Name: Kokuryuu Kage (BlackDragon Shadow of Death)

Profession: Samurai/Bounty Hunter.

Description: 6ft tall toned wears all black even his Kasa is black. And a long kimono over coat with a red dragon
on the back. Has a side arm but is known for his sword and hand to hand. Looks dangerous cause he is.
right-aligned image

Backstory:
Kokuryuu Kage was born in Portland which has a Daimyo and entire culture based around the Samurai Code in this world. Problem is they are really Pro Asian, Anti-everybody else. This pushes the line from honor to tyrannical separatist.

His parents actually fed a family that had been being hunted by bandits. The Daimyo found out and unstead of helping, (the true samurai way) he ordered his parents to seppuku. He was 13. When this happened. He was placed in the samurai warrior school. And trained to serve and protect the Daimyo who had ordered his parents death. A fact Kokuryuu Kage never forgot. As he grew and trained his understanding of the samurai code and the action of his home land was in conflict. So at age 20 he left.

That was 8 years ago. He needed food money and a way to show the true samurai code. When he came across a bandit trying to kill a family. He used his katana and martial arts skills to kill the bandit. Shortly the sheriff arrived. At first he was mad but then he saw who the bandit was. The bandit had a dead or alive warrant/Bounty on his head. And this lone man had beat him. The sheriff took Kokuryuu Kage to his office paid the Bounty. Abd then explained what a law Dog was. And so Kokuryuu Kage became the Samurai Law Dog Bounty hunter. For 8 years he's built his rep up. People know if a warrant say alive that's how he brings them if it says dead well... if it says dead or alive then he let's them decide. He also takes contracts to help towns in need that have no law offices. Or just need help. He travels with a Dunebuggie that is aptly called the Doombuggie. Uses a wagon from time to time to haul in bounties. Kokuryuu Kage to the evil elements is known as "The Shadow of Death ".

Withdrawing interest apologies, I’m at my absolute limit in games, and the thought of trying to learn another new system right now is a bit much for me.

I'm considering the 18th but there's nothing official. The group is coming up on a location where new people could be introduced so having anyone joining by then is ideal, but that timing depends on how quickly they post and if they chat extensively with NPC's at the checkpoint they're passing. If our new blood can't be ready by then I'll probably have to run them as a separate group while the first posse is dealing with buisness in Afton.

In truth that might be the best way to handle things, allowing the new posse members to ease into their characters by roleplaying against one another before meeting up with the main group.

Either way, I don't want to make people wait too long. Once you're all ready I'll go ahead with the judging.

That said Tyreal, You've only spent 11/12 skill points by my count Notice and Shooting did cost double (2p) to upgrade to d6 and d8 respectively due to being higher then they're linked stat but both Notice and Persuasion start at d4 for free. Might I suggest Survival d4 to account for surviving in a hellscape and the wilderness in your background. Ore perhaps Occult to account for knowledge you've learned from your time in the Hunting Grounds. You might also want to take up to your maximum in Hinderances to receive one more starting Advancement. It's not necessary of course but can help to create a more interesting character.

Perhaps Outsider (Minor) to account for being a man outside of his original time, All Thumbs (Minor) to show that he's not accustomed to 'future' tech, Habit/Quirk (Minor)(Quoting Scripture/Praying) a practice that helped keep his faith in hell, Enemy (Minor) as a demon still hunting him, or Vow (Minor)(Bring Faith Back to the World). Any two of these could earn you an additional Edge and I believe can fit with your character.

Hotshot Lasgun, you have one more Advancement then you should. I believe the issue is from Vet which still takes up an Edge despite giving you four; effectively netting you 3 more then normal. In essence it looks like this:

Free Edge (Human) 1 + Hinderances 2 - 1 (Veteran Edge) + 4 (Veteran of the Wasted West) = Net Gain 6 Advancements

Currently you have spent,
- 1 Advancement Attributes
- 6 Advancements Edges
- 14 Skill points = 12 Free SP + 1 Advancement
This indicates 8 Advancements spent out of the 7 you should have with Veteran (1 Human+2 Hinderanc+4 Vet)

As mentioned, I believe this is due to seeing Veteran as a basic choice that only costs you a random hinderance rather then and Edge that gives you a random Hindrance and extra Advancements.

Speaking of, let's make that roll. We'll roll d54 numbers starting with Ace of clubs, moving up to king of clubs for 13, then diamonds, hearts, and spades in sequence before finishing with black joker (53) and red joker (54).
Dice Veteran of the Wasted West:
1d54 26

King (Marked For Death): Some intelligent and evil abomination (Or possibly in Reaper's case one of his victims) from the hero’s past uttered a dying curse. All of the hero’s Soak rolls are at –2.

As a house rule, I allow you to re-roll this once if this first pick doesn't suit your vision for your character but once the second roll is made, you're stuck with it.

Thanks for the info! Had spent those points on Notice and Persuasion as I thought I didn't start with those. Picked up Survival as I agreed with your suggestion.

Also went with Minor Quirk (Quoting Scripture/Praying) as he very much did a lot of that in his time struggling through the Hunting Grounds. And something he'd very much continue to do in this new godless landscape. Along with Enemy (Minor). Something escaping the Hunting Grounds to chase him, literally and in his dreams, sounds like fantastic RP fuel. As much as I'd love to take Tale Teller as his other Edge, far as I can tell I don't really have a way to gain the one Charisma I need to take it. So I think I'll scoop up The Voice. Seems like it'd be pretty helpful for a preacher to be compelling in his speech.

Hotshot: I don't know... Last time I lent someone money to buy stuff they never paid me back

Tyeal: Charisma is a hold over from the last edition which they printed Hell on Earth for just before switching over to Adventure edition. Just ignore it, a d8 in Persuasion is enough of a requirement for Tale Teller.

I believe 'The Voice' is also from 4th edition and wasn't transfered into Adventure Edition.

My suggestion, either take Tale Teller or Charismatic.

Charismatic
REQUIREMENTS: Novice, Spirit d8+
Your hero is likable for some reason. She may be trustworthy or kind, or might just exude confidence and goodwill. You get one free reroll on Persuasion rolls.

Alright, here you go Las.
Dice Veteran of the Wasted West:
1d54 1

Deuce (Jinxed): This hombre ran into something that jinxed him bad. He gains the Bad Luck Hindrance. If he already has it, it
stacks and he starts with two less Bennies.

OOH, Bad Luck (Literally). Might explain how you were captured by the other characters and forced to help.

Ah, okay! Would explain why I couldn't find the ruling on Charisma for the life of me... Taking Tale Teller!

Taleteller has us earning Bennies back from relaxing and things. That said Bennies are used to perform Soak rolls so you are still a little boned with the Bad Luck. We have some Jackalope feet that could counter that but you'd have to ask nicely.

This is what TT mentioned before about recovering Bennies.

BenniesOne aspect of Savage world is 'Bennies'. Every Character starts with 3 of these and they can be used to do things like re-rolls, regain power points, recover from being shaken, and even be used with some Perks as described below (see original add for perks). Normally these points will recover at the end of each game while Bonus Bennies can be earned from gutsy actions, good roleplay, or when a Hindrance really comes into play.

For this game we will be running it a little differently.

First of all you will not recover Bennies for nothing. To recover a Bennie you must perform an action that allows you to either relax or gain a boost in confidence. Some actions can be worth more then one Bennie but your day to day carryover limit is what you would normally start a game with. Bonus Bennies above this limit will be available during the day you receive them but will be lost the next day if they exceed the Normal Limit (3 but this might be altered if you normally have more such as children).

Actions to recover Bennies can include, but are not limited to...
- Resting in a safe and relatively comfortable area (1 Bennie)
- Resting in a safe and comfortable area with some luxuries (2 Bennies)
- Resting at a safe and luxurious area with things like silk sheets and goose down billows (3 Bennies)
- Having a simple hearty and filling meal (1 Bennie)
- Having a hearty and filling meal with some small luxury like a can of pop or alcohol (2 Bennies)
- Having a luxurious meal (3 Bennies)
- Succeeding in a daring and dangerous stunt (1-3 Bennies depending on difficulty)
- Sleeping with or spending time with individuals who are trained to help you relax (1-3 Bennies)
- Listening to a Performance (1-3 Bennies depending on Performance Success and Raises)
- Etc.

A character can only benefit from one particular action once in a day. If an action has different tiers, like meals, then only the highest one counts.
BTW, Looking forward to meeting you all in game
Any of you have an idea or suggestions on how to prepare against the Combine to protect the Ranch?

OK new recruits. I'll have the party going to a bar where you three could easily meet up with them. Have you discussed how the three of you are linked and why you might be helping the main group?

I talked with BlackDragon before about how the posse's previous Law Dog, Garrat, likely got in contact with him over the radio to ask him to help out with the Crooked Creak situation. I figured Kokuryuu and Father Paul teamed up recently to take down the gang Reaper was a part of before receiving the message from Garret. Reaper's a prisoner but might have convinced them to give him a chance at redemption by helping out.

His real plan... That's up to HL.

Now this is only a suggestion and I'm not pushing you guys into the game immediately but ironing out these details is needed before I can pull you into the game.
