[Mechanics] Rules and Dice Rolls

1- This thread is for any dice rolls.

2- For stats, roll 4d6, 7 times, drop lowest roll and lowest score. No re-rolling 1's though.

3- You start with 100,000 Gold, but you must keep in mind that you can only bring with you what you could realistically carry with you on a two month ocean voyage. Other than that you can use the money for whatever you want. We can discuss estates, mercenaries, whatever.

4- You will also be allowed two magical items of your choosing, pending my approval. I want to keep magic items rare in this campaign, or I would offer you more. You can pick your items from any book, as long as you make me aware of the properties of the item should I not have the material necessary to research it myself.

5- You will also be allowed one animal companion if you like. Just let me know what you want. In addition you are allowed companions/henchmen/familiars as befitting your class and level.

6- This is a game about exploring a previously undiscovered continent and bringing back valuable information about that continent to your government. Thus there are several special rules that I'm going to implement for as long as you wish to adhere to the guidelines set forth in the contest.

7- You will be asked to keep a journal of pertinent events. This can mean anything. You could write about getting attacked by the natives should that happen, or you could write about a flower you found. You don't have to write in it with every post you make and I'm not going to penalize anyone who doesn't wish to write in it, but I will be rewarding ingame XP for each post. The point is to create a record of events as your character see's them.

8- This being a new world almost nothing has been named. Plants haven't been identified, animals haven't been classified, lakes, rivers, mountains, it's all up for grabs as far as what you want to name them. This is a part of "mapping" the area as outlined in the contest. It can also be used as filler in your journals.
