I mean. Look we are ALLLLLLL nerds here. We like PIXELS I got NO pixels. So. I will never play this again...

Like, I spent, 8 - 10 hours working on this. I lost a work day to it.

OKAY YES THAT MAKES ME INSANE AND A NERD but hey I am what I am and the clues were hard and demanded that level of nerdery.

But...you make it SO hard that only 2 teams play and the reward is "okay you won...zzz"

I think half the people on the actual TEAMS do not even know they won!!!!

I want a PIXEL. a BADGE. Summat!

Either SUPER lower the difficulty so more teams play or UP the reward so more teams play.

As it stands it is max effort for no reward but losing a day of productivity Plus FEELING VAGUELY SAD because you won by a point over dear friends you cannot help but root for...

I WANT A PIXEL, or for the whole thing to be declared a tie because WHO CARES and we ALLLLL gave up HOURS to it.

A prize-thing has been hiding since before the winner-decided era, laying in wait for the perfect time to spring into the-prize-you-thought-you-wanted-but-later-you-weren't-sure-dom.

Patience.

But not for much longer.

Thank you to everyone who brought this thing life, including all the hunters!

 

This competition was led by Ion2Atom and involved multiple volunteers, who do it out of the way almost all things here get done -- if you want a professionally run community with 1-2 dedicated staff, a CS would run for about $400 per year; at that price there would still have to be a lot of volunteers, though, including the admin and moderatorsgoodwill to the community. The time and effort by multiple people to set up and then judge the hunt paid off in the fun people had doing it! The interest in the Easter Egg Hunt had waned over the years, and I love the idea of a team scavenger hunt as a fun alternative. I look forward to next year, and I hope that the great Ion2Atom will again be the champion of the hunt.

I would hope a scavenger hunt would be more about the journey than the reward. If you can think of ways to make the journey more fun, please do let us know.

Finally, a note about the goodwill of volunteers: times are challenging for many of us, and there are unkindnesses in the world. Please remember that everyone here is trying to create some fun and enjoyment, and the reward people who volunteer to run a competition (and hopefully will want to do it again in the future) get is their own enjoyment.

I, for one, am super-happy of having won participated, super-braggy about my YUGE avatar and... I dunno, just check out the swagger in my step! That's some fine boasting right there in them hips, a hefty dose of gloating, pure BRAGGADOCIO lemme tell ya

Seriously, thanks to everyone who made this possible -- the creators, the volunteers, my teammates (who did most of the work), the pitiful losers sacrificial victims other team and of course my gut fauna, without which my performance would not have been the same. Seriously, this was fun.

Yeah you missed out there stepanxol, that thing is going to be worth millions in years to come.
