In case anyone missed it, we need 8 applicants minimum (may be partial, incomplete) by the morning of the 14th for each bracket to be run. So far, only Pathfinder has that many.

Never heard of 13th Age, otherwise I might help there. :P

I have noticed that if you somehow combine 5e and 3.5e together there's more then enough, but I'm not sure that's a healthy attitude to have.

The 14th is the cutoff date for numbers, though those people will have another week (19th) to finalize details. I'll be sad if 13th Age doesn't make it as far as the game rounds, but I might actually get my apartment unpacked...

If I spent more than a weekend at PAX playing 5e, I might have submitted an application. To be honest, my experience with it is limited to two skirmishes and a couple of failed checks outside of combat. I understand that the role-playing is all the same, but the mechanics are too different to try my hand at something this - shall we say - "competitive?" I have to agree that there are likely the procrastinators out there cranking them out as I type this, but they have very little time left.

Pleeease for 13th age? Pleeeease? The system literally takes a day to learn (anyone could learn it between now and the 19th), the SRD is helpful and comprehensive and the flavour-mechanics are SO COOL.

If we don't get enough for 13th age, I might throw and app WOD-way, but is there an SRD or something equivalent, or do we have to buy books for it (I'm familiar with other White Wolf systems, so the learning curve shouldn't be too steep, and I'd like to see at least one of the two dark-horse systems run). So count me as a tentative eighth-if-needed there?

I'm inclined to agree with the simplicity of 13th Age. It was designed to cut down on mechanical complexity to focus on storytelling, so it's pretty easy to throw a character together. Plus the "One Unique Thing" mechanic is brilliant.

I would treat this as any game you have applied for in the past. Except that this is the mother of all games. Whatever you do, make it count

I would hate to burst perfectly good bubbles but we still need two more apps before tomorrow. Don't feel too bad though. I maybe out of a job if 3.5e doesn't get enough apps... Better put in the letter of interest for pathfinder judge while I still have the chance
