Do not fear, I am not naive in that I would simply hand over Dragonslcer to this one until true truth is discovered, it shall be safe, Glory will see to that. This battle needs to be stopped. I have asked for his surrender. He as given it. We must be honorable and accept.

Ein will stop only the singing, He is NOT speaking truth, his ceasefire is deception and if he believes his own lies then that proves more-so that he is a consumate liar.
All that you will accomplish by a parlay will be to hear more of his lies and he will draw you in, convincing you of his falsehoods. Sandrel, in many things you are wise but this man tests skills that I have spent my life honing. Hear me: We KNOW that his truth and Apollo's truth are not the same. Do not let his words twist your mind. Making peace with this man can only result in loss. Apollo would not send and protect a rogueish liar to take from us by deception. He contradicts our Lord and twists our minds. Already he has you believing him. He has threatened us in many ways, if you let him live he will only come back in the night to slit throats in their sleep, if you give him the sword then we have betrayed our Lord. Either way, we betray ourselves. I follow your guidance, Sandrel in many things - but in this... I cannot. This man tries to use Apollo against us but he has not erased my memory of the god's words and actions. It matters not how well he says it and believes it, Apollo does not bless him. He comes to steal the god-gift. He must be killed before we give him the chance to warp our minds further. This is Loki - the greatest liar in the world. Of course he can trick you with words. Of course you will believe him. He is the God of Lies. Let the light of Apollo guide you not the lies of Loki. You ave seen it, Apollo's light will not fall on him for better or worse. You know this to be true. You do not have to honor the words of peace spoken by the god of lies. He uses your peace only to poison your ears and turn you against the Light. The will of the Light is clear. Heed that over mere words for that is all that this deformed Loki can muster. Words. Apollo tried to kill him when last we saw him and we saw him jump into another body and escape his fate. He came then to snatch god-swords just as he comes today. It falls now, on us, to finish what our Lord has started. Let us finish this puny god. The enemy of Apollo. Quote:
Ein is livid and spittle flies from his mouth as he speaks. So distraught is he that the greatest Cleric he has ever known is being swayed to believe a man whose words go against the words of his own god. He sees the tide of battle and it is turning toward darkness. *I will wait for Tyren/Loki's actions and the rest of our men to act, before attacking again as I have attacked already since his last action but I can think of nothing that will interceed and prevent me from firing again nor ordering the others to follow suit. Sandrel and other willfull good people will not be 'ordered' by me but I can and will beg them to destroy the evil that walks in the form of a man.*

Tyren raises his hand up with blinding speed, deftly plucking Eindric's bolt from the air. He smiles ruefully at the bard and tosses it aside to land amongest the dozens of other arrows that have failed to strike him. Tenyanie continues to hesitate, her bow wavering in her hands, but still aimed at Tyren. The rogue speaks, and his voice again carries through the air, a touch of amusement and a touch of fear creeping in simultaneaously, "so test me already! You say that I am lying, where are your proof's? I said the magic of Apollo would not affect me, and I was not lying. This patch of burnt ground testifies to that, the cleric knows," he speaks to everyone present, turning about as he does, pointing at the affronted cleric riding in the air above, "I have not yet begun to take lives. I have come to take what was promised me by your god!! If I do not leave soon, my soul will be doomed, and then there will be nothing that would prevent me from wreaking havoc on all your heads! I stand here the target of your anger and fear, you would all kill me if you could, but I ask you, what if I am not lying? What will Apollo think of his followers? I am ready to talk. The next person who attacks me will face my anger directly..."
His words are filled with conviction, but there is fear in his eyes. Perhaps he is afraid his bluff will fail, or else he is indeed in fear for his very soul. Threguy hesitates, one hand raised, ready to give the order to attack, but his eyes rest on Eindric, the archer shows fear and uncertainty in that gaze. The troops all file in around Tyren, still closing the circle, and still more arrive. Nineye leads in a group of people from the south, his eyes watching Threguy, his posture tense. Tyren does not grow nervous at the sight of the soldiers, but his eyes keep returning to Sandrel and the Sword of Heroes. *PCs have free actions.* Drop this text at http://www.irony.com/java/mmee *BEGIN 0 0 rs 0 *s 0 1r 1b o5 gb *s 4 76 4z rs 0 *s 2 8e 3o rs 0 *s -3 gq 48 rs @0 Man *s -3 8q 3m rs 0 Eindric *s -3 k 26 rs 0 Sandrel *s -3 6p @4h rs 0 *s 2 52 52 rs 0 *s -3 38 55 rs 0 Tenyanie *s -3 7b 59 @rs 0 Tyren *s 7 -1h 6f rs 0 *s -3 -1r 6b rs 0 Glory *s h ib 5s @6y0 0 *s -3 h6 6c rs 0 Entangle *s 2 74 73 rs 0 *s 2 58 5s rs 0 *s @2 6d 72 rs 0 *s 2 7s 71 rs 0 *s 2 4e 5o rs 0 *s 2 5o 6d rs 0 *s @0 8b 6d rs 0 *s 0 54 4a rs 0 *s 0 92 4b rs 0 *s 0 6f 30 rs 0 *s @0 5r 3o rs 0 *s 0 93 50 rs 0 *s -3 52 78 rs 0 3Guy *s -3 ho bk @rs 0 13 *s -3 h6 bb rs 0 14 *s -3 i3 b7 rs 0 15 *s -3 hw c4 rs 0 @16 *s -3 hr bz rs 0 17 *s -3 gf am rs 0 19 *s -3 iz aq rs 0 20 *s @2 90 5t rs 0 *s 7 1s 1l p6 fw *s h h9 5g 3mk 0 *s -3 h8 5w rs 0 @Flame Strike *s 2 32 6c rs 0 *s 2 3r 70 rs 0 *s 2 51 8c rs 0 *s @0 b3 51 rs 0 *s 0 b2 3o rs 0 *s 0 b2 2d rs 0 *s 7 3o 2z rs 0 *s @7 50 2b rs 0 *s 2 3j 2r rs 0 *s 2 4u 24 rs 0 *s 2 2e 5o rs 0 *s @2 2f 70 rs 0 *s 2 35 7p rs 0 *s 2 3p 8c rs 0 *s 2 34 92 rs 0 *s @2 1m 53 rs 0 *s 2 2h 8c rs 0 *s 2 1q 7o rs 0 *s 2 3p 9r rs 0 *s @2 1q 69 rs 0 *s 0 bq 2y rs 0 *s 0 bq 4a rs 0 *s 0 bp 5o rs 0 *s @0 cb 3m rs 0 *s 0 cc 52 rs 0 *s 0 cd 6d rs 0 *s 0 d0 4c rs 0 *s @0 d2 5m rs 0 *s 0 d3 6x rs 0 *s 0 b2 73 rs 0 *s 7 6d 1m rs 0 *s @7 3q 1n rs 0 *s 7 56 w rs 0 *s 7 7q y rs 0 *s 2 3j 1f rs 0 *s 2 @4z r rs 0 *s 2 66 1i rs 0 *s 2 7i t rs 0 *s 7 90 9q rs 0 *s 7 ae @93 rs 0 *s 7 9p ae rs 0 *s 7 b3 9o rs 0 *s 7 ag b1 rs 0 *s 7 bt @ad rs 0 *s 7 b6 bk rs 0 *s 7 ci ay rs 0 *s 2 8v 9k rs 0 *s 2 a7 @8y rs 0 *s 0 9l a9 rs 0 *s 5 b0 9i rs 0 *s 5 a9 aw rs 0 *s 5 bm @a8 rs 0 *s 5 b0 bg rs 0 *s 5 cd at rs 0 *s -3 84 aa rs 0 *s -3 @7y a6 rs 0 9eye *s -3 as 8s rs 0 Tracken *s -3 8q aw rs 0 Carmen @*s -3 bh 9l rs 0 SeaFlat *s -3 9j bp rs 0 Sharpay *s -3 b1 c7 rs @0 Bellyup *s -3 cm b9 rs 0 *s -3 ck bd rs 0 Bellydown *s -3 c7 @ac rs 0 Jugglem *s 2 4z d0 rs 0 *s 2 69 cy rs 0 *s 2 7t d0 rs 0 *s @0 bo w rs 0 *s 0 b2 d rs 0 *s 0 ca b rs 0 *END -a17p8t |

"Do not even utter the great NAME of APOLLO you scandalous swine!
True, you are able to resist Sandrel's fire - but also true that the light of Truth that Sandrel casts in the name of Apollo also will not touch you. HE has spoken to us himself and you come here claiming that he has changed his mind and that we are to turn his gift over to you and abandon the quest that he set upon us. You may be able to resist magic and many attacks but you cannot fill MY head with lies. Apollo has sent me many messages from afar, he has come to me and we spoke. Your trickery cannot change that and if your words be true then that makes the words of Apollo false and hollow. All here can attest that the God of Truth and Light does NOT speak flalsely. We are inclined to trust in Apollo's words spoken in our presence mere days ago versus the claims of a stranger who comes here with threats and bluster and violence. If Apollo wants the sword in other hands, he will simply send me another message - I have been his delivery boy before. It is YOU who would attack and kill us if you did not fear for your life. And it is I who will give YOU one chance to get out of here with your skin, as I am in control here and NOT you. If you admit that you came here with the intent to deceive us, then we shall let you walk out of here. If you try to say anything else, then we will fight you with all of our strength. You are indeed granted your chance to parlay then - as Sandrel wishes. But you are warned, if you cannot speak truth to us and admit yoru deceitfull intentions, then justice will be upon you, the parlay over and we will know then that your tongue drips with poison and must be cut out. You will not leave here with the sword but you might leave here with your life. Chose now." Ein speaks from the heart with the passion and elloquence of a storyteller and grace of a songweaver. One hand is on the trigger of his crossbow, the other holds his shield on high with a finger pointed skyward. He waits and watches. As soon as Loki attempts to weave a lie or say anything besides admitting his falshoods or if he moves to attack anyone, Ein's finger will drop signalling his men to let loose with all of their fury. Simultaneously he will click the trigger of his own weapon, launching the first assault - not afraid to take the brunt of this man's anger. In fact, Ein preferrs to take the assault himself rather than let anyone else here take it for him. He is not afraid to die in defense of truth. This is an odd place for him to be mentally. A profiteer, a performer, a merchant, a leader, and an opportunist are all familiar roles to him by now. But a fanatic defender of truth and righteousness is completely new and he surprises even himself with his willingness to die in defense of his god. The fact that a key aspect of the struggle is over a piece of material (the sword) is maybe the one thing that keeps him from having a complete mental melt-down along with the realization that he has become someonne he never dreamed that he would. Someone so alien to his sense of identity. The kind of person he could never relate to in the past. In many ways it feels good. In many ways it scared him. But he is in combat and such dwelling will have to wait. He has seen enough action to maintain his composure and do what must be done. Putting such thoughts from his head as fast as they flash through he focuses on his quary. When the time comes (and I am sure that it will) he lets loose and feels confident that his men will follow suit. It is a blinding rage of sound pouring from the Bard that forms a battle cry, "For the Light!" and begins a fourth song of courage while drowning out the lies of Loki. Dice Roll:

Hopefully before Eindric attacks...
Sandrel draws Dragonslicer, and sheathes it in the sheath upn glory's saddle. He then steps off Glory standing in midair, as if a floor was under him. He looks at both Eindric and Tyren. "Tell me sir, as we begin our talk, how far is the journey, and how much time have you." and he also speaks to Eindric saying "Dragonslicer is safe from his hands. Eindric, if you have evidence of his lies, beyond the quest upon him, tell me what they are. The fact that my prayer has no effect upon him worries me, but it is no proof. Our lord does not enjoy blind faith nor does he accept accusations that are without foundation. So please, good friend, what are your foundations for this?" He then calls out to the holy fires. "Lord and Master, bring the holy fires upon me to bring me to my brother's side. We argue, and I do my best to explain your forgiveness and understand, but despite any rift that may form, he is still my brother, and I wish to stand by him." Casting Dimension Door, Sandrel disappears from the sky, and appears by Eindric, although he would be somewhat inbetween him and Tyren. At the moment his bow is sheathed, and he has no melee weapons. If round by round, im done, if not ill begin the parlay. (two questions have already been asked)

OK flipping back a few moments in time:
Foundations? You are poisoned by him! The FOUNDATION is that APOLLO HIMSELF came to us with instructions that we are mid way through following. He gifted the sword to us in order to complete the task. It IS the leverage we will use to bargain with the huge female that guards the artifacts in the hills. Apollo himself instructed this. Apollo speaks to me and instructs me, sometimes in person, sometimes with messages. There was no 'borrowing' or returning to any mortal. There has been ample time to send us messages of urgency or change of plans. None have come. This man comes claiming that Apollo contradicted himself by telling me one thing and him another. Either he is a liar or Apollo is. What more FOUNDATION could there be than the simple fact that this man claims Apollo spoke falsely to me? Come to your senses man! You would believe the lies of Loki over me? You would believe that the very God of Truth spoke falsely to us and truthfully to him? Listen to his voice! Can you not hear the fear? Do you not register the lie? His words drip with convincing but twisted realities. Let him not push us off the path of the light by moving the shadows. If he is powerfull enough to withstand your magic, and the magic of all here, then it is simply a matter of faith. Will you place your faith in any stranger with a sweet voice or will your faith in Apollo and your friends remain strong? Please Sandrel. Do not be led into betrayal by the Queen of Deception that stands before you bound in a man's body. It suits his purposes to set us against one another. That is the way of Loki. Turning good friends against one another. Is there anything more evil than that? He claims that Apollo has placed an edict on him that will condemn his soul eternally if he should fail in his quest. Does that sound like the Apollo that we know? There is no time to spare. Quickly man, save yourself. Look into yourself. Focus on your faith. Ein should have no problem shooting past Sandrel when the time comes even if he needs a 5 foot adjustment to do it. But he does stop to address his friend's concern hoping that he shakes off the alternate reality that Loki has painted in the Priest's mind. And back to where we left off - once Loki spins another lie, Ein shouts the Charge of Courage and fires his bow.

As Eindric makes his dramatic speech, Tyren turns to him, listening and watching. When Eindric finishes, not a sound can be heard from the assembled soldiers, the clearing is completely quiet, the air still. Tyren smiles at the bard, raising his hands minutely from his sides, palms up. Suddenly a great flash of lightning splites the clear blue sky above. There is a ground shaking blast of thunder and the sky darkens dramaticly. Clouds appear as if by magic, turning the bright day into darkest night in a single instant. Heavy drops of rain begin to fall, and then rain courses from the clouds in a horrendous downpour. The sudden dramatic weather causes Eindric to stutter, releasing his crossbow bolt, sending the missile with unerring accuracy. Tyren's hand whips up, in an effort to deflect it, but he is not fast enough this time. The bolt pierces his chest neatly, the wound looks painful, but Tyren's expression does not falter. Blood drips from his chest, unarmored as it is, tiny arcs of lightning crackling over the bared flesh of his chest and neck.
A narrow beam of sunlight pierces the clouds at a severe angle, making the spectators wonder how far the sun must have moved in the last few seconds. The brilliant shaft of light illuminates one thin line in the darkness of the black clouds above. The light falls upon Tyren directly, lending him a radiant, glowing appearance and it's touch on his dry flesh appears to heal the open wound on his chest. The bolt slides out and the wound closes, the crackling electricity fading away. He says nothing but his eyes rove over the crowds of soaked and startled soldiers weapons trained on him, but the arrows do not fire. *PCs have free action.* |

LOKI !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ther can be no doubt now. A mortal does not move the weather. Many here can attest that when I have fought the will of Apollo before, he is swift in burning my flesh. I suffer no burns but that of my eyes having to watch this deceiver craft illusions and manage the weather to fool us all. It burns in my heart to watch my friends believe the deceit! And what of his promise, only moments ago, to slay whomever should attack him? He has not struck me down. Until he does so, he is a liar. Any who follow me and not this liar will now aid me in destroying him! Fear not. Good will prevail. I drop my arm then and let out the song of fury, ordering the attack. Reloading as fast as I can, I also make another attack, side-stepping Sandrel, Dice Roll:

Sandrel surprised by the sudden change, looks over the man, and sighs, while shaking his head. It is almost as if he wishes to be slain, for every time he says he wil be tested or parlay, he does something to excite the others.
Stepping back, Sandrel palms his bow.

Tyren reacts now to Eindric's shouts. "I have shown you the light of Apollo on my body. The sun forsakes you, but not me, watch!" He rushes across the ground, Eindric's arrow missing him by scant millimeters as he moves. Leaping over the cleric he comes down with painful swiftness atop Eindric.

With near supernatural swiftness, Tyren catches the first arrow fired, from Tenyanie's bow and fits it to his bow as he strikes Eindric with his booted foot. Twisting in midair as he rebounds from the attack, Tyren returns Teny's own arrow right back towards her, his hands moving up to knock down some of the other arrows.
