Sinker: Conbar stood there and looked intimidating; that was his job for the night. Boss was expecting trouble. Conbar wasn't, but then Conbar didn't really think the guy they were questioning did the things that bossman said he did. He had a nose for innocence, you see. He could just sense when people were telling the truth. It would be a great talent if only he could tell when they were lying, as well....

Big and docile, he was an easy target growing up for kids who wanted to prove they were tough. (1)

You've worked as a security and general big guy for Niccolo, maybe full-time, maybe on-and-off, for several years. The boss mentioned that he was going to retire, and he was leaving an interest in the theater to you. You don't know the details, but you know you were expecting something and that something hasn't been forthcoming since his death.

I'll let you tell me why you don't believe Dimitri did it -- maybe it's as simple as a benefit of the doubt thing.

I kinda like that. I'm thinking that as a big, dumb softy, Conbar probably needs less reason to get involved than most and his supreme naivete is going to lead to believe in Dimitri's innocence with little question.

So, where my head is on this is that Conbar was maybe a bouncer or something to that effect at the theater, and is out of work since it's burned down and needs something to do. And he's encountered Dimitri somehow somewhere at some point enough to know that "he couldn't possibly do what they says he did". From there he thinks someone's gotta do something or else an innocent man will be punished etc. etc.

I'll try to get the backgrounds and character sheet posted in the morning. Sorry it's taking longer than I thought it would to get things done.

Sheet is reasonably put together. I'll keep working on it until I go to sleep, but if you're having trouble with the excess of meatheads, an idea randomly jumped into my head while I was at work. The hook would be something to the effect of "Charlatan psychic detective out to make a name for himself".

Bullied You were bullied often as a child, and you are now constantly ready to defend yourself with your fists when an enemy comes near. Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus on attack of opportunity attack rolls made with unarmed strikes. Note that this trait does not grant the ability to make attacks of opportunity with your unarmed strikes—you must have a level in monk, the Improved Unarmed Strike feat, or some other similar power to gain the use of this character trait. However, that doesn't prevent you from selecting this trait. You simply cannot make use of it until a later point if you do.

Life of Toil You have lived a physically taxing life, working long hours for a master or to support a trade. Hard physical labor has toughened your body and mind. Benefit: You gain a +1 trait bonus on Fortitude saves.

I like the traits but I think I'm inclined to increase your bonuses here.

Bullied is adequately restrictive that I'll say +1 attack / +1 damage.

+1 blanket to fort is probably good enough.

Pick one of those and roll with it? Alternately, you could consider something like:

Bouncer: Throwing people out of places they don't want to be thrown out of is an art form, and you are the maestro. +2 CMB / +2 CMD when grappling.
