Amariya flashes a smile of gratitude at the dispersing crowd, quite pleased with the reactions she'd gotten. She never felt quite so alive as when she was the center of attention and knew it. Of course, some audiences were more difficult to win over than others and some didn't respond to her at all, but the festivalgoers here at Sandpoint seemed quite willing to appreciate and admire her little performances. She certainly wasn't about to object to that.

At Marcel's words, Amariya laughs softly. "You're very fortunate," she answers, sticking out her tongue. "If I were more like the rest of my clan, I'd be spinning you a tale right now about how I came dancing out of my mother's womb into the midwife's arms. And I'd be charging you a pretty copper or two for the pleasure of hearing it. Lucky for you, I'm a terrible storyteller!"

Her mood sobering, she tilts her head to one side and ponders for a moment. "Speaking of my clan, though," she continues, "if you want to see a really good dancer, you should meet my youngest aunt on my father's side. Once, when we stopped near Korvosa, some noble fell madly in love with her and wrote odes calling her an angel and such. When she dances, she can turn your bones to water. She's the one who taught me."

Pais had found his way to a small corner of town, behind a local blacksmiths. It'd been about 45 minutes since he'd arrived. Here was the place where his friend Syeira had been killed all those years ago, and for nearly an hour now, he'd been sitting at a nearby tree thinking about that day, and everything that had come around in the years since.

Leaving behind one of the turtle snacks at the place where Syeira rested, her body having been buried underneath the tree, Pais finally got up decided it was time to head on back to the festival, and see what the good folk of the town were doing. Who knows, maybe Syeira is watching on it, and having fun in her own way now.
