Happy New Year 2025!!!
Happy 2025! by Ic3h4mm3r

Happy New Year everyone! Personally, the past year had some great highlights but also some truly difficult stretches. I'm pretty happy with the highlights, but I'll gladly reach for a lot less of the trials and tribulations during this next turn around the sun. May 2025 be full of good things for each and every one of you. I wish you and your loved ones good health and success in your and their endeavours! Charity Drive 2024 final tally We finished our 13th annual December drive with a total of $1555.40 raised for the Brain and Behavior Research Foundation. A contribution to celebrate! This brings our grand total raised over the past 13 years to $23952.39! I'm proud that our community continues to make an impact in this way. Thank you to everyone who participated, and to all those in the wider ttRPG community who supported us by donating prizes and mentioning us in social media! More site members than usual stepped up to add their creations to the bundle, which was an awesome addition this year: special thanks to mountainbound, ogamodyna, Ic3h4mm3r, JaredSyn, and savoylen for the great additions! For those who receive rewards from the drive: please make an effort to write an online review of any accessory you use to give a helping hand to the generous prize donors. I aim to finish my part in handling all the prizes during the first week of January and you should be receiving everything soon after that. I will be sending out a reminder message very soon to remind prize recipients to submit the information necessary for reward distribution. Some highlights from the year: At the beginning of February, lostcheerio was announced as the winner of the 2023 post of the year!. You are invited to check out this entry in the life of Bingle here. Keep an eye on the Announcements forum in the coming month to learn the winner of the 2024 Post of the Year. Later in February, moderators Retry, HenryLockwood, and Aethera stepped away from duties on site staff to pursue gaming and "real life" (whatever that is) full time. In August, they were joined by Wynamoinen and Admin Ronarscorruption. Also in August, Bhelogan became Admin Bhelogan and has been doing a great job helping to fill the hole left by these long-time contributors! A current list of site staff is available here. We plan to do a staff review in January and put out an application to join this volunteer crew mid-month sometime; keep your eyes on the announcements if you are interested! Once again, we opted for an alternate April 1 celebration. After five years, I guess that's become our tradition now. Instead of a prank, we had another community day(s) These days of appreciating one another coincided with the beginning of the 2024 Scavenger Hunt, won by the Book Eaters, who answered questions, found hidden eggs, completed tasks, swiped a T-Rex egg and taught Prince Pimplepop of the goblins to get in touch with his inner teenage rebel. Two competitive teams finished the Hunt in 2 weeks; two other non-competitive teams stuck with it and completed the Hunt in October! Thanks to all the competitors and the volunteer organisers and GMs! In April, we also updated the suggested method of contacting a moderator should a community member need to do so. In a nutshell, the best way to get in touch with a moderator in a timely way is to visit our updated could the next available moderator please contact me? thread. Note that this should not replace the report function: if you have encountered a questionable post somewhere on the site, please report it using the link at the top right of the post ( or the words "report post"); this will receive rapid attention from moderators. In May, wodine and a team of volunteers published RPG Crossing's official general guidelines for inclusive gaming. The guidelines include helpful tools for creating games and characters for all of us, and an explanation of our community expectations. Thank you to all those who contributed to the careful and thoughtful discussion and preparation of this document. We hope this will help make the site a more open and enjoyable place for all gamers to tell better and more authentic stories. Later in May, savoylen announced this year's inductees into RPG Crossing's Hall of Fame. Congratulations to Dragons of a Broken World GM'd by Elanir and The Witch is Dead GM'd by Mallothi! In December, after weeks of competition, savoylen announced the winners of the 2024 Iron DM contest! Congratulations to winner Psuedenim with A Quarrel and Fable (A unnamed system) and runner-up Rhaiber with The Isle of Gilleah (A DnD 2024 Adventure). Check out their creations! And wow! As of the end of November, we were up to 1228 NPSG grads and going strong! Thank you to everyone who contributes to that amazing initiative! I'd also like to give a shout out to everyone who takes a moment out of their day to welcome new members to our community - thank you! And that's a wrap! Happy New Year and good luck in all your adventures in 2025! Now go play some games!* I wish you all health and happiness in the year to come! Thank you to all our community members, and especially without whose financial support this community would not be possibleCS members, staff and other volunteers for an excellent 2024. I can't wait to see what 2025 holds! - Mark / Birched PS If you are running something on the site that I haven't mentioned, or if you see any errors or omissions, please send me a pm and let me know! I'll add it to my note this year and for future years. *Unless, of course, you like lists, in which case you should take a look at the following just for fun, and then go play some games. Users who referred the most new users who stuck around to make at least 10 posts in 2024. Thanks!
