Man, y'all are making me rethink the whole "no kids" thing.

I also am definitely up for background things! Especially amongst the Jedi. There were only 20k in the whole galaxy, and now that number is pretty much down to like, 100, so we'd probably know each other at least in passing. Have heard names, maybe. Could do a round robin background bit in Dresden fashion, so each person knows two other people, if we all want to have a background tie.

Edit: Looking through backstories for ideas, Xber and I already have a tie. We both wrote in that we were one of the 212 at the first battle of Geonosis. Mooz' and my PC are both older Jedi, so there might be something there.

Megiddo I agree this is a pretty straightforward one as unintentional as it was, especially given the number of survivors in this battle was 30 or so. Yeah we should definitely know each other at least by name. I am not keen on knowing someone all too well beforehand since getting to know a player and developing an in game familiarity is interesting in on itself. But loose ties like that can actually add elements on the table.

Ariadne is a young Jedi even if fairly experienced due to participation in the war, so Mooz's character wouldn't probably know of her and vice versa. I am still looking over backgrounds to conjure up possible ideas ect. In cases of anyone participated in the clone wars anyway, opportunities are plenty. In Anazider's case a possibility could also be that both him and Ariadne were dwelling in the Outer Rim in the aftermath of Order 66 since it's an area my character is especially familiar with as she was assigned on several missions in the Outer Rim during the war.

Any more ideas are more than welcome! Excitement is overflowing!

Should anyone be interested in knowing the soon-to-be Sith, there's a couple stand outs as for the how.

Aside from the fact that he is a very distinctive four-armed force sensitive, he has spent the past eight years in the crew of a very Pro-Republic smuggler, who was also quite active working on behalf of the Republic, especially during the Clone Wars. It's unstated, but it would be entirely unsurprising for him to be helping Jedi during the Purge, so some of you may have been aboard the Persephone for one reason or another, either before or after Rensarren's capture.

There was also a couple years where a force-sensitive six-legged wolf was running around the ship, in case that ever came to the attention of any passengers.

Did he ever take any formal force or diplomatic training? Or deal with the republic's diplomatic corps?

If only there were a playable Priapulin species in the game... would be awesome to wield 6 lightsabers all at once!

Ren is an untrained force sensitive, and his only training has come from the rest of his crew, so no to both of those. While many aboard the Persephone do have strong ties to the Republic, Ren does not. It's still quite likely that the Persephone has seen passengers of both kinds, though, particularly if it was a clandestine operation during the Clone Wars. Captain Callum's ship was quite active during the conflict.

While that is indeed all kinds of awesome, I'm going to focus on two-handing two weapons. I may also be an evil, horrible person and look into grappling. That way I can pin people to the ground and repeatedly stab them with lightsabers until they die from it. The things I can do with four arms, while not the most mechanically impressive, are still all kinds of hilarious.

I am not rethinking that *at all*. But it also helps that it's also been unanimously decided that I'm going to end up as the "awesome uncle" to all of my friends' kids. One of them has already decided that I'm going to have to DM his kid's first RPG game. I never had a say in the matter.

I may need to do some google-fu, but there's a video on the inter-webs of a little girl taking a knee in front of Darth Vader and joining the dark side at the Disney park. It's downright magical, and the kinds of thing that I fully encourage.

Good times! A couple of top-o'-the-dome connections while I'm still at work:


-Ariadne: "Arya" could have been a passenger on Anazider's ship as he was ferrying people to remote outposts in the Outer Rim.

-Kaer: Kaenos could have gone through a local black market connection to get a banned food/alcohol/substance for the bar he's tending, and Anazider could have been the one to smuggle it in to the connect.

-People that served for the Republic during the Clone Wars: Harkend's Angels could have delivered supplies to your outfit while you were behind a blockade, and/or provided an emergency evac once.

-Everyone: "Hey, I know you! Weren't you on that show Green Spark or something? I/my mother used to love/hate that show, and I'd really like an autograph/to punch your face!"

I am up for this it thematically fits. I will go a step further to assume she wasn't the only passenger at the time but rather Anazider was transferring a group of folks. That way it would seem more logical for them not to actually know each other that well. Something like "Do I know you?" kind of way.

Then again maybe Arya made an impression. She is a sexy b**ch that can sing after all...

It took me awhile to learn that, too. I still like trawling through app threads and stealing the code from apps that I really like.

That's how I learned to make tables in the first place. That character sheet table originally comes from an old Final Fantasy d20 game I played a few years back actually, though I've tinkered around with the code and modified its bit.
