Just giving a heads up, from the 27th November until the 5th January, I will be overseas. My internet access will be sketchy as best, but I will try to log in at least once a week.

My computer issues are resolved and my game load has decreased. I think I've got Smokey back to where he was, and if not..I'm fine with it. I'll be gone over Christmas and into mid January, but will probably have access to the forums during that time - just not as much as I normally do.

I hope you still plan on the game re-start. I still look at my little game list hoping to see a new post!

Argh. I'm trying to ease back in once again. Stupid RL. I'm coming back for sure, I don't want to make any promises on when because of mice plans or something...
I lost my job of six years and my relationship with my girlfriend of over nine years has been on the rocks. None of which should be a valid excuse as to why I'm not here gaming with you guys. But rest assured, my wheels are spinning.
(I'm trying to finish my manuscript and get a novel published, but writing has really evoked in me a desire to play here! I miss you all...)

My life has not gotten less busy sense the last time you came back. In fact it's gotten busier, however I'm still here and ready to play anytime you are.

The novel is an epic fantasy portraying the life of my inspiration, the fictional Corwyn Thomas. I draw elements from all aspects of my life, including and especially DnD.

Chapter One, attached below, takes place about a month after the story actually begins. Its about 8 pages in Word format, about 21 novel pages (based on 250 words per page).

If you get the chance to read it, I welcome your comments and criticism. Note that the picture included at the chapter start is only a place holder - I'll be illustrating it myself, but my drawings are not yet finalized.

I have four chapters completed and four more in the editing stage. The rest are barely more than outlined.

Heehee...really? Hmm...do I overly criticize my DM, who is likely a better writer than myself, and risk in-game wrath or do I play the diplomat and nod, smile, and espouse the wonder of his work? I haven't read it yet, but being who I am, I'm bound to find something wrong with it.

I think it's great you're writing a book, and even better that you've shared a taste of it with us! I'll get to reading it and let you know, (as nicely as I can), what I think of it.
