I'm really sorry to all of you guys for vanishing without a trace. I promise to get back into the swing of things within the next 24 - 48 hours. I wonder how many PCs I may have lost due to my unexplained absence...
Anyway, whilst dealing with my many RL issues of late, I have always found some time to at least mentally tally all of your situations. Rest assured, I have not lost my momentum (if its possible to maintain momentum without moving forward). Looking forward to posting to all of you very soon...

It can be frustrating when the game stops, but sometimes it does. Don't stress. When my games start feeling like obglations rather than games that is a problem. Real life ebbs and flows and things change. Sometimes you just need to put your fun time on the back burner. No worries from me. I'm still here and don't mind the delay one bit.

Alright. So it took longer than expected. However, I have returned. Still reading up and preparing, but the posts will begin flowing again soon.
Just note, while I have been traveling and otherwise squandering recent weeks by not attending these illustrous boards, I have in fact been reading through the Book of Swords series. While our little campaign varies widely from Fred Saberhagen's epic tale, the re-reading of the series has freshened in my mind the overall purpose of this campaign. The tale is about world-changing, epic heroes of legendary proportions but fairly humble beginnings. At least that much do we share in common with the inspiring story. The Swords themselves too do not vary far from the original author's intent. That said, you can expect drastic changes in the overall progression of this campaign. I've said this before, a few times at least, but I am going to try to advance the time line considerably. I will do so immediately, or almost immediately. Anyone who is not willing to jump past the next few minutes of their story line, please speak up now. Aside from current combat situations, I will post explanative progression in each thread (at least for those still in the game). We are going to move ahead almost four years. Some experience will be alloted based on the overall lifestyle of each character, but this game does not really focus on experience, level or CR. In an effort to further expediate the playing of this game, I will begin to consolidate threads. During the progression, most players will be offered a chance to join other players, at least in cases where a similiar goal or direction can be found. Hopefully enough PCs will remain to actually create at least one main party. From there I don't mind splitting the individuals as the storyline advances, but at the very least it will do me the service of making the campaign more easily managable for a time while I get back into a steady posting routine. If I have lost a lot of players, I will attempt to recruit new ones, but they will not gain the benefits of the sudden leap in time that is about to occur. If you have nothing to say about the coming changes, please at least see the newest thread and post there. Or otherwise let me know in a PM. Oh and uh, Merry Christmas: ![]() Happy Channukah: ![]() Game on.

Ya know, funny thing. One of my tabletop characters that I started at level 1 was originally in a game that consisted of the swords in Saberhagen's books. Saw firsthand (or at least my character did) the result of two of the swords meeting.

I expect Still_Pond and Birched to "Rally to my Banner", but I doubt that I'll hear from TimFudge. As for Krowout, I am still nursing a hope that he responds after this weekend, but somehow I doubt it.
(It will be quite anti-climactic if Jonas were to finally crush Eindric if the 'crooner' was no more than a glorified NPC.) Other than those missing 3, I fear that all that remains of our illustrious roster has already posted or contacted me. 6 to 9 players controlling 7 to 10 or more characters. After the time skip, I might be inclined to seek new recruits. I'll consider any of my PCs suggested players before seeking out new players. Thanks!

Nicely rounded out now. Thanks to all of you for sticking around for all this time. I have some momentuous things in the works for the game and I am eager to get it all written down for you. Krowout has managed to get a taste of what I have in store for everyone and soon the rest of you will be there as well. Unfortunately I have been sick lately and my posting has suffered. Thanks again for your continued tolerance.

And the Colts go to Miami!!!
For the first time as the Indianapolis Colts, the little horse goes to the Superbowl! The last time the Colts made it to the Superbowl: 1970 - as the Baltimore Colts. And who better than Da Bears, to face in the tropical heat?! Not a big fan of my local teams (NY/NJ), I was infinitely pleased to watch two mid-western teams earn their victories today. Unfortunately the games detracted from my planned posting time... No worries, I have an awful lot of text that needs to be converted into posts and I will do my best to get those up during this work-week. I plan on getting Mithaniel's thread updated next. Just in case I can't get to everyone as planned this week, at least the PCs will be able to see the trend of the world situation in Mithaniel's thread.

The updates are coming... albeit slowly. While you wait for me to get to your individual updates go ahead and read the last post in, "His High Horse". Keep on eye out for the second half, which I hope to put up tomorrow (thursday night).

Whew. 25 pages (in MS word). I didn't expect Mithaniel's story to take so long. Mac is next. I'll try to put it up as each section becomes complete (won't be as long as Mith's), but if Grimfan's was any indication, it should take me the majority of the rest of the night to complete....

A major milestone in DnDOG history. 10,000 posts! My newest target: to get my post count higher than my RPXP by the time this campaign sees its 4th birthday (DOB: 5/14/04)
