Because you are skilled, does not prove Apollo's blessing. I can lay waste to the villagers here but it would prove nothing. Eindric spits along with a helping of blood. In close quarters now, and hurt badly, he quickdraws his staff and takes a defensive stance.
He believes that someone so foul and subversive to order and truth must be chaotic and for the first time, uses a mighty power from his staff (3 charges vs. 1 for everything else) and invokes a the protection of Law. Quote:
Confident that he has guessed correctly that this being is in opposition to law, Ein calls for all out attack on this incredibly acrobatic rogue, shouting CHARGE! adding a blood and spittle infused song of wrath. (1st of 4 songs fades now - replaced by a 5th) Quote:

OOC Sorry about posting speed.. been ill, and cant really do multiple posts at the late hour you guys have been...
Sandrel sees lots of things deteriorating. Despite Eindric's words, no proof has been given that this is Loki. At the same time, he cannot watch his brother simply be killed. "Stop this I beg of you. No good comes of this. Whichever one of you is right, and one of you may be , this is the wrong way to act. There is no honor in this confrontation. you wish me to believe you good friend, and while I love you as any man would love his own brother, battle is not the answer. You have the power to stop it. And you, you are guide by a god of some sort. Either you speak truth, and with short time I can learn if this is true, or you lie, and I can learn of this as well. I tell you this, if we are killed, Dragonslicer shall not be yours. It shall be returned to Apollo, who will punish me or not, but you shall not win by force. You have the power to stop this as well. I, it seems, do not." Sandrel looks toward the heavens, and does not defensively cast the following spell provoking an attack of opportunity . . . lets see if anyone attacks me. "Good master, I ask for forgiveness and understanding as always. Shine your light through my eyes and hands as you have done so many times before. Through this light, please give me the strength to help my good ally and brother, though he may not understand your ways. Sandrel casts Cure serious wounds upon Eindric, taking a five foot step to be standing closer to him (I realize its not much of a difference, just (assuming no attack, and assuming no hit) Dice Roll:
If Im attacked, that will certainly allow me to decide.... and if needed, concentration check: Dice Roll:

Ok, so unless im done 19 points of damage on the attack of Opp, then Eindric will be healed for 19 points. If I take more than 18 (19 or more) then my spell is lost, unable to maintain concentration...

**OOC: I thought that if you were struck you could roll another check at the old DC plus the amount of damage taken. Have I been screwing that up all this time?
And don't sweat the posting delays mate. Life happens.** Eindric is disgusted. But he will not stop singing this time to continue trying in vain to convince Sandrel that Apollo's words and this Man's words are in opposition nor to point out that his response - that of calling up a storm, combined with his superior fighting prowess, magical resistance, and incredible skill at lying leaves few possibilities about who this person is and none of them point to the possibility that he is an agent of Apollo. Ein lets his own magical effect wash over the area, and is pleased to know that Sandrel still cares about his condition. The healing goes a long way to restoring Ein's health and this brightens his mood greatly, though he will still continue what he now considers to be a holy war. If not for the healing, Ein would have begun to believe that Sandrel had fallen under an evil spell. He just hopes that the Cleric does not extend the same healing to his chaotic evil enemy but he will cross that bridge when he gets to it. Likely, he thinks, that Apollo's healing will not be channelled into health for the blasphemer and holds onto that thread of hope while he waits for the other shoe to drop and the fury of Flying E's comes raining down on the imposter (4 songs in effect). When the trickster begins the continuation of his assault Ein will decide - or rather, his divinely inspired combat reflexes will decide for him and he will reflect on it later.

OOC: By the rules (and im fine with whatever hourseules might be run in these situations) the basic way it is done, is that the DC is 10+damage taken for ANY spell if you are hit. Alternatively, you can combat cast and thats 15+spell level. In either case when casting on the defensive, you do not proke. Since my concentration check ended up being a 28, i subtracted 10. So if I take 18 or less points of damage on that attack, i dont lose the spell.... assuming no stunning fist, but thats entirely another matter.

Tyren is indeed fast and supernaturally powerful. The rogue reaches out and grasps one of bows the retreating bowmen are carrying. He snaps off the tip easily and flicks his wrist causing it to reverse in his hand. Before the solder could react, Tyren snaps the now taut string causing the other half of the bow to fly from the man's hand and whip around Tyren's head, lodging into the neck of a soldier who is franticly trying to draw his longsword. Meanwhile, one ot Tyren's feet kicks out, deftly snapping the knee of the now weaponless archer and causing the man to collapse. Tyren pulls back on his improvised weapon of a broken bow, launcing the fractured piece of wood out of the soldier's neck, with a spray of blood and causing it to catch on Sandrel's armor. As the string tightens again, Tyren enters a full extension, leaning over to take the slack on the string and leaping into the air so that his body is almost parellel to the ground. Tyren then utilizes the back and shoulders of the collapsing archer to initiate a very rapid rolling manuevre which causes his legs to lash out at Eindric. Tyren's eyes go wide at Sandrel's mention of the Sword going back to Apollo on it's own and he suddenly draws the bowstring to his chest, causing it to wind around him as he strikes Eindric with his foot. Sandrel is jarred forward by the sudden tightening of the string attached to his armor and is thrown off-balance as Tyren tries to knock him over before the cleric could heal Eindric. As Tyren completes his devastating kick, he spins his body back around so that he would land on his foot and then quickly kneels down, rotating backwards until his raised right foot strikes Eindric again. As he spins and Sandrel teeters, the bowstring is pulled away from Sandrel and then released when Tyren begins to reverse his spin. Again the sliver of wood flies out, this time striking another sword-wielding man directly in the eye.

And you say he does not count as Chaotic? Well the spell still counts for AC and Save +4s to all of those affected but I am shocked. Freakish liar attempting to disrupt orderly life in the region from grand, sweeping issues, to the smallest of details. NOT chaotic? Saying that Apollo would doom his soul for eternity for failing to accomplish a mission that would have been done easily with another simple message? And he is not chaotic? Alrighty. I guess it takes all kinds. He must have an interesting backstory...

*ooc, wow, and a 28 doesnt overcome 3 level spell being tripped? ick, but your right point is moot.*
Yeah, I have no idea where we stand now, or who's turn it is... I _THINK_ its ein's and then Sandrel, but im not sure myself.

Sandrel holds fast, his leg refusing to be buckled. He glowers at Tyren, having just broken the tentative peace he and Sandrel have. Obviously, Sandrel says no words, but simply touches Eindric's shoulder, allowing the power of Apollo, the glorious light, to flow through.

*well, first all the NPC's go, but let's resolve Tyren's round...*
Tyren is indeed fast and supernaturally powerful. The rogue reaches out and grasps one of bows the retreating bowmen are carrying. He snaps off the tip easily and flicks his wrist causing it to reverse in his hand. Before the soldier could react, Tyren snaps the now taut string causing the other half of the bow to fly from the man's hand and whip around Tyren's head, lodging into the neck of a soldier who is franticly trying to draw his longsword. Meanwhile, one of Tyren's feet kicks out, deftly snapping the knee of the now weaponless archer and causing the man to collapse. Sandrel resists the force of the tightening string and maintains his balance, and Tyren's strike on the bard seems to have no effect, bouncing off harmlessly as if from an invisible force. As Tyren completes his kick, he spins his body back around so that he would land on his foot and then rotating backwards, and standing directly before Eindric, bowstring weapon in one hand, the string rapidly wraping about his body, his other hand out, palm open but held firm before the bard. *NPCs attacks happening off-camera...please wait...* |
