I won't lie - it is a steep learning curve. I know Werewolf and Vampire quite well, and learning Mage has been quite the ride. Having never played the old one I did not have much to compare it to, I'm saddened to know it changed that much.

If you are reading this and applying for World of Darkness, we disallowed any form of additional NPCs in that setting. As for DA's question, I leave that to Aethera.

Honestly, I like the idea of this challenge completely. If your application is not selected, you are given feedback as to whether or not it was because it was an outright failure (and the failures are high-lighted for you, so you know what to look for next time) or if it was because it was good, but did not measure up to other applications in the format (which, again, they will give feedback on the areas that just did not shine as brightly). If you are accepted, the same goes for each round. As the game moves on, you are funneled down to the best of your format, then (as it appears this year) the best of every format. It will be interesting to see how that pans out with the different rules for each system, but I like it nonetheless. This entire idea is a fun version of an application and role-playing workshop!

I am. (Just not right now - after August, when school ends.) In fact, it'll be an essential language later on in my life.

Also, is there a way to play a rules legit Ur-Priest in this? I haven't found one yet. Might just save that for a standard game.

Linking it to the official campaign would be good, if only to make triply sure that I can take your name off it if I see it somewhere, instead of disqualifying you outright.

Nothing in particular, mechanically speaking. Just kind of in a mental place where the idea of an anti-priest that isn't nessecarily evil has an appeal.

Glee -- why don't you just make a priest and have him follow ideals rather than a specific diety... The fluff is completely up to you, so you can say he gets his spells by stealing divine power of you want.

One of my favorite PC's was an atheist priest of gluttony and lust. He constantly preached about the importance of the hedonistic lifestyle, living for the moment... Needless to say, he led by example.
