Congrats to Kariel Lateef for having one of his short story submissions published in edition #9 of Explosive Runes! I just noticed earlier today and am psyched to see that we have drawn the interest of the higher powers:P Thanks to JayRob and the rest of the crew!

Are there any rules about editing? I missed a bracket on my spoilerbutton code, and figured that had better be fixed. The edit was right after I posted it.

You can edit up until the submissions are moved to the voting thread at the end of the month.

Alas, I was working so hard I didn't get to enter this month. I think I have a drunken start to one on my zip drive. Oh well, there is always next month!

What do you guys think about doing a horror theme for next month in honor of Halloween?

Ravenloft all the way, baby! I think I also hear the haunting theme of Micheal Myers. It's in 5/4 time (I think) that's what makes it so unnerving.
I hate to say it, but as soon as I thought I wouldn't use Thorn for the next story competition, a story leaped to mind using all the elements mentioned. How can I not use the idea? Are you guys bored with Thorn, or could you stomach another tale of hapless circumstances leading to grave ones? Will that half-orc ever catch a break? We shall see. But seriously, is it good enough for another episode, or should I move on?

Its definitely good enough. I enjoyed your last story more than I did the first, which to me says that my involvement in the character is progressing. Plus, if you do eventually convert his story to novel form, these exercises will help you I bet.
