On the upside, your critical success presumably means that they are TWICE as coated in pitch .... :P

Or hopefully at least that it got them both equally good with a trail of pitch between them so they'll both catch fire immediately... if I survive to shoot the arrow (and if I don't botch again).

So, while I know that Mayarc's Heavenly Fire doesn't actually do any fire damage, I feel that the use of a Hero Point, as they are rare to come by, justifies some sort of spectacle.
But, everything has it's downsides, and now you have a flaming undead monster trying to batter you into submission - so good luck with that ![]() - - - I have renewed the game's advertisement and asked for some new players. I will be appreciative of any feedback of the players we receive. Further: How am I doing as a DM? Are you interested in the game? I am trying to juggle combat, and roleplay, and mystery, and curious to how well I am doing. This may be the longest I have been a DM, almost five months now. Are things moving too slowly? Are you interested in pursuing this mystery that I have introduced between the orc ambush and the undead rising in the pass or will you be more interested in doing other things when you escape the pass?

I'm really enjoying the game. Each adventure should have side plots and events, and this seems appropriate. I think you're doing a great job as DM.

Agreed, the game has been really enjoyable and I'm liking all the elements and potential plot hooks you've put into play. The game may seem like it's moving really slowly, but that's just how play by post works. You're lucky if you can get one significant battle or encounter done in a month. I think you're doing a great job.

Couldn't ask for more in a PbP game; there is a good pace going, plot hooks developing, plenty of action without losing the chance to have character interactions, and atmospheric posting.

I think it will be important if we're inviting replacement players to be confident that they have the same commitment to keeping a good pace going and a compatible style. I'm not unhappy with running with just the three of us for as long as it takes to find a good candidate, rather than feeling we 'need' to replace them straight away atthe potential cost of an inferior stand-in :-)

Agreed. I think this game has the potential to be a very good, long-term game because of the quality of the players we have. There's no need to risk that with accepting just any Joe Schmoe off the street.
Thame, do you think anybody from our other game would be a good candidate for this one?

I am not going to accept a player if I don't think they'll contribute, but, I thought I would open an invitation to the rest of DnDOG.
If you want to propose a candidate from another game or someone you know feel free. Contact them, and direct them towards our game, and the advertisement in DM Seeking Players and myself so they can get a feel of what I want or think we need. I would rather introduce a player that you guys already know rather than a stranger.

Anyone going to DragonCon by any chance? If so, let me know, cause I live in ATL and I'll be there.

I don't know about you guys, but Brad Pitt is actually a perfect representation of me as an American.
Will post this weekend, sorry about the delay. On second thought, he's like fifty now. I am not fifty.
