Since I'm going to have to remake him, I'm indifferent. A 6th level character is quicker to make, though the higher the level the more cool stuff you can do.

Same character is good, if it fits within your game world. I guess you'll be using D&D 3.5 (modified by house rules)? Dialing back to a lower level is fine with me.

I don't really want to play Smokey as a lower level, mostly because I have a solid back-story and would have trouble remembering what he wouldn't have done or what he can't do yet. I'd probably just want to make up some new character, or re-used an old one I have lying around if I can't play 12th level Smokey. I don't want to be the only 12th level guy either, as that sounds scary.

12th level it is. I'll write some conclusions for the Pantheon - just to give some closure. Meanwhile, start getting your characters ready - feel free to post in the Time & Distance thread. Draco, you can make whatever character you like - or even play as Joseph, with or without the mechanical implants.

New territory Post here with your character builds, or related questions. Since its 12th level, start with 88,000gps - unless you modify it using the stat generation rules in the first post. If your sheet is still intact, and you already have gear - you do not need to tally your items' value, or give up items, if you do not want to. I haven't gotten to it yet, but your Pantheon conclusions will have you leaving the region via portal, then ship. You travel a long distance to reach the bustling port city of Haskenport. The city is about to celebrate its first holiday festival and there is a circus preparing to set up just outside the city walls as well. There will be tournaments, challenges, games and celebrations all around the city. Feel free to interact with shopkeepers in their threads - no need to try and keep such conversations in chronological order with your main threads, such conversations can be considered as having occurred during times in which the story is not focused on the character. Also, as the tournaments and games get posted, you can post to their threads too, even if you are in the middle of negotiating with a shopkeeper. Finally, there will be threads containing advertisements and notices found around the city. You will have opportunity to respond to those as well. When you reach Haskenport - not necessarily on the same ship, if you don't want to be - your plot lines would be relatively neutral. No specific goals have been given to you in this new land as of yet.

If I can join this new game, I think I'll need to make a new character...I get the feeling that Mac would have gone home to his love and not headed out to a different plane.

Sean, I think I agree about Mac, though I surely can give an RP reason for him and/or take the choice out of the characters hands. Also, we can move the love interest (and what was it, an ocean side tavern?) into the new world. A RP story for that won't be too hard. In fact, she could be one of the interactive shopkeepers in Haskenport - if you want. Otherwise, a new character it is.

My main obstacle with that idea is that I haven't played 3.5 for a long time, and even though Pathfinder is very similar (which I *have* played), making a new character using rules I haven't looked at for a few years feels almost like work. Keeping going with Finn... well, that feels almost easy. I could back Finn up to a historical point in his progression I guess.

The short of it is that you were great fun to play with, and the character is less important. I'm pretty confident it'll be a good time regardless of the character I am playing.

I'm the same as Birched. I can play old 3.5 Smokey just fine, because the work is done and I know the character. Making a new character using older rules is not a big deal, but I'm less interested in doing that. (Pathfinder is better, in my opinion). Also of equal weight is that I'm a little worried about my time. I don't have much time to create characters at the moment, and again, Smokey is already done so I could just jump in and play. I'm actually not sure I should agree to play but I really really want to so I'm going to try to pull it off. That said, character creation is a relativity brief period in the life of the game, so I could do that if you'd like -it just might take me a while.

Again, like Birched said, you write very well and your games (at least last time) are enjoyable so any character would be fun to play.

By all means, play Finn and Smokey - it will be awesome. I'm not sure what level Finn was, but as I said, see if you can make them 12th level characters and we'll take it from there.
