1. Athenian by birth she prides herself on the democratic nature of her city in allowing her to fight for them
2. She is tall for a woman and perhaps just a shade taller than the average man. She has a well muscled form with dark brown hair, green eyes, and a deep bronze tan. Along with all that she has two notable scars: One across her left eye and one on her left forearm
3. The scar on her left eye is from a battle against the Persians and the one on her forearm is from a fight with a lion.
4. She served in the Athenian army for a good period of time, learning how to hold the line and always respectful of the mantra “with your shield or on it”
5. Nike is not boastful and rarely speaks of her own accomplishments. When with others she will be more likely to ask hem about their deeds and how they were accomplished then to brag on her own. She tries her best to be friendly and is protective of others, especially her shield sisters and brothers.

 

1. Nike’s own personal goal is to someday see Athena and be blessed in her wisdom and to know true victory
2. I would like to see Nike develop as something of the “Mother Bear” and hope she will gain companions as well as be significant to the adventure path

 

1. Nike remembers most a the battle against the Persians during the Ionian revolt. She received her scar when she dropped her shield and almost ran. She only turned back to the battle when a Persian sliced her arm and she became angry enough to power past her fear. She has never told anyone this.
2. Unknown to Nike her family is heavily in debt and there are numerous bills that need to be paid. Some collectors have possibly attempted to collect and she has just shot them down as unworthy suitors not realizing what they wanted.

 

Mehanna and Darmon Sparagmos – Nike’s mother and father, both are deep in debt due to bad planning and poor harvests along with gambling.

Captain Themskryion – Nike’s commanding officer in the Athenian army. She respects him more than any other person. He is responsible for her skill at arms and she would do most anything for him if asked.

Agrekemos the Spartan - Nike made a deadly enemy of a Spartan man named Agrekemos. She spurned his advances and when he went after her further she beat him senseless. Agrekemos feels that Nike cheated and that she should be brought low.

 

Turning each of your memories into a short RP sample (a paragraph or two each) would help me know your play style.
1. The giant stood up and up, he was gigantic towering over her and her companions like some great Titan of old. Looking at him she absently rubbed her scar on her left forearm. She would not be a coward today, "That is enough giant be you or man I care not. Either stand down or be defeated in battle. Choose your fate!"

She finished with a yell pulling her shield into position and attempting to stare the creature down despite their size differential.

2. The giant had decided not to stand down and it was attacking her and her companions. "Athena guide my hand and bring us Victory!" she shouted as she attacked the creature. Her spear flashing and shield ready to parry blows, but even as she shouted her request to Athena the giant had kicked one of her companions into the air and sent him crashing Even so she moved into position adding to her previous words a vile curse, "By Zeus' balls I will slice you down to size!

3. She walked into the thinly peopled tavern and examined its occupants with a discerning eye. An old man was in the corner he was no threat at all, two women stood at the front near the bartender none of the three were any sort of danger. In the middle of the room was a man in armor and dressed like a mercenary. She eyed his sword and his arms for a few moments and decided that it would be a tough call between them in a fight.

As a suggestion -- Elves and Half-Elves could be Oriental (what the Greeks referred to as the Seres which were the people of Serica) and they could speak Chinese instead of elven


On a character note -- which would everyone like to see more a Cleric or a Sorcerer (and that goes for you as well GM) I could play either but not sure which might be needed the most -- the group has a Fighter, Barbarian, and Bard ... so the tanking seems to be covered and the Bard can heal so was not sure if a Cleric would be the most needed thing but then was not sure if the group would want a Sorcerer as magic using types were not really a concept in their mythology beyond really powerful ones -- or maybe I could start as a Rogue and have the character become a Sorcerer due to "newer" environment or something to that effect

Personality

Themis is the curious sort, always wanting to know how things work and what makes folk tick as such he tends to ask a lot of questions. While he believes that disasters are just natures way of effecting major change in things and are to be expected and to some degree accepted, he is always ready to lend a helping hand to someone who finds themselves in trouble. He will also frequently share the one of the many lessons that he has learned from observing nature in order to help share the enlightenment. He tends to judge folks by their actions rather than their words because words are often worth nothing more than the hot air they travel on. Further he takes no stock in the wealthy or well-mannered folk, as money and manners will not save you from a pack of hungry wolves.

Ideal

Everyone should be free to pursue their own livelihood and the tyrants that would oppress others for their own gain should not be allowed to remain. Still those who blindly follow the orders of others, embrace a form of self-imposed tyranny and should be educated so that they may correct this wrong. For the world is in need of new ideas and bold action neither of which will flourish under the heavy heel of tyranny. For it is inquiry and curiosity that are the pillars of progress and nothing should fetter the infinite possibility inherent within all existence. It is our calling to bring about the changes that the gods are constantly working within the world or our idleness will cause us to suffer their wrath. For life is like the seasons, in constant change, and we must change with it. In doing so the will be lifted up, while the high and mighty will be brought low. It is our responsibility to make the world a better place than it was or is. Increasing its beauty for the truly beautiful points us beyond itself towards that which is the truth. Although beauty is not just an external element it is an internal one as well and perhaps is much more important. For ones internal ugliness far to often is reflected outward into the external world. Folks must be taught that the gifts the gods gave them were meant to be shared with all, not just used for ones on personal benefit. For through the sharing of ones gifts each person creates the most happiness for all, and this is more than just a good thing but a responsibility for one and all. Lastly while all folks, rich or poor, deserve to be treated with dignity, respect is something they must earn through their actions.

Bond

Family is important and Themis has family but he currently has no idea where they are or how they are fairing. Someday he hopes to see them again. Still everything he does is focused on helping the common people as they are the ones most in need as well as the most deserving. Of course, due to his strong connection to nature, he feels that an injury to the wilderness is an injury to himself and as such he will address these situations with the necessary remedy which is generally either preferably through kind education or harsh punishment. Recently, however, his isolation within the wilderness and the dealings with the fantastical beings that live there, he has gained insight into a great coming evil. After gaining this insight he began to suffer awful visions of this coming disaster should it not be prevented as such he is willing to do anything to prevent this disaster. These visions continue to haunt him daily as he cannot get the images of the carnage that could be wrought out of his mind and this drives his steps over forward.

Flaw

While he will help those in need, he will not help those that will not help themselves for in nature it is for the betterment of the species that only the strong thrive while the weak must perish and those who will not strive to help themselves are to weak of mind to be allowed to flourish. This concept is part of the reason Themis left the civilized world for the harsh wilderness because he had a very strong tendency to over-indulge in the all the delights and pleasures that civilization had to offer and while absence has allowed him to curb this behavior it is far from being purged from his system. He still wonders from time to time if he risked too much to uncover the lost bits of knowledge that he has uncovered, only time will tell if his pursuit of this knowledge will prove to have been folly.

WIP = Work In Process -- I wanted to get what I had up so that you could at least see that I have actually been doing something as well as to make sure you were okay with it -- creating a sheet from what I have posted is fairly easy and straight forward and I can probably get that done today. So I will put that next on my list and work on the character fluff after I have the Link in place.

If your going to be a crafter, why do you have such low int? is it connected to wisdom.

As far as I know Crafting in 5th Edition is not connected to anything you just have to have the skill and the tools and you automatically can produce 5gp worth of whatever. I am not even sure if in the official guidelines one has to even make a roll for this. But yeah I would imagine his crafting is more wisdom based than intelligence base as its more Druid/Sorcerer based than it is Wizard based -- see my PM to about the Discovery thing.

Now as for me I once drilled down into the crafting skill and outlined a specific attribute based on the type of crafting but that was (as I found out) a bit to detailed so I dialed back and now in Pathfinder by Crafting is based on Wisdom and my Profession skill is based on Intelligence and my Performance skill is based on Charisma --- this way all 3 mental attributes are represented within these 3 occupational skills and thus I have an avenue for just about anyone to follow as well as a balanced occupational system. So if a player wants to pick up an occupational skill to augment their adventuring they will typically have at least one avenue that they can pursue -- thus giving them something to do during their downtimes
