You haven't found any trace of the girl yet. Keep in mind this is marshy ground, at least half the time you're in ankle deep water or mud.

Many tufts of vegetation (six to ten feet tall), growing on slightly raised domes (maybe 6" to a foot higher ground than the surrounding bog) make visibility poor for any distance.
