As the heroes entered deeper into the cavern the light began to dim. Fruros' sword shone brightly and cut though the darkness to reveal a horrid scene. To their right was a filthy bed that lay mostly in tatters, sheets stained with things best left to the imagination. The floor beside it was covered in food scraps of rotten vegetables and littered bones. A terrible stench could be smelt from that direction. Near the bed was a table. Gold coins, red gems and two glass vials adorn it's surface. But they paled in comparison to the Giant skull that dominated the room. It sat in the corner, almost as though it was guarding something, and stared at the heroes with it's empty sockets.

"Beautiful, isn't she?" a voice asked from the other corner of the room. A bugbear stood in front of two frightened children, a boy that looked only 10, and an older girl, perhaps around 17. They were shackled to the wall and their mouths were gagged. The large goblin looked down at the youngsters then back at the group that had wondered in. "Oh, you are here for them are you?" A vile grin spread across his face. He raised his foot and slammed it down upon the boy's leg. An audible snap is heard, followed by the cries of both of the children. He raised his morning star, a fine object that glistened in the light from Fruros' sword. It almost seemed out of place considering the filth that the bugbear had chosen to live in. "Take them if you can."

Lilith glared at the Bugbear. You will pay for what you have done! as she
Dice initiative:

charges it and
Dice attack, damage:
d20+3+1+2sch15cx,19 (17)+3+1+2 Total = 23

Wargar entered the room with the rest of his party and saw the barbaric way the bugbear broke the young boy's leg. Without hesitation Lilith charged in swinging her blade at the brute. With others in his way, Wargar moved down towards the souther wall and moved along the south wall moving up next to engage the bugbear.

The cave was much smaller than Fruros' expectation and the team soon came to the end of it. His Light spell proved to be useful as this inner part of the cave was much darker than the outer layer. Aside from the litters on the ground, the furnitures appeared structured. The space also contained much more items than the outer space, at least there were items on the table -- unlike the one on the outside. As he turned to the other side of the cave, he saw the two hostages and the freakish bugbear. A huge brute compared to the goblins outside, the creature stood tall over the poor children.

As the bugbear slammed his foot, larger than the child's arm, straight down the poor boy's leg, a cruel realization hit Fruros' mind. Cries of suffering were all over him, not of the children but of the people he had killed in the past. It was all clear to him now, the fact that he was no better than a foul creature in the past. This was really his first time seeing it so clear and thoroughly, for this was the first time he experienced such incident on the other side, the human's side. All the images simply flashed back right in front of his eyes, every stab and slash he did to innocent villagers. Even the children and elders were not spared from the slaughter, as he brought his sword down on them like their life were worth less than dirt, only to take their babies away. All the moans, curses, begging for mercy throughout all those years accrued on his ear drums, like an unending orchestra of suffering.

Heartache. It hurt so much yet he didn't know how to stop it. His hands, despite having a firm grip on the elven blade, were nothing but useless right now. They shook wildly, out of control, as the inner torment continued. Fruros was completely phased out of reality at this moment and it seemed like he would stay like this for a while. He was fighting a completely different battle now -- against himself, his past.

Flacari moved into the cave, behind the other two. With real space available to her, she took close aim at the bugbear, and let fly, hoping for the best.

The bugbear growled angrily as he found himself caught between the wall and his foes. His scowl turned to a wicked smile as he saw the distress in Fruros' eyes at the boy's pain. "Your next," he says to the half-elf before taking a Attack = 22 vs ACswing at Lilith to free himself from his little trap. It Damage = 8lands with a sickening crunch into Lilith's side, it's spikes piercing her flesh.

Bugbear Beatdown Time.

Flacari Avant

Flacari attempted to take better aim this time. She could tell that her new friends were going to need all the help the could get if this bugbear was managing to not get hit by the two standing right in front of it. It also seemed pretty sure of itself as it laughed at the group, and Flacari wasn't sure that she liked that. After releasing her bow, she took a look around the room to make sure that they were in fact alone with it.

Lilith let out a short gasped screamed as the massive hit knocked the wind from her breath. She managed to hold on to her sword as she cradles the wound with her other hand. She manages to withdraw a few feet as she tries to

Wargar could only watch as the morningstar came crashing down into Lilith's body, as she was hit she let out a scream that seemed to fill the cavern. That scream echoed into Wargar's mind and his eyes seemed to glaze over as his muscles bulged beneath his scales almost threatening to burst forth underneath his skin. Wargar's already impressive form somehow became more threatening in an instant. A low guttural growl emerged from his throat, and then in a flash he roared and
Dice Roll:
1d20+9 (16)+9 Total = 25
Attack (using guidance)
whipped his flail around to bring it
Dice Roll:
2d8+10 (4, 6)+10 Total = 20

crashing into the wicked bugbear.

Wargar was overtaken before he could realize. The red haze was a familiar friend, it quietly moved his conscious to the dark recesses of his mind to let his instincts take over. He had given himself over into the rage, and the only thing he felt was his hatred flowing through him. The anger of betrayal & the disgust of a creature as lowly as a bugbear attacking his friend. There was nothing more to do than rip him limb from limb & revel in the fury.

Despite his wounds, the bugbear stood confident and proud of the attack he brought about Lilith. His wicked grin grew wider as she retreated from his reach to recover. He turned to Wargar as the lizard brought forth a guttural growl from the pits of his stomach. The goblin's grin soon turned to wide eyed terror as the head of Wargar's flail swung around and found itself planted across his face. The smack it created was sickening. Blood and teeth flew from his mouth and stuck to the wall behind him as his body fell lifelessly to the floor. Wargar was left trembling from the bloodlust that had taken over him that was sated all to quickly.

The two children were left still chained to the wall. The young boy had tears streaming down his face as he looked at his broken leg, which lay where it was first attacked twisted into an unnatural shape. The girl had ceased her screaming and now looked around at the new occupants of the room. Her gaze seemed to shift between the giant lizardfolk and the horned half-demon.

Wargar's flail had connected with the bugbear's face and made a sickening smack & and audible crack from the bugbear's neck breaking. The sound was something that would churn weaker a man's stomach. With that blow the bugbear was defeated, yet there were no cheers or cries of joy. The children were no longer screaming and the room seemed to have gone silent except for the weeping boy, everyone seemed to be watching what the Lizardfolk would do.

After his swing Wargar stared at the bugbear broken on the floor wishing for it to get up and fight more. Wargar's mouth was frothing and saliva dripped down between his teeth. There wasn't enough blood, he needed more bloodshed...he needed to terrorize. There was a slight rustle of chains that caused Wargar to lift his ponderous head up at the children on the wall where he saw the girl look off to the side drawing his line of sight as well. All clumped standing together were three figures dressed for combat, a sweeter gift couldn't be asked for. Wargar felt this tugging sensation at the back of his mind. His conscious mind was striving to bring himself back under control, testing his mental limits to the breaking point. Wargar's body wasn't ready to give up & let go & started to take a step towards the three warriors.

Not many people understand the plight of a barbarian, each time they let their blood lust take over it could be last time they control their own body. You see the world through a haze and cannot tell friend from foe, just targets and victims to demolish. Sometimes you have to ride the rage till your body is to exhausted to keep going & others have lost control completely, never to stop till their bodies life escapes them. The barbarian can take control back & can happen in an instant, but they have to cage their bodies natural instincts. Many barbarians have a totem or a loved one they focus their emotions & will to give them a boost over their instinct. Wargar had always let his rage take over and destroy all till he was exhausted, many times it ended with some of his own men killed as well.

In the split of a second in the middle of his step he regained control and he almost stumbled backwards. His muscles relaxed and his sight became clear leaving his body exhausted. His new resolve had saved him this time & he hoped would continue to save him in the future. He couldn't bring himself to look at his companions for they must think him the monster he really was. He had always had the rage deep within him & he had done unspeakable horrors while under it's influence, but he couldn't blame the rage. Wargar knew that those things he did were just his own desires, and he enjoyed what he did in those moments.

Wargar put his bloody weapon away & quickly turned around and shuffled to the sothern wall to hid himself and
Dice Roll:
1d20+4 (5)+4 Total = 9
Perception
inspected the skull behind him. Wargar could only hope that they wouldn't banish him from the party, and wished they hadn't seen his true self.

Lilith caught her breath as Wargar felled the creature and was about to continue killing. Wargar, NO! focus on my voice. It's ok. I'm ok. She sheathed her sword moving a bit sluggishly and managed to position herself in front of Wargar, for better or worse.

She placed both hands on his shoulders and looked into his rage/blood-lusted eyes. We're safe now. It's ok. Thank you. She gave him a hug, then soon after, life once again began to show in Wargar's eyes as his mind returned.

Lilith smiled as she was not going to be crushed by Wargar and turned to the children. Children, it's alright. We are here to save you from these creatures and will help you get back to town so you can meet your family.

Looking over the little boy, who's leg was twisted. This might hurt a bit when we go to set it. She had used her ability to cure for the day, but she still had to help the boy. Using her ability, she called upon her powers to Cast Aid to grant him temp HP, just in-case resetting the bone damages him.

As the boy screamed from twisting his leg, I'm sorry. I'm just not use to this. Lilith looked at the boy and tried to comfort him. She wasn't sure if her spell was still protecting him, so she renewed it's magic as she continued to

The many screams pulled Fruros back into reality as his imaginery vision and sound faded away like he just woke from a dream. ****, what am I doing? Fruros quickly assessed the situation. The bugbear was dead on the ground, killed by his companion judging by the wounds and amount of blood on the ground. His companions all seemed okay aside from Lilith, whose side was still bloodied from the recent blow.

Then, he realized Lilith was on her amateur nursing attempt once again. He had enough of it this time, the girl really shouldn't be doing that when she has no grasp of the skill. He wanted to talk to the girl after he did that to the guy on the road but they were too busy tracking for him to talk. He postponed it, figuring that he could talk about it with the girl at night, but now he really regretted not doing it earlier. It seemed that he couldn't even do anything right at this point.

"Seriously, Lilith, can't you see you are not helping by randomly twisting his leg around. Are you going to be tracking for Flacari soon just because you think you can? Please, just leave the this kind of stuff to the person that know what he or she is doing." Fruros was harsher than he wanted to, still frustrated and shocked by the vision.

He stabbed his sword near the boy to provide him some lighting as he Heal: Taking 10, so 10+7 = 17checked on the boy, making sure the boy's leg was still fine after the "twister" treatment. After he was certain the boy could be fine, he took a look at Lilith's wound as well. "Hey guys, I think we need to look for a key around here. Maybe check the room and the dead bugbear?"

[OOC: I really should have started with Cure Light Wound, now I can't do much healing lol.]

Lilith breathed a sigh of relief when Fruros stepped up and knew what he was doing. Yea, sorry but I just wanted to help. as she backed off to let the professionals do their thing. When Fruros looked at her wound, it looked pretty bad. He could judge if she suffered another one like that she probably would not survive. She looked at him with slight concern when he checks her wound, So, how is it Doc? Despite hurting and throbbing like heck.

Flacari Avant

Flacari watched as the lizards flail came around and 'crowned' the bugbear. 'Better it than me.' But still, the act of causing someone's death still troubled her. If she didn't know better, she would think that the lizard was relishing in it's actions. And for a bit she feared for herself. Not because she thought that the lizard would turn on her, but because she could see herself in that same position. Relishing in the death.

As Wargar moved away from the slaughter, she understood his reasoning for looking at the skull, anything for a distraction. Lilith's attempt at consoling him seemed unnecessary to her. He wouldn't be consoled... at least if he was internalizing his actions as she would be doing in his place. As Lilith and Fruros attended to the male child's leg, Flacari went to the bubear's body. It would need to have keys in order to lock up the children. And She had a feeling that the girl and the boy was probably sore form being chained like they were.
