting to hear what Olian has to say on the artifacts/[/OOC]

Oh yes. Guyate, take the afternoon off. I'll see you at dinner. Thank you. Nineye stay a moment please.

Ein is frustrated and snubbed but he thinks, Perhaps this is the best place. The friends or relatives of the dead may not appreciate him in the compound and Sandrel will take good care of him. Tyren, do not underestimate Charlie's greed. I may not be able after all but would you allow me to try, I'd like to talk with Charlie when you return the blade. I think there is an excellent chance that I could secure your sister's freedom.
When Sandrel requests aid Ein doesn't miss a beat.
Of course I will aid you San. Decagui is loyal, brave and strong. Once he was wise as well. If you can return his former glory I will do whatever you ask.
Realizing that he will be here a while Ein turns to Nineye, You may take the afternoon for yourself as well Nine. I am indebted to you for your faithful service. Would you please do one more thing for me. Grab a few runners. Have one notify Berty that we have returned if he is out of your way. Send two messanger-boys to me here. Beyond that, I hope to see you at dinner tonight. Thank you.

One sec San. He'll smile at Teny and ask her help to remove his fireman's gear and assist her as well. Silly bulky stuff...

Once that's done he will play Apollo's Paean*
{Perform}
Dice Roll:

d20+20: (5) + 20 Total = 25
Magically enhancing the melody with Inspriring Confidence.

*A song sung in honor of Apollo is called a paean.

How can I help? Teny offers. Without any guidance otherwise, she will harmonize with Eindric

*that's actually an 18 on the perform check as per Teny's modifier of 8. Teny since you do not have the inspire competence ability you may instead consider that perform check as an aid another for Eindric's inspire competence ability, granting him a +2 to his result. Given Eindric's result on perform, a total bonus of +4 on Sandrel's heal check will be granted. Add to that the total of +4 from the other two clerics and a +4 bonus from the facilities, the check result is now 64.

Decagai's brain damage has been repaired. He is injured from the surgery and will require 28 points of healing to become fully recovered.*

Decagai expresses his gratitude but then shakes off the entire episode, saying, all in a days work... He insists on returning to the camp since there is many things to take care of. He was in the middle of investigating Toko's dissapearance when Ein came to take him away and wants to get started again before the trail grows too cold.

Eindric's runners arrive.

Sandrel prays upon the remaining wounds, letting Apollo's light fill and close the wounds, so that when Decagai awakens from the smelling salts, although there will be a mild tingling, there will be no great pain.

After the long surgery, and the many prayers, Sandrel looks down, and smiles.

He hesistates a minute, truth be told, he is enjoying the music too much, and with no battle about, he has time to listen to it. But he does respond.

"It is done. Though the damage was indeed great, Apollo's teachings were true. I thank you all." When Decagai eventually stands, and when Sandrel hears his words, Sandrel cannot help but to laugh. It is a good, enjoyable laugh.

After Decagai leaves, Sandrel turns toward Eindric. "I am gladenned by my success at restoring your captain, and I have many things to do before prayer, but I do have ill news as well. The horses, and the dogs are gone, save the one Threguy rode. Glory has been through much himself, I cannot ask him to venture into the caves to look for them. It is my hope that Tracken is leading them, but I cannot be sure of it."

Sandrel nods and understands when Clarion seems to want him to look over some things. He will wait to see if Eindric or Tenny have anything else to say, but if not, he will follow Clarion.

OOC: Not wanting this piece to get lost while JJ is out for the weekend:

Ein stops singing, takes Threguy's shoulders in hand and looks into his face with a big smile. My good man. I am relieved to have you back. Do you remember what has occurred? You were magnificent. Thank you.
But umm... buddy? You stink. Get yourself a bath and do take some rest. I wish you a complete and full recovery. I hope to see you at tonight's dinner but if you prefer to rest I will have a banquet brought to your apartments.

Turning to the good priest, Any advice from the doctor Sandrel? You were brilliant. I've never seen anything like that before. Thank you so very much. But on news of the dogs and Tracken his heart darkens again. There are no signs of them or the wagons then? This does not bode well. the bard thinks out loud. I see that you are busy. I will see you tonight I hope. Else in the morning. Do give me a chance to negotiate with Charlie for Tyren's sister. It is possible that she can be bought. Charlie is a man who trades in favors and we are in a position to offer him such things. Peace be upon you friend. Ein claps the Surgical Priest on the shoulder and bids him fare well.

The runners have arrived. He turns jovially to the boys Ahh, glad you're here boys. I've got some jobs for you two. But first, while we are here, would you like to say a quick prayer? The messages can wait a moment.
Eindric will kneel and give a brief prayer of thanks as well as one for the safety of Tracken.

In any case he will send one of them to run after Decagui, to keep an eye on him until he reaches the camp and make sure that he remains well. Ein is still uncomfortable leaving Decagui alone but would never say as much to the warrior. Should anything strange happen or should Captain Decagui falter in his steps, the boy is to either alert myself, a healer, another FE officer, or any of Decagui's men whichever is closer and to do so immediately. Once Decagui is among friends again, the boy must intrude and ask Decagui to please locate the highest ranking scout in town and send him or her to Eindric as quickly as possible.
He tosses the boy a single gold piece. The other is to run off and locate Berty then report back to Eindric so that he does not have to go looking in too many places. This Bard has learned that the more places he goes, the busier he gets. I've got a coin for you somewhere... I'll have it for you when you return. He smiles, quickly go now please lad.

Eindric will walk casually back to town with Teny commenting on Draminton's growth as they go. Enjoying the smells of fresh cut wood and baking bread, the alternating sounds of commerce and children at play, it nearly breaks his heart to ask but he must: Teny, someone will need to seek Tracken. I prefer to have you here and safe but I leave you to make the call on which way your path leads right now. Does either of those options pull you to them?

Should Eindric pass either another child that might serve as a messenger or else Armsman's or Blackie's smithy before he either finds Berty or the locator child, he will request that a smith fashion three small weapons, each of their own special powers for Eindric's personal use.

Beyond that, he looks forward to his talk with Berty (already done in another thread), the meeting with the Governor, after which he asks the governor in parting when the council will convene and whether that should also constitute their strategic planning session. Ein maps out his late afternoon / early evening. Once again, it leaves little chance for leisure but Ein will try to take leisure enough as he walks and plays a medley of tunes with lyrics inspired by what and whom he sees as he passes. After all, it is good to be home. He's smiling inside but not without a tinge of guilt as in the back of his mind he fears that Tracken still suffers the hardships of the road...

[OOC]: You said Threguy. Its actually Guyate, as Threguy is still doing strange things in the cave[/ooc]

Before Eindric leaves, he informs Eindric:

Yes I am busy. I know not of the dogs for sure, but Glory has told me that he spotted the wagons making their way back the journey. They are being driven by Traken.

*Eindric, during your talk with Bertrude you had heard of Toopaint's depression. During your private council with the former artisan, you get a steange feeling. See the thread, 'Something Rotten in Draminton'*

*Also someone please remember that Olian has never been to Draminton before, and has never seen Flying E's compound.*

Olian Der'natal

During the beginning of the conversation with the new person, Olian stands somewhat readied to see the reaction, but as the time passes he begins to relax. He glances around then brushes himself off as best he can and leans against a nearby wall.

Olian eyes Eindric for several seconds, as if appraising him before shrugging as his expression returns to noncommital.
"The Artifacts are powerful items that pose a threat to the Twelve, even possibly enough to cause Apollo to cease being. If they are used...at least if they are used inappropriately." Olian pauses momentarily, scratching his nose, "If they were used by someone who used them wrong, then this would happen. I am unsure as to how many there are, but I seek them. The dragons were created to guard these items by all the means at their disposal. That is why the vast reduction of these creatures is disturbing. Other creature were also created for similar things."

The slender man takes a moment to consider everyone in the room, one corner of his mouth twitching as if trying to smile, "I was...born as one such. My duty differs slightly from that of the dragons, but they often do not see it. I am to make sure that these things are protected, or cannot do the harm that they are capable of. By any means necessary.

"I have heard of some like me who resort only to the physical, but I prefer more peacibly ways. I prefer...charm."
, with this his eyebrows raise as the waiting smile creases his face, "I have found that it seems a better long term solution for both me and my duty. You heard the dragon call me warlock, and though it is not widespread that is what we are."

Olian sighs and looks at the Blade, "Have you ever wondered why they speaks in riddles? For many things the most important thing is not the result, but the journey to get to that result. Sometimes the answer will not get teh desired results. These artifacts are nearly as hard to destroy as that Blade, but sometimes that is not what needs to be done. I follow the artifacts and see to them, that is why I went to see Fy with you. I needed to see that she remained with the Artifact to guard it and be assured that she could. I was surprised when you left, it didn't seem any deal had been made."

Olian looks at the doors, as if trying to see through them, "Where are we, anyway? I am not particularly familiar with this area in the first place, but being teleported really threw me off. Do you know how long we will be here?"

OOC: man, you guys post a lot on weekends. The one time I generally don't post on....*mutter*
