So... what shall we do with our friends, who have fallen off the internet? Should we bring in others? I'd prefer others to be ones with track records of proper playing, rather than a generic audition.

Well, I hope they come back, but I know one can't run a game on hope alone. I've had about as good of luck with noob players as I have established ones, so I don't really care about that point.
I can't really recommend anyone as I'm not in many games these days. You're in the one I'm running, so you can pick from your fellow players in that one, if you want. (tries to ignore the nose being poked in). Maybe try to bribe those who frequent the caption competition thread to play, as humor is part of this game.
