Since I planned on doing pretty much all melee in animal form using various buffs, having the mace is an addition to my kitchen drawer full of versatility my quarter staff will literally only be used for storing a spell using The spell staff spell.

I have an at will spell that literally sucks the very blood from peoples veins without giving them a save. A quarterstaff, even one that does INT damage, just isn't going to come up often.

I do love the idea of the quarterstaff though. Especially since with a gesture it turns into a giant tome of awesome. I have some very cool visuals in mind for that.

DM: If I promise never to use the Quarterstaff as a weapon in the same round I swap it from a book, can I swap its shape as a free action? For dramatic effect.

Using the weapon form is a free action already. They form quickly. Also, the boots, bracers, and gloves don't transform into weapons, but materialize them in your hands. The tome, rod, mirror and horn to change shape though.

Out of curiosity, which end of the horn is the one with the gold plating? The narrow mouthpiece, or the wide lip?

Both sides have gold on the end, but the mouth piece has a guard of soft wood where you'd put your lips.

How exactly would a Druid and/or Cleric go about healing an ambodimant?

Wish, lesser wish, and miracle would definitely work. Barring that, you can find a powerful spellcaster or ask a deity in return for a favor.

Can the bracer's change shape into the weapon rather than just making it appear? I like the idea of them flowing off my body into a weapon/don't want to have to rewrite that post.
