For actually using the maps in a game, I am a serious fan of roll20.net, even for my tabletop games (all of us have laptops). It departs (and sadly) from the old rollout maps and miniatures, but allows for so many more things. I can "make" a spontaneous encounter very quickly by pulling terrain from their search, then drop the characters on there. It also has a number of tools; lighting, HP tracking, ability tracking, measuring, etc. -me PS good to hear from you in so long.

Excellent, thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I plan to start slow, gaming in a couple of new games to see how well I can keep up... almost certainly eventually hosting a new campaign.
